Non-clip case like Pocket Solutions Passport? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Accessories

All,
The Pocket Solutions "Black Passport" seems like just what I want in a case... but it's sold out.
I haven't really found any other vendors that have a decent case w/o a belt clip. Any suggestions?
I'm looking for a minimalist case to keep the device safe in my pocket. Not interested in wearing it on a belt. Not interested in snap-on/stick on cases either.
Thanks,
-Brett.
PS - Yes, I looked in the "best case" thread and checked all the vendors linked to in there... didn't see anything like what I'm looking for other than the Pocket Solutions brand.

Decent horozontal belt case for the wizard?

The one that came from T-mobile looks good but the clip is a waste of space and tends to fall off whenever i sit in the car.
I used an older case that i was about to bin which had the same magnetic closure and had a double clasp at the back which never came off my belt - but sadly the front fell apart and the wizard got bruised on the street.
So anything that is a good fix to a belt - preferably with a magnetic catch - and reliable enough not to let the phone bounce onto the road.
I am not looking for a case to keep it in while in use - just one to carry it on my belt.
Thanks in advance.
I use a Krusell 'Horizontic' http://www.krusell.se/productUni.php?productID=1436&category=27. I'm very pleased with it and they aren't too expensive.
Thanks - I had seen that already - but could not find anyone selling it on ebay or in real life.
I liked it as....
http://www.krusell.se/productUni.php?productID=1764&category=2
as everyone has black phone cases!
On eBay, contact this seller: paylessalways
He has always been able to get me anything Krusell makes....
I use the SenaCase Pouch for the Treo 650 and it works perfectly: http://www.senacases.com/cart/home.php?cat=345
Anyone know who supplies that krussel one in real life or on the net?
Try this one:

Thanks to all.
I saw this place - and they seem cheapest but I dont see the brown/red one (and the guy on ebay is not listing just now).
http://www.eliteelectronics.co.uk/MDA_Vario_Leather_Case.html
They have the most expensive one for under twenty quid ($35).
But I am not sure if the belt straps are closed with poppers.
I will call them in the morning.
Got a Krusell one from this guy in the UK....
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/BP-SALES-DIRECT
The prices were good and I got it very quickly. He differentiates between standard vertical cases and horozontal ones by calling the latter pouches.
If anyone is thinking about getting a Krusell "plus" series case - the belt attachment is held on at the bpttom by two press studs so can pop off the belt. The cheaper one and the platinum one dont so I guess are better cases.
There is also a PDA case that offers an outside flap that is secured by two press studs that can store batteries/sims/memory cars in the flap - I guess this one offers better protection for your kit but is not available for the wizard.

Piel Frama Case

Well, i have send a mail to Piel Frama, i was wondering of they are also
making a perfect in leader build case for the Ameo or HTC, i got a nice
reply returned.
So let's wait for the good news

Nice. I also emailed Ruben yesterday asking the same question.
Maybe we should use this time to provide this vendor with some input. Request things we would like to see in an Athena case by compiling a list from interested members then send this to Ruben. What do you guys think about the idea?

Great idea.
First request has to be - magnets to hold the keyboard in the case, and not a nasty plastic sheath like on the otherwise excellent PDair case.
Belt clip...suggestions to Piel Frama.
Of course, we must have a belt clip.
No plastic cover for the screen please. I haven't had a case that has plastic for the screen that I've liked. I always ended up cutting out the plastic. I like using the screen protectors better and allows you to actually tap the screen without issues.
Place a plastic see through "window" on the case to be able to view the "status bar" when the phone is "closed". I would like to be able to see this area when having the phone closed while in its case.
Mesh covering on the speakers. I don't like to cover the speakers at all but would like a mesh covering to protect it without hindering the sound.
If I think of more items I'll post them.
Edit #1: No flap (closing snap or whatever it's called) on the case please. As with the original case, this isn't needed and I see most others have this. It just gets in the way and is annoying and not necessary for this phone.
Edit #2: Maybe a plastic insert for the clear plastic end of the keyboard to avoid scratches on the device. This is a bit stretching it but I'm posting the recommendation anyhow.

