Hello!
We have a MIDlet, that sends SMS using WMA.
Unfortunately it doesn't work with Palm Treo and intent jvm.
The sms is just not sent without an Exception.
With a SonyEricsson phone we made a similar experience.
After we changed the security settings for the MIDlet suite,
it worked.
Has anyone successfully sent an SMS using WMA from a TREO?
Thanks, Roland

reposting this because the original thread was truncated,
this program will send contact mobile number info thru SMS.
i will be releasing it soon.
Are you trying to say that this can send a vcard (more or less standard way of putting contacts-info in one file, can be read by ie. Nokia phones) via sms just like it allready works with BT?
Should be a Contacts-add-on instead of an extra piece of software.
@edsub
there is already a plugin that can do that but the problem is, its not compatible sending vcard to some of the phones (nokia,moto..etc)

my application will send the mobile number info with some short note using SMS so the nokia phones or any other type of phone that can send/recieve sms can have it. Ive got Tired of cut&pasting contact info and sending it.
No offense, but next to the fact I think your app really is very useful (for me too!!) I still think it should be a plugin for the contacts app. Can you make the app to behave like a plugin (or am I asking something weird now)?

Wow! This is great Pare!
In relation to this, shall we also expect that thru this app we too can receive Vcards from Nokias? The reason why I'm asking this is because my PPC device can't seem to receive Business Cards from Nokia phones.
My sincerest thanks!
hi guys
i found a app that sens vcards on the net but i cant remember where it was on one of the free ware sites.

Hi,
the default behaviour of a SMS that can't be sent (no service or such) is to be moved into the "draft" folder and I have to resend from there manually. My communicater did automatically retry to send the SMS for a given time. Is there a piece of software that does the same for WM5?
Bump...
I'd also like to find such a program.
ron
same here... or even a free one that will schedule to send an SMS at a certain time
SMS Resend Available...Sort of
If any of you have access to the Palm Threaded messaging program (very sweet app!), this does just what you're looking for. I was disappointed initially with my Window Mobile devices in that nokia's middle of the road devices had this feature built in. Well the Palm messaging app solves all this an is a cool as heck program.
Good luck!!!
The Esmertec Java (Jeodek Build 20060119) in my Atom does not support Java applications in sending SMS messages - despite setting the Esmertec Security Settings to allow the sending of SMS.
An SMS warning prompt (to which I responded to allow sending) as well as "Message Sent" Notification appeared, however no actual SMS was sent by the device.
Perhaps there is another paramater within the O2 Atom's Registry that I should set?
Would be grateful if anyone can lead me to the right solution, or to an alternative Java Virtual Machine.
PS. I noticed the same problems on the XDA Stealth and the Dopod 838Pro (MIDlet Manager.)
Hi, i downloaded the Windows Mobile 6 Standard Software Development Kit then installed it and created a new WM6 Project with these:
Imports Microsoft.WindowsMobile.Forms
Imports Microsoft.WindowsMobile.PocketOutlook
Imports Microsoft.WindowsMobile.PocketOutlook.MessageInterception
but how come the application cannot intercept the incoming sms on WM6 smartphone? I tried it on a WM5 smartphone device and it worked.
Any help guys?
I've got absolutely no idea about Smartphone stuff - but is it possible that the tighter security model on the Smartphones requires a developer's certificate and signing etc?
V
hi Vijay, thanks for the reply. If it needs signing, how do i do it? also, i forgot to mention that the application did run on WM6, the only problem is the message interception part. It was not able to intercept the incoming sms, instead, it went diretly to the Inbox.
any help on this?
i tried this on my wm6 emulator and the application was able to receive the incoming sms. On a real device, it can't.

Even I am facing a some what same problem.
On one of the roms it works like charm and on other it just refuses.
I am doing some more testing and if anything concrete will let u know.
thank you for the reply. i thought i was the only one having this problem. i'll be eagerly waiting for the reuslt sir.
I have an account at smsbug.com for sending international SMS through internet. I like this service because the SMS is sent with my phone number as sender. Thus my correspondant can make a normal reply to have a conversation with me.
My problem is that I used the application IPSMS on my Tytn II and this application does not work on my TP2.
The smsbug application neither.
Anyone knows an application working on the HTC TP2 for using this service ?
thanks for replying.
Seems the developer is working on it... Right here on XDA!
