Need some opinions on this silicone case ... - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Accessories

I am interested in buying this silicone case for my AT&T Tilt from eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Silicone-Case-f...ryZ15036QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I was hoping if anyone else purchased it would recommend it or not?
Also, if anyone else knows of any other silicone cases out there, please post to let us know. I did not discover too many types of silicone cases myself.
TKN

And if no one is familiar with the case in the first post, what about this rubber made case: http://www.seidioonline.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=896

$4.50 for a silicon case? Well, I suppose even if the case is poor quality, you won’t greatly out of pocket.
That picture on ebay is pretty bad. I can hardly distinguish the silicon case from the device itself

This case is already being discussed on this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=352605
And towards the last couple of pages, it is briefly discussed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=336542&page=23
Yes, I do think it is one of the best. It looks like it offers more than adequate protection without compromising its lightness in weight. I will look to order this particular case next week when shipping begins (according to one of the members)

My last question about the Seidio case is that is it a snap on case? I have bought a case previously for HTC Wizard and the little plastic things that are supposed to the cover on the phone broke.
- TKN

I don't know what you mean by snap on case. Remember that the case is rubber and not plastic.
Perhaps if you refer to the thread below, you may find answers to your questions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=352605
A whole thread is being devoted to discussing this particular Siedo case already

Try this one!
Don't know if you're dead set on a silicone case for your phone but i personally went for a crystal hard case as the silicone cases don't really work too well with these phones as there is an open end on them in order for the keyboard to slide, plus i couldn't really find one that i liked the look of.
So i got one of these from this seller in Hong Kong... arrived in 4 days and the quality is excellent!
Have dropped it once and there was no damage to the case or phone. Even came with a screen protector too!
Crystal Case Kaiser

DITO
I too bought one of the crystal hard two piece case for my Kaiser. I was a little iffy when I got it out the packaging at first but it is now top of my eBay best ever purchases list.

Crystal Case+Screen Protecter for HTC TyTN II/2/P4550
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/AccessoriesShopHK
It not only creates a plastic protective environment for the phone that is not in the least intrusive to every day use, but without wishing to sound in the least vain, it makes the phone look utterly gorgeous and yummy. I have had many comments since using my Kaiser in public, but over the last few days several people where I hang out have wondered what the hell phone I was using to type on.
Point is...GET this item if you want to protect your phone and at the same time enhance its looks.

I bought that silicone case you linked to and let me tell you that thing is horrible. The fitment is all loose and it basically falls off.

the one on ebay from that hong kong seller.. the one that only covers the back and not the front

yep bought one of those crystal case+screen protector from ebay as well. Just arrived today and I am already loving the case. It looks great.

Wondering if anyone has actually tried one of the silicone cases yet. Another thread on this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369377&highlight=silicone

What case comes with the K-JAM?

Can any of the early K-JAM owners confirm what kind of case is shipped in the box? Is it like the belt-clip horizontal case coming with the Jam, or is it different?
Thanks.
I just played with it at a phonestore.
It comes wit a belt like clip holder. Looked allright to me, nearly same as magician bigger
Yeah, way bigger. The K-Jam case is square (not with rounded edges), and way too much extra space at the top.
I'm looking to find that case that sweet Treo 650 case BTT snagged. Went to BestBuy and CompUSA today, nothing like it. Hey, BTT where'd you get that case (I know, a mall, but what store)?
The case isn't very pretty, but it's functional, and has a nice firm front/back to stop anything from smashing your screen. It also makes the device WAY too bulky.
My 2 cents...
Good Points:
1. Full width sewn in magnetic strip on flap makes it very easy to close (i.e not just a small magnetic catch)
2. Access to plug in headphones
3. Spring steel belt clip rather than belt loop, so it can be quickly removed from belt without unbuckling
4. Soft felt inside gives good screen protection
Bad Points:
1. Corners of device exposed, so would be damaged if case is dropped.
2. Case a good bit bigger than it needs to be.
3. Nylon material of case "puckers" a good deal in damp air. Very odd..!
4. Case is a bit too ridged, making it hard to extract the device.
Regards
Chris
Mmm, how do I completely delete a duplicate post??

That case looks pretty terrible :\
If that picture is for the shipped case,it looks very pretty nice to me .
Wow, it is huge!!! Definitely too bulky (too thick), it will make you look like pregnant if you wear a pullover....!
A definite step back from the very useable case provided with the Jam.
We definitely need someone to come up with a very skinny case for the belt... Any company working on this?

The mall I bought it from is called Menlo Park Mall in Edison, NJ.
The kiosk is in the middle of the mall and the manufacturer is called Bytech.

Piel Frama's case for the Wiz should be out next week according to the email I got from them last night. Look at their site towards 27-OCT or so and see if it is listed...
Excellent! I was really hoping Piel Frama would come out with a case. I love my hx4700 Piel Frama case!
To make the device easier to extract from the case it shipped with I found it convenient to utillize the end of the lanyard that shipped with my Motorola HS-810 headset. It detatches from the lanyard, leaving a piece of looped line with a plastic piece. looping it through the provided point on the lower left corner of the device. Doing this results in a handy place to grab hold of the device and extract it from the case.

