hi
got my touch yesterday. coming from excalibur i am really used to opera mini.
the problem: i can't get shortcuts from jbed to work.
i am trying with
\windows\jbed.exe" -run s0_
but i get the error message that there is no s0_ midlet
how do i create a shortcut?
well this is how it works on my dual! is this the whole entry in your lnk file?
i changed my 1st post, as the code-tag was cutting some parts
how do i know whether it is s0_ or s1_?
it is the order of the installed applications.
it is not working
i have only opera mini in the list. so it should be s0_, right?
also tried run=s0_ nothing
i get:
MIDlet-Suite s0_" not found
The " are not in the link file

EDIT 11/1/06 Satellite images don't work on the new version of IBM and GMM. However, using IBM version ibm-weme-wm50-arm-midp20_6.1.0.20060727-102926 and GMM 1.3.2 it works really well. Quick, no freezing like with the default midlet manager. The 20060727 version of the IBM manager adds the softkey buttons, so it's way better.
EDIT: 8/18/06, process works with IBM Software 6.1 and GMM version 1.3.0!
Been looking for a while and haven't seen a step by step, so here goes:
- Basically you need to install a second Midlet Manager onto you 8125. It's made by IBM and can be downloaded here.
http://www14.software.ibm.com/webap...04-06+13:40:42.143397R&S_TACT=104CBW71&S_CMP=
You'll have to sign up for an account. Then download this exe: CLDC 1.1/MIDP 2.0 for Windows Mobile 5.0/ARM
- Once you've installed the exe on your computer, browse to:
C:\Program Files\IBM\WEME\runtimes\61\wm50-arm-midp20\
There is a cab file there-> weme-wm50-arm-midp20_6.1.0.20060317-111429
- Extract the cab file and transfer its contents to your device. I suggest either: a) \Storage Card\Program Files\J9\MIDP20\ or b) \Program Files\J9\MIDP20\
- After copying the cab files contents to your device, run the "emulator" file in the bin folder.
- While it's running, use your web brower and navigate to www.google.com/glm. Pick Generic -> Advanced MIDP2. it should ask you where you want to save the ".jad" file. Save it to "My Device" NOT "My Documents" on your device. Name it something simple, like "glm".
- Go back to Midlet HQ and choose "install". Type in the file name like shown here http://www.winmobiletech.com/032006Midlets/J9InstallLocal.bmp.png
but replace "a" with glm if you named the file that.
- It will connect to the internet and install the Google GLM midlet. Tada!
To get sat images, you'll just have to run GLM through this new midlet manager, and not the one that comes with the device. no bigy. Enjoy.
thanks for the links... But could you clarify some things. What are you talking about replacing "a" replace what "a" where?
Also I get an error when I try to Save to My device from explorer. Don't know if that is normal or not. Could you explain this a little better?
Why do you need the second midlet manager? Java installs fine on my KJam
-Mc
For some reason, the default midlet manager of the wizard (8125) will not allow you to view the satellite images from GLM, hence this big ordeal.
hbkdinobot: Replace "a" with "x" just refers to renaming the file so it's easy to find it later. When you download the file it wants to name it something extremely large. I'm just suggesting you rename the file to something simple and easy to type in and remember.
I'm not sure why you're not able to save the file. keep trying!

Why not just use "Virtual Earth Mobile"? One install for SP and PPC and has Sat and Maps. http://www.viavirtualearth.com/vve/Gallery/VEMobile.ashx

