hy there,
is it possible to stop recharging when I connect the phone to my desktop? I don`t think these partial rechargings are good for the battery at all.

You don't want to do that. It shortens battery life. On the contrary, you should charge as often as possible!

Hello guys.
My jade has a pretty odd battery charge problem!
Even if I load my battery at maximum limit it discharges in less then 15 min and then the phone wents off. Then if I try to start the phone again it says battery level low please reload : /
This happends all the time so Im curious if theres any chance avoiding this problem.
Thanks in advanche

If you do a search, there are more threads discussing the subject.
If it discharges within 15 min. we have to think for an hardware-defect because no program can drain the battery in such a short time.
The best solution is to test with another battery or handset to find out what is defect: the battery or the handset.
Another battery (from friends jade) works fine in my phone... my battery in a other jade discharges quick as on mine. Is there a solution to fix the battery?

It must be the battery defect. If it's under warranty, request a replacement.

I agree: I see no chance to "fix it".
You only can buy a new one or claim warranty.
Hey guys
I have installed the official rom 1.66 WWE from HTC.com, and I can't believe how bad the battery life is.
I have it charged fully by the morning and barely use anything in it, maybe I do just browse for few minutes, and by about 9 PM the battery is life shows only about 5%. What the hell how can such a great device have such a bad battery life.
I always check if there are running programs in the background so the only ones that are always running are:
1- gyrator
2- wifi
3- active sync
is any of those the cause of draining the battery life.
On my iphone I have always wifi on, and I browse alot and the battery life is much better than HD2
Please advise?
WIFI thats wat does it...... dont forget the hd2 has a bigger screen then the iphone and also its more powerful then it to.
Install the bsb tweaks it will help out abit
hmmmm strange....i have wi-fi turned on most of the time yet i get a good day and a half of average usage out of mine.......
you have wifi on all the the time and are wondering why your battery is draining so badly?!?!?!?

Hi.
I recently purchased a new battery since the old one is kind of broken.
However it didn't really increase battery life at all. In fact it now shuts down at 35%.
How do I make sure it actually makes use of the whole new battery?

Is the battery from Samsung?

Yes it is.
You must calibrate the battery.
To do it you must be rooted.
Advanced method;
Use a root explorer and go to /data/system. Delete "batterystats.bin" file . Then drain all the battery and charge it while phone is off and unplug the cable whem it says full.. Thats all.
Also there is much easier way to do it if you want. Download battery calibrater app from google play and use it! BUT in any of these methods, you must be rooted.
After doing this it must be normal. Also flashing stock rom and non rooted musn't be problem
Cheers

This is not true.
http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...-battery-stats-does-not-improve-battery-life/
This misconception must stop being spread.
Though you're right about the charging bit, op should discharge until it's completely dead, then fully charge it and let it run out, repeat the process.

adytum is right. The phone doesn't need to be rooted. Rooted you can destroy the phones battery statistic file at once but you don't need to. Android permanently learns about your battery (high / low voltage) when charging and discharging.
Have some patience, give your new battery some full charges / discharges and everything should be OK.
I'm going to start working on this then.
Thanks alot !
I was already afraid my whole SGS was broken.
edit: But doesn't draining the battery completely lower its lifetime?

Difficult question - doing big researches will lead to different answers.
The only thing for sure is that completely drained or somehow even completely full batteries will age faster because of electrochemical reactions. Completely drained is worst case, of course.
A common recommendation of the industrie is to store an unused battery charged at about 60-70% and then put it away in some cold storage. That is because even LiIo-batteries suffer self-discharge of about 5-10% per month so it could avoid both stressfull states (0% / 100%) for a long time.
Your phone will never physically drain the battery completely, but will shut down itself before damage is done (don't know if this limit/border could be tweaked, but with StockROMs you should be save). Although it might say 0% there is still some energy left. So it wouldn't hurt to "drain your battery completely" down to 0% a few time if you don't forget to charge it afterwards.
As Android stores the min and max voltage of your battery your really should do complete cycles if you want Android to get your battery statistics right. You even have to do this if you killed Androids battery file on a rooted phone.
Much more damage will be done by keeping the battery at high temperatures, e.g. playing heavy games
I've been doing what has been suggested, however my phone keeps turning off between 30-40%.
Is there any way to solve this?