I think you view of the shipped case will depend on your origins ;-) The case probably is bigger and bulkier than it needs to be, but if like me you have been used to lugging round an xda 1, an xda 2 and then the xda 2s, you will probably be pleased how compact this is And of course its free!
I personally hope that EB Cases will produce a smalller version of the horizontal soft leather case with belt loop or clip, that they make for the xda. I used it for 3 years all three of my xda's and its still going strong. Not bad for $30.00 !

Case for exec

I was lookng for a protective case for my exec on the net and found this.
http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=1355&t_mode=des
looks sturdy but dont like the looks. Anybody found/using better cases?
Help appreciated.

The best looking and quality case from what I've seen is the Piel Frama case: See: http://www.pielframa.com/imate_jasjar.htm
Piel Frama has a good history in hand making their cases that fit the phone with all of the cutouts necessary. The leather is also of a very good quality. They are a little bit more expensive than some of the others.
Krusell also makes good cases and has one for the O2 Exec/Jasjar: http://www.krusell.se/product.php?s=2&product=2095
I'd say the Piel Frama might be the best from what I've seen and Krusell might be 2nd. I just ordered both of them for Expansys and will try them out and see which one I like better and send the other back.
Expansys is quoting a 3 day shipment on the Piel Frama (they call it the Chairmans case) and 8 days on the Krusell.
Thanks
I was earlier looking for metallic cases but I think these definately look better and my exec shouldn't be any less safe in them. Me too off to expansys. Though as you already have ordered and will be receiving yours soon hope you wouldn't mind telling me which one you think is better then I shall order the same. Shall wait for your input. Thanks.
I have to have one that will clip to my belt (not using a swivel clip, they break far to easy) so I have one of these - http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=125516
It came yesterday, although I've not actually used it, it looks to be made well and fits the PDA nicely.
JJ Case
I have the Piel Frama Case (tan color) and like it very much.
On my magician, I have the Covertec case which is in my mind the nicest one. Unfortunately, they don't have a Universal case (yet).
Same holds true for the Vaja cases.
Cheers

Just got a black Frama for the JasJar this evening. Will post some comments reflecting some use in a day or two. First impressions are that the leather is the same fine, high quality leather for which Frama is known, very stylish appearance, and nice pockets for SD, credit cards, and currency. There may be a slight problem with the lid not closing all the way, that I'll have to take a look at more closely to see if it's resolvable.
Finally got the Piel Frama case for the Jasjar. Very nice quality, all of the cut outs are there. The leather strip does prevent the device from closing all of the way, but it is very slight.
I wish there was a belt clip and maybe the snap should have been magnetic instead, but other wise a nice case.
I may order the Krussell case as well and see how it does, as it is only $20.
Proporta have sent me the aluminium case for review.
in addititoon I am waiting for the Brando one to arrive any day
http://shop.brando.com.hk/o2xda.php
I currently have the Proporta Aluleather and Nutshell.
I reviewed the Aluleather one on www.windowsmobile247.com and will be reviewing all the others mentioned above soon.

See my post on the Frama case for the Universal as post #355 on the page below. The strap behind the keyboard does prevent the case from closing all of the way by a couple of millimeters. However, it's not a serious problem and isn't noticeable after a while. The closing strap / snap doesn't try to force the lid to closer further and so it doesn't put pressure on the hinge.
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=722975&page=24&pp=15
With my case the problem is worse than a couple of mm. I can not close my case (even applying pressure) because the screen sticks up so high due to that leather strap across the top of the keyboard.

I just got mine the other day from eBay, and the front face doesn't fit all the way on or stay on. I'm going to have to return it and find another one.
I've finally tested this case for more than 10 minutes and I really hate the fact that the edges are not beveled in, making it extremely hard to use my fingers to press the softkeys on the screen, onscreen scrolling and some slight awkwardness when pressing the outside buttons.
Mine was also made of white plastic, so it has this ugly white lip around the edges.
After removing my BodyGuardz skin, the case fits snugly and is very hard to remove (I accidentally cracked the lower piece while removing)
Oh well, you get what you pay for. Time to read up on Seidio cases
http://www.wirelessaccessories.com/... 8925 - TyTN II - Kaiser&sfid=134039&c=164107
I've used these for my last 2 devices. I don't recommend the rubberized as they scrape up easy. While you get what you pay for ($5.95 + ship) so I buy several. I prefer the protection from scratches and ease of use . It does make getting to buttons a little harder, I agree.
I went on Ebay and got a clear one for around $4 shipped. looks decent, works, only thing about the clear ones is that dust tends to collect under them and phone looks dirtier. a quick clean and back to new. i dont recomend dropping the phone using the case, but in all honesty i dont recommend droping the phone all together.