The fact that it's neither very stable (had it lock up several times) nor as usable as GLM may have something to do with it. I tried VEM, hoping that it would be a good substitute on my Javaless T-Mobile USA MDA, but promptly uninstalled it after much frustration. Instead, I flashed the MDA with the new Imate ROM that has Java in it, and Google Local Mobile now runs on my MDA just fine. It may not display the satellite images with the Intent JVM, but it's perfectly stable and usability is much better.
I installed the VEM on juiceppc's recommendation, we'll see how it works out.
VEM seems to have very old image data compared to GLM...
try this http://www.mgmaps.com/
On my t-mobile MDA (with the 2.17 custom ROM) the IBM midlet manager doesn't seem to work with glm (asks me if permission to use airtime but then gives me a blank screen).
The midlet manager that comes with the custom ROM can run both glm and mgmaps, but neither show satellite imagery.
I'm having the same problem as Sorcerer and I am running the 2.17.7.2 WWE ROM..anyone know what the issue is?
Works perfectly on my 8125. Thanks Jizzay1!
guys, been searching the forum, but could not find a solution.
tried the UNO version and K's easy install cab, but I keep getting the following error, when trying to launch the cube by sliding my finger from bottom to top: "error: Unable to open URL: /Program Files/SCLPF/Version 1-00.swf"
edited the touchflo config - so it finds the flashlite to "/Windows/saplaywm.exe"
so that seems to be ok.
I use a german rom, so maybe it's the folder structure?
I would be really happy to receive a hint by someone in the know.
thx in advance,
mr. t.
saplaywm.exe should be pointed to your directory in program files/ flashlite something like that.
appelton - sry, I don't really understand what you mean by "saplaywm.exe should be pointed..."?
Do you mean saplaywm.exe should reside in the Windows directory?
I think it must be something different, I just copied the "saplaywm.exe" to that respective dir - to no avail.
Everytime I slide my finger from bottom to top, to start the cube, it keeps asking for the "Version 1-00.swf".
Any other ideas?
thx
Change Version 1-00.swf to StartMusic.swf. You're using someone elses cab which is why have you have this basic problem. You might want to use my cab instead next time.
Hy guys! First of all I'd like to say you are doing a great job here! You already helped me with my old vpa compact II to realize that my Wlan Hardware Modul is a piece of grap and therefor I bought a brand new HTC TyNT II to use my Exchange Server in the right and working way!
Here comes my issue:
- I'm very interested in using the Cube Software so I read plenty of posts and threads to make it work, but it won't run! (Yes I'm a noob to WM6, before my Compact II with WM5 i used Palm OS)
After Installing the FTouchFlo_v1.4.1 and the SCLPF_1-62 as written in the manuals and configuring the right way, it won't work. My device has a preinstalled AdobeReaderLE2.0 so I additionally tried installing the FlashPlayer but with no changes. Furthermore my installing paths are different because of a german installation (the adobereader is in windows root with ppc_adobereader.exe)
I encountered these problems:
- The finger navigation won't work at all (with and without Extra Software)
- TouchFlo configuration is IMO correct, but swf files won't open in adobe's reader
Enervated I did a HardReset and recognized a PreInstalled version of TouchFlo on my Device! But there are no settings to change, the manual also says "Use it for big content to easily navigate with your fingers" but it won't work! Also I read that the device comes along with NO TouchFlo Preinstalled in other threads except here.
I'm confused, and maybe someone can help me out! If I posted this thread in the wrong place please do not hesitate to move it!
Thanx

Is it FTouchFloCnfig enabled on the General Tab?
What settings do you have in the Gestures tab for running the Cube?
Thanx for the reply!
Yes the FTouchFlo is enabled!
I'll post the settings file:

I take it FlashLite is installed in /Programme/Adobe/FlashLite/saplaywm.exe ?
mine installed into:
"/Program Files/Adobe/FlashLite/saplaywm.exe"
This is what I mentioned with German Installation! The Directories are named differently! So far I don't know if the software settings require the exact same path's or as I did just point to exe.
thanx

Can you open FlashLite from this location (browse using File Explorer) and then load the swf File from there?
ahhhhh, i get the screen, but ftouch won't work! maybe the delay or something is too long... I'll check different settings with the delay thing.
after trying:
I can select the the single swf's to open in flashlite, I can perform the buttons click, but the crossing finger action won't work.
Thanx for your help. I'll will delete the software. maybe I find a solution later and try it again
thanx