personally, i think most of the Athena owner won't really want belt clip, it's too heavy and big to use it that way, and also most importantly, there is just no suitable place to allocate the belt clip, if the belt clip is under the screen, then the surface is not flat anymore therefore you can't use the keyboard.
Personally, i think 80% that Piel Frama Case won't have a belt clip.
p.s. I know a few members here in this thread will want to prove me wrong, well, all i can say is time will tell.
The great thing about the Piel Frama cases is that the clip is optional. You don't have to attach it if you don't want to. If you do want the clip, you pop out a little plastic thingy and screw in the clip "wheel" and use a clip...so this solution will work for all...hopefully.
Edit: Here's an animated GIF of how the clip system works on their cases... http://www.pielframa.com/Animaci%F3n%20grande%20pinza%20super%20nueva.gif

I'm e-mailing Ruben now asking him to check out this post.
Well done, hopefully he will look here and see what options are possible as they go to design? I definitely DO want a belt clip, as where I work I need both hands, but would like the Ameo handy when it's needed!!
Tim
I want:
Mostly as per the PDair case - I like the protection at the front of the Ameo.
Magnetic keyboard attachment, magentic, slide or push clip latch to keep it closed.
Belt loop, or another method of attachment that doesn't leave a component on the case. No pegs.
I don't like the status bar, I don't "use" it per se. It wastes backlight, running the whole screen, and isn't visible in the case anyway.
Of course, I really want it to be Not As Good (or just the same) as the PDair case, so I don't end up spending YET MORE MONEY!
Man, don't you peoples' pants/trousers ever fall down from weighty clip ons? There's NO WAY I could clip the Athena. My pants would come down to my knees!

I actually wear pants that fit like they are supposed to.
For me, the three things I'm looking for in a case are:
1) Something like the pdair case covering the housing of the phone in leather so the keyboard plastic bit doesn't scratch the screen.
2) Clip/latch to hold the thing shut.
3) Magnetic keyboard holder.
I personally don't need a belt clip, but any company that made it optional would probably be selling a lot of cases at the moment!
P.S. Has anyone noticed that Proporta are working on a case at the moment? It's on their website, but sadly no pictures yet.
All good idea to refer him to this post.
The belt option is no solution for this type of device i thinks
indead to carry a brick on you pants is not the way.
I think there should be made a wallet like case with the option to take
also some memory cards and other stuff in it, indead avoid the plastic
holder for the keyboard.
this case looks very nice.
http://www.pielframa.net/texas_instruments_voyage200.asp
let see where they come's up with..
I think that a belt clip or at least an option to have one would be a great idea. Would mean that the case would appeal to more customers from a marketing side of things. I would wear mine on a belt clip at work and then prob put in my pocket in the evening.
I wonder if anyone would make a leather case just for the screen without the keyboard? Id like to just carry the screen around without the keyboard, yet id be worried about the screen being protected when in my pocket.
So funky new case is a great idea, lets hope and im sure it will be a smart case
i'm looking for pielframa's UNIVERSAL PDA CASE BLACK fit to the athena (perfect would be a seperate pocket for the keyboard).
A case for parts of the Athena
The case that comes with Athena is very good when you want the whole thing with you. What I would like is a case that allows me to only take the phone part, not the keyboard. Something slim that protects the screen. It would allow me to safely take the Athena with me when space is sparse.

Kaiser protection that will not increase the size of the phone by much

i like to have the kaiser in my jeans etc but with the supplied case (t-mobile) it is just too bulky. i need a solution that will protect the phone from falls etc but will allow me to keep it in my pocket without creating a huge bulge.
Im searching for the same thing, anyone an idea?
i think a skin would be the best bet but none are available yet, or some kind of sock case
I know one, you see that strap hook by the sync cable/charge insert on the kaiser?
Get a lanyard with quick release, attach it to your belt.
Get a screen protector.
There, all issues solved
The kaiser is already bulky in the pocket, dont think you will be able to find a case that wont be to encumbersome. Afterall the kaiser is best used on the belt clip.

