Internet Explorer auto closes when pressing "Back" - P3600 General

Hi,
I have a problem with my IE: everytime I try to go back (tapping the back button on the screen or pressing the left softkey) the IE shows the last website for less than a second and then closes itself.
I have soft resetted the trinity and uninstalled the last programs but nothing helps. The internet cache is not on the storage card and I have deleted all temporary files.
I use Bepe's WM6 (GER), have Pocket Breeze and Mobile Shell installed.
Any ideas what I can do to solve this annoying problem?

I remember reading a similar problem after installing a dictionary from Lingvosoft. I'd recommend making some searches on Google, since I remember them releasing a patch/fix for this problem.
Anyway, trying uninstalling any product from that company (if you have any), and see if it helps.
Good luck

Thanks,
you where right! It is caused by a conflict between pocket IE and Lingvosoft software. It can be solved by deleting ft_ctxm5.dll and ft_ctxm3.dll from the windows folder. There is a patch/fix from Lingvsoft as well.

SPB PocketPlus not closing programs

One of the main features of PocketPlus that I use is the close button modification - so it closes programs as opposed to minimising them. However, it seems that it has stopped doing that.
I can't pinpoint anything that I've done to make this happen, I haven't installed any new software or changed any settings...
Can anyone think how I can fix this? It says it is set to 'close' rather than minimise in the options. All the ROMs and whatever on my Exec are default.
I'm using 3.04.

Reinstall
Should solve the problem (easiest way)
Okay, I've tried reinstalling BUT...
Before I uninstall, there is about 4MB of storage left. This doesn't increase when I uninstall, and when I reinstall it gives me the message about storage being critically low...
Also, when I look in memory in settings, it shows the storage memory as 7.4MB. However, when I go to install pocketplus it shows the memory available as 3.9MB.
Softreset before you uninstall then
It does that automatically, it says that I have to soft reset to complete the uninstallation. I have also done it manually.
I've removed something else now and in the memory settings pane and the remove programs pane it shows 8MB free, but when I go to install it it says 4.5MB free... Why could this be?
Reinstalling doesn't seem to have fixed the problem. It still isn't closing the programs.
Does anyone know of an alternate way to make the close button actually close things instead of minimising?
Got your same problem. Went even through a hard reset on my qtek 9000 and had it re-installed. Works for a couple of times than this function stops to work....Who knows why
I thus decided to go that way
-magic button (excellent freeware) it gives you many possibilities to manage apps closing or minimizing
-spb diary
-resco launcher (very essential launcher but n°1 memory saver
If resco launcher doesn't suit you keep magic button and go to illauncher
After you have played with complex and very aesthetical apps..you come back to efficiency.....
have fun
T
Magic button seems to be doing the trick now, thanks for the recommendation
I've installed this program on my Vario, but when uninstalling it it doesn't come off. Furthermore, my Vario isn't starting back up after it soft-resets itself to complete the uninstall. I tried just about everything, nothing will work!
Any suggestions??

Stuck at Windows Splash Screen

Everytime I turn my xda on it won't get past the Windows Mobile splash screen.
Everything was fine until I installed a copy of Netfront that I had aquired (yes, I know it's my own fault for using cracked/copied software). Anyway the install went OK, it said I needed to restart, so I did, but now it doesn't get past the splash screen.
I'm thinking that if I can access the files stored on the xda then I might be able to remove enough of the traces of Netfront that it'll at least startup properly.
Is there anyway that I can access the files stored on my xda without needing to start up windows?
Finally someone with the same problem that me. Try tap the screen continuosly (every 4 seconds) when the splash screen appears then the system will boot up. let me know if works because we have to find the cause of that.
wow it worked cheers
Uninstalled Netfront and everything's back to normal
But the problem persists, it's nothing to do with Netfront. I believe you have a lot of app's installed, is it true ? I have Phonealarm, SBSH iLauncer, SBSH Pocketweather, Alarmtoday and Inesoft Address Book as today plugins. And you ?
I've got a fair few app's installed but no today plugins.
All I know is I installed Netfront and everything screwed up, I uninstall it and everything's back to normal so I'm happy.
Perhaps you should try uninstalling app's/plugins one by one and do a soft reset each time. At least you may be able to narrow it down to a problem with one particular app.
Done it ... Trust me you'l have the same problem when you'll install another application (not only with netfront). The question is why ?
Damn, you're right
Just installed Minimo, did a soft reset and it's back to sqaure one
How much Storage/Program memory left do you have ? I have 19MB/17MB
Storage 13MB
Program 23MB
Do you use smartskey/omapclock tweak ? i use omapclock with 264MHz
Nobody else has this issue ?
Don't use any of those
Everything's pretty much standard apart from registry wizard and a few app's installed
ok guys i have this same exact problem but the thing is it happend for no reason
one day i just turned on my phone and it was doing it it only starts after hours of messing with it i dont know why i havent installed or changed anything