You need to set an action for crossing finger in FTouchFlo Config.
I suggest you use the C++ cube from Slither. It's very quick and lite, and doesnt require flash.
So, i got a 6900, and all is well, but i havent the foggiest idea how to edit the city i live in. I live in a the country and it wont find my city. Even when i add it to the XML file, it doesnt find anything. This may not be the right place to post, but i have been using the 6800 (and cooking alot) so, i'm a charp guy with these things.
and yes, i did a search but didnt find anything
EDIT : CANCEL THAT....it was on the 3rd page... ugh! curses!!
Check out the HHC (HTC Home Customizer) It'll help you out more prob.. if you haven't already
Well I installed the HHC Customizer version 1.0 from pocketemu without any issues onto device memory and when I ran the program I got the following error:
An unexpected error has occurred in homcust.exe.
Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information.
The system cannot find the file specified.
homecust.exe
FileNotFoundException
at
OpenNETCF Drawing, Imaging, ImagingFactory, CreateImageFromFile().....etc...
So, I thought...maybe I need something else...well I got the cab from the same site for NETCFv2.wm.armv4i.cab and it doesn't install. I get a message that a newer version is already installed.
Any help will be appreciated. This is a brand new vx6900 from verizon with nothing else installed except what I tried above.
**** UPDATE ****
I fixed this issue by re-doing the whole installation again. Here is how I did it:
1 - I installed HTC Home Plugin v2.1 (hermes version) from pocketemu.com <downloads section>
2 - reset
3 - I installed HHC (Home Customizer v1.0 (Final version) from pocketemu.com <downloads section>
4 - reset
All good!!!
how is yuour 8gb card working in the 6900?
Hello All,
I've tried searching numerous places and have not been able to find a definitive answer as to if the newest version of Opera10 can be set at the TF3D tab default browser. I found a thread that suggested copying the opera10 files to the WINDOWS folder and renaming an oper file in the manilla folder, but that didn't work for me... or I didn't follow the instructions correctly.
I guess I should start by asking, can it be done? And if so, is there anyone out there that could possibley explain how to do it, or better yet .cab it up, so that a person such as myself doesn't mess anything up.
Thank you in advance for any responses or help with this. This forum/community is absolutely great!
Thanks,
DeMo
yes some version out that have been adapted to make it default or there is a reg hack to make it so ill try to find it
right i think this is it but to be honset not 100% so if some one can confirm
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\: DEFBROWSER
"0"=Opera Browser
"1"="\Program Files\Opera Mobile 10\Opera10-armv4i.exe"
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\Shell\Open\Command\Default
"\Program Files\Opera Mobile 10\Opera10-armv4i.exe" %1
edit this was to change it from IE in a rom i was using not sure if its the same if it has opera9 as the default already
All Opera Mobile/Mini versions: Official thread
Hope this link help you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486502
If you don´t find your answer post there as all Opera experts visit that thread.
And don´t forget to vote for Rhodium!
Thanks guys! I appreciate the responses. I'll go check the Opera thread mentioned above and try posting there.
I am trying to get Opera 10 to launch from the TF3D Internet tab when you push "Launch Browser", instead of it launching Opera 9.x.
I've found information about editing an xml file, but that seems to be a solution for the T-Mobile TP2. I have a Sprint TP2 w/stock rom (I failed to mention that earlier).
Anyhow, thanks again. I will continue my search.
DeMo
I just downloaded Opera 10 Beta from Opera's website last night and installed it on my Tilt2, stock AT&T ROM. During the installation, it asked me if I wanted to make it the default browser. I clicked yes. Now it is used when I click the TF3D browser button.

Yes, but if you cook it in, it doesn't set as default browser, unless you install the reg tweak...

Okay. I'm still a noob at most of this, cooking ROMs is way over my head.
I found that if you go into the settings in whichever browser you are in (I've done it with Skyfire as well) you can select it to be your default browser and it will open with the TF3D link. Hope this helps!
Opera_Mobile_10_WM_beta_3_2.cab Does not have a setting/option to set is as tha default.. i aswell im dying to get this working as i hate opera 9.7
and not that i want skyfire but i just tryed setting it as default browser and still opera 9.7 open when i click tha globe or the browser softkey on tha internet tab...
Me & tha wife would really like an easy solution for this aswell
Thanks
Well opera 10 gave me tha option to set it as tha default browser wen newly installed but it did not open via internet tab..
What i did was delete all tha opera crap from my windows folder, then took contents of tha out of tha "Opera Mobile 10" folder i had installed on internal storage/memory card Renamed tha .exe file to OperaL.exe and pasted it in my windows folder, it works fine.. but uses like 10MB more memory then the default opera...
Now if i could get a copy of the internet explorer exe that i could rename and paste, in place of opera 10 that may be better as opera10 takes alot of space (on tha diamond i can't aford it) and i cannt copy tha IE exe - my device says i cannot edit ROM files ?