The Kaiser does that to me everytime i look at it LOL
To answer your question though: There are currently very few companies who actually released cases for the Kaiser...i would suggest waiting until christmas, or january and then deciding instead of picking from the very few available ones now.
i'm using a BodyGuardz skin...check out the pictures in the attached zip file...
skins soon to be available from gpsforless.co.uk
i e-mailed them and they told me they are in the process of producing them, and will be available soon. couldn't give me a date though
This was posted "For the time being, I'm getting by ok on the stock Kaiser case along with a small neoprene case from OP/ Tech USA. The Velcro on the stock case will lose its grip over time and repeated use and that fact alone has me case hunting too.
The OP/ tech case is useful for when I just want to carry the phone someplace other than clipped to my belt (say a cargo pocket). There is a clip on it too if need be. The real plus for me is its utility & bang for the buck: the case provides shock & screen protection and even a bit of water resistance with minimal bulk. It stashes well and the price is right. There are color options too. I’ve used these cases for cameras, GPS and cell phones for some time now and like them a lot.

If that adds anything
PC
those could do but i don't find them very attractive.
i do wonder exactly how slim line these cases are though
http://www.thepocketsolution.com/PSI-35043.html
i am quite tempted
although Im speaking for the prophet, it would seem that Noreve case would not add too much bulk....(sorry to keep plugging them, but i truly love their cases)

Not a bad looking case at all. Think I found a winner

Belt pouches

I recently purchased the Fuze, and one of the first things I noticed was that the standard AT&T offered cases are not designed for people who do anything other than work in an office. In my not-so-humble opinion, mind.
I was wondering if anyone has seen a pouch or case that goes on a belt loop that will hold the phone snugly. I use a BT headset, so unless I'm using the phone for the computer side of things (which is about 40% of the time, having to find this or that bit of info), the phone is quite happy to stay in its pouch.
If all else fails, I guess I could go buy a neoprene laptop carrier and cut it into what I need/want. But I want to see if anyone has found something that might work instead.
These are alittle dear but VERY good cases ...

Piel Frama
I use my FUZE in the manner you described. I wanted a snug pouch that allowed easy access.
The Universal Cell Phone Case from Piel Frama, sized for the FUZE, works great and looks good. It isn't fancy, which I like.
Hope this helps,
Brian
this phone is kind of classy looking. Are you sure you want to go sporting around a belt clip?
I mean, not as bad as an iPhone user wearing it on their belt....but pretty darn close.
I would recommend finding an alternative that is a little more well hidden. I've seen some pretty nice solutions for putting the phone in a pocket securely. That's nice because it's not a huge advertisement that says "I'm forty and still receive wedgies." If you can't find an alternative that suits your needs that's cool, but if you can find a more hidden phone accessory you'll seem much more sleek...like your phone.

OEM Shift Case

So I finally got my Shift I love the little bugger, fantastic machine. However, the previous owner seems to have tossed the case overboard into a deep ravine. Not having a protective case is hampering its mobility for me, as this is not a device I would leave out unprotected.
What I am looking for is the OEM x9500 Shift case or some similar product. I cannot seem to find anyone selling this slip case that comes packaged with the Shift nor can I find something reasonably similar. What I can find are a few designer leather slip cases priced $50-100, which aren't exactly what I am looking for anyway.
I am looking for a simple slip case with a flap, I don't care if it is leather or not as long as it isn't sandpaper and it can be either magnetic or not. Looking for either someone selling theirs or who knows of a similar case for sale.
New, used, or torn up. It doesn't matter, it is a case.
Post here or PM me.
I did flip through the case thread and didn't find too much that interested me. The only one that I was even moderately interested in was http://4ustuff.com/info.php?itno=2661 However, I'd like to see if anyone has an OEM case for sale or something similar before I track down someone selling that one.
This is the best one I could find...
http://cgi.ebay.com/Capdase-Clip-Flip-Leather-Case-Sleeve-for-HTC-Shift_W0QQitemZ200312428943QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Computers_PDA_Accessories?hash=item200312428943&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50
It's very similar to the "Proporta" one I have which does the job perfectly well.
Downside is it's from Hong Kong.
EDIT>> In fact, just looking at Proporta's website and here it is
http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=4026&t_mode=des
Thanks for the find. That seemed to be the only other one I could find as well. I was wondering if the clips seem to damage / scratch the unit at all? Or get in the way while typing?