Softkey background corruption (Resolved)

Can anyone help with resolving this problem? The lower softkey backgrounds have changes to grey ISO black. It happened before with a game, but the the problem went when I uninstalled it.
Now the problem came back after I put CE Star on, but even after I removed CEStar, cleared the installation folders and soft reset a few times the problem remains. I could be wrong to blame CES, but it was the last program on before the issue came up.
I tried disabling and re-enabling touchflo, changing themes around and back to black etc. I left it switched off overnight to think about settings sticking but still no joy.
Grateful for any suggestions and thanks.
[Edit : It seems to have been caused by "big5vcs.tbl" and/or "GBxxx.tab" (xxx I forgot the full filename) being left behind in the \Windows directory. Deleting them and a soft reset resolved the softkey colour issue.]
I have the exact same problem on my HTC Touch HD. But idont have those 2 files you mentioned..does anyone know exactly why this happens? there must be some other file for me in my windows directory that must be causing it. how did you know which files were to be deleted?
I'm always wary when installing potentially incompatible programs.. especially with the HD and its huge screen. Take some time to poke around the windows folder and look for any orphan files. In my case suspect files as I named above were dated on the date/time I put CE-Star on, so I knew they should be safe to delete.
This still leaves room for error though, so be sure of what you're doing. I suggest you try to back track and remove software/revert settings changes in reverse order until you fin the culprit! Searching here may also help if you have suspicious programs.
Solved!
Great news..i'm able to solve the problem..now i have the black soft keys back! What i did was used Memmaid to see what was starting up with windows, and disabled the items i didnt need to start up..in my case, it was Mapking_sms.exe and batti__sumthing__.exe.
After disabling those, a soft reset got everything back in order again... fewh..
hope this helps other people as i have searched for a solution for this problem for weeks!!

Strange Memory Isssue with HD

I am facing a strange problme with HD.It runs okay for 1-2 days and after that if I try to open calendar or file explorer etc they do not open.If I try to open calendar I get the message memmory full please go to settings task manager and stop running programmes. But actually there are no progrmmes running in the background. The memory usage being shown at that moment is just 51%.I have uninstalled most of the programmes I was using and out of the ones none of them run in the back ground. So I donot understand what the problem is.The problem can only be rectified by soft reset.
Can anyone suggest solutions to this problme.
Unfortunately, I have not any suggestion for now. I just wanted to tell that I get the same issue and the same message to go to settings task manager and stop running programmes but ther is no other programm running at that time (soft reset is the only way to get rid of that).
I was wondering if it could not be related to a very big number of contacts ? Did you solve the problem ?
This may be due to you using either Opera or IE and not flushing the cache - in Opera, go to the Settings menu, click on the Privacy button and then click on the Delete Cache button. In IE, select Memory, Tools, Options then select the Memory tab and click the Delete Files button. I don't know if this will fix your problem, but I had a similar problem on previous HTC/WinMobile handsets with limited RAM and this process always helped - it's not a bad housekeeping routine either.
For me, I can't fix this problem by deleting browsers cash or any temporary files... Still the same issue, only controled by a soft reset...
Reduce memory allocation for ResProxy, it may help.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\ResProxy]
"ShareMemSize"=dword:00400000
Do a soft reset after the change.

Sorry but I don't have any ResProxy string in my [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\]...
my suggestion would be to get a new ROM quite frankly.

services.exe

hi all.
i've searched the Leo forum for this question but could not find an answer.
Everytime i start up my Leo i've get an error with services.exe had to shut down due to an error.(in dutch)
The same thing happens for opera.exe too!
On some webpages it shutdowns, and it asks me to send a report microsoft.
When i press Send the report it just opens opera.exe again but it wont react to anything.
I am running 1.48 rom and have just 15mb phone storage left.
I first thought it shutdowns because of low memory but second thought it has nothing to do with the storage space.
Actually, when it shutdown my phone is just running normaly.
But if it shutdowns due to an error, its not good I guess?
Use to happen when you install some 3rd party apps (wmlonglife sometimes does that), try a hard reset if it.s not an issue reinstalling all the apps, and see which one causes this. Another thing that you could do is reset all your data services (twitter, facebook etc.) and se if it works. (Basically services.exe is still running although you get the error at startup)

i didnt install all the apps seperate.

I have the same issue, only started yesterday so I can narrow down which apps I installed and remove them to see which may have caused it