OEM Fuze screen protector

anyone know where i can get another original screen protector that came in the box? i liked how u couldnt even tell it was on there, and how it was made of a hard, almost, thin glass, type of plastic. Unlike most of the other screen protectors that are thick and bendy.
any ideas? or anywhere that sells ones VERY VERY similar to the original?
thanks!
I've been thinking the same thing, hopefully one of the many guru's here will have an answer!
Me three! Surely someone sells the OEM one. Post, people! Tell us who!
I know the OP asked about the OEM screen protector, but i've been using these on all my portable devices and they are quite literally the best screen protectors i have ever used. When applied correctly there is zero distortion and the screen looks exactly as it is without the protector.
http://www.overlayplus.com/US/dis_product.asp?model=HTC_ProTouch&modeln=Touch%20Pro&prod_type=screen
Its a bit on the pricey side but last night my fuze slipped outta my hand, did a nice midair tumble and slid screen-down across the edge of my desk leg, it only got a slight scratch that i buffed out with plastic polish
I'll be happy to snap some pics if you guys are interested.
I will update that a friend of mine who also owns a Fuze called HTC to ask them if he could purchase another OEM screen protector and the customer service person he spoke with told him they do not sell them separately but that he should check daydeal.com if he wanted the OEM screen protector. So, he took that to mean the ones daydeal.com has for sale for the Fuze are the same ones HTC supplies with the phone.
I cannot confirm this as the one he ordered has not arrived yet but I will try to remember to post here when I hear from him on these.
What about InvisibleShield? Anyone using that one?
http://www.zagg.com/support/whatis.php
These have worked out well for me. The anti-glare ones work very well.
http://www.boxwave.com/products/easyfinder/buy-best-at_t-fuze-accessories_3350.htm
I had the invisibleshield one but found that it was too grippy and it wasn't as clear as i hoped it would be. I've got 2 pictures here, you can see the optical clarity in the 2nd picture by comparing the reflection of the cologne bottle in the screen with the actual bottle. The screen protector covers both the screen as well as the buttons.

I found that my invisible shield one has a bit of a orange peel finish on it which i didn't like too much. This one is actually smoother than the screen naked.

Update: He received the screen protectors he ordered from daydeal.com and by the looks of them, they are essentially the same as supplied with the Fuze from the factory. He and I both looked at it and it looks and feels the same. If you like the OEM one, I suggest ordering from daydeal.com if you need a replacement. And no, I'm not affiliated with them. Just passing along the info.

i second the boxwave one. its friggin clear and easy to put on
http://www.boxwave.com/products/cle...h-crystal-screen-protector-at_t-fuze_3350.htm
however, shipping is hella slow
but really nice product
i got the 3 pack and screwed up the first one but totally worth it
I ordered these from daydeal and would NOT state that they are 1:1 compared to the shipped one. HOWEVER, love it. It's a slightly different material (kinda anti glare but the "blur" is fully acceptable for me) and I had some concerns reg. finger friendliness but that's not the case. Stylus operation is easy (by far not so rubbery as the invisible shield). Form, fit and applying was very easy (much easier than the stock one). I bet Martin Shield is the best but I still think money well spent. On top, not so prone to fingerprints as the shipped protector.
good or better than OEM protector
I concur that this screen protector from DayDeal is as good as or better than (in my opinion) the original OEM protector that came with my Fuze.

I ordered only one last week, but I may order a few more just to have them on the ready.

Looking for hard shell cover with NO grip

But ... I also want to double protection with some kind of plastic hard shell. I will be using hard shell TOGETHER with PDAir case (this case has stretchable sides). I used same kind of setup for HTC HD.
Now ... ideally this plastic case would be Capdase Alumor HD2
but unfortunately because of size difference it does not fit perfectly on T-Mobile's version on HD2 (1.5mm taller) and when I emailed Capdase they told me that there are NO plans to make version for T-Mobile HD2
So I'm stuck with eBay and such What I need from this case is preferably protection of corners, no bulk and .... case should not be GRIPPY !!! I mean, no unti-slip coating. The reason ... silicone and such are grippy and give trouble when inserting/removing it from PDAir case. I dont want that ! I want it glide Or at least similar to back cover of HD2 itself.
So those resin/selicone/etc cases on eBay - they are out.
Having said that ... any advice ?
expensive hard case

Thanks for the info ... it is hard to see on eBay and on your pics ... does this case cover corners ?

It does cover the corners although the top and bottom are open...it also will NOT fit into a dock I purchased with the case on but will if I take case off...but fits in and out of the leather holder on my belt fine with no "sticking"....I'll try to take some better pics of top and bottom at corners...problem is the phone is my main camera and older phone takes crappy pics. On other hand it was only a $3 case and came with a screen protector so not alot at risk.
I would really appreciate better pictures of top/bottom. Thanks in advance !
Does it look the same as here (there are good pictures already):

I have the black gel skin that T-Mobile sells for this phone. It is very smooth and not at all grippy, and allows the phone to slide easily in and out of my pocket. (Compare this to the ribbed, rubbery, and very grippy skin that came in the box with the phone.)
Edit: I see you specified "hard shell" so I guess this doesn't fit the bill.

Now ... ideally this plastic case would be Capdase Alumor HD2
but unfortunately because of size difference it does not fit perfectly on T-Mobile's version on HD2 (1.5mm taller) and when I emailed Capdase they told me that there are NO plans to make version for T-Mobile HD2

I refuse ebay. I ordered this Fommy, but it didnt come in yet. The Alumor would be great if it fit.