If you already have a rooted phone and no patience (no experience myself on this matter with ICS or JB), then you could use app "BatteryCalibration" to remove batterystats.bin file as was said in one of the initial postings.
if u use cm10 you can also enter cwm and whipe battery stats, i think under advanced

Hi all,
I have a MT4G running cm10.1. Prior to this, I was running toasted marshmallow's latest build.
Over the last week or so, I've been having some real problems with the phone. While in my pocket, it will discharge rapidly and switch itself off within a couple of hours of being off the charger. Other times, it will read a high battery percentage (80-90%) but will switch itself off randomly. When I go to switch it back on, the battery percentage reads 1%, and it switches off again soon after. If I try to switch it on again, it doesn't make it through the load process before switching off. It seems like the battery is completely discharged.
But (and here's the weird part): if I stick it on the charger, give it a few minutes, then switch it back on, the battery percentage will read 58% (both times I've checked this, it was 58%), and will then charge from there. It stayed on for the rest of the day when I took it off the charger (at 65% charge).
Edit: I though this might be a battery contact/connection problem, but shaking the phone / playing with the battery cover doesn't seem to bring it on. To be safe, I used a pencil eraser on the contacts and have a small piece of card in between the battery cover and the battery, to give more support to the battery. No reboots so far, but it's only been an hour or so.
So:
- is my battery dead, and can this be fixed by a replacement?
- is battery calibration needed (I know this is a controversial question; the consensus seems to be it does nothing)
- Is this more likely a hardware problem with the phone? I have noticed that the charger microusb cable does seem a looser fit compared with before, but since the battery was still charging I figured it wasn't a problem
Thanks for any help troubleshooting this!
Lee
Sounds like your battery is done...replacements are cheap...
What he^^ said.
Anker batteries are good and very inexpensive. Also, "calibration" does nothing. Just flash ROMs on a full charge and call it good.

Try to constantly check your what things are draining your battery, sometimes it could be the phone's data or it could be the sleep(idle) state of the phone, it could be many things. I tend to be always aware, check and read all the possible outcomes for the battery drain. For me is usually maintaining the data on my phone turn ON.
I have been having the same issue with my 10.1 ROM. It's not that old of a battery either so I don't think that it is dead; is there any other advice other than purchasing a new battery?

Switch ROMs and compare battery life? Also, check out Better Battery Stats. It can help you track down what causes drain.

This is the third ROM (starting from an ICS ROM) and the battery life is the same so I know it's not the ROM. Thanks for the app recommendation. I am afraid that I might have a defective battery.
As it turns out my battery has now started to leak and swell. I am going to purchase a new Anker battery. Thanks for all the assistance.
I am using this phone from Last 1 week and one thing I've noticed that battery management is very poor. it keeps decreasing without no usage even when the phone sitting on the table. the phone has 4000Mah of battery but there is battery usage tab in the settings like stock android to track down what is consuming more battery. The battery is not even lasting a full day.
I think its better if someone makes or port a Stock Android-based ROM for Samsung A51 or get the solution for Poor battery management.

I think you can check battery management in Setting > Device Care > Battery.
I agree with you that the battery is poor. I cant use the phone in 1 day without charging.
Thanks for the update, let me track down the background apps for 24 hours, let see if I can help to minimize the battery drainage. BCS its the first time when I am using a Samsung phone. I usually like to use phones with stock android & never faced this issue before regarding the battery

Hello !
You said that u can use u're phone 3 days and that's because of the firmware.. Can you give me more information about that please ?
I got recently this phone but the 4000mah is drained too fast, I optimize a lot of thing and got the minimal app in background or fonction like sync. The proof is that One UI is the app that drain the most of my battery.
Finally i think that is because of the screen..
But do you have an solution with a firmware or root for the autonomy of this phone ?
Sorry for my english and thanks for you're answer !
