Does anyone know how to unlock wm6 extended rom for the touch? I want to remove all that Sprint crap and setup my own programs. I've been using total commander, but can't figure the correct path. Thanks in advance for any help.

Tried to upload it to the FTP but it said I didn't have the rights. Can someone PM me the details so I can toss the files up?

just uploaded it...
It's now on the FTP site with the rest of the Wizard Extended ROMs

Have you unlocked your extended ROM?
Have you unlocked your extended ROM? I'm really in need of the unlocker for a 6700 so I can run the DOC tool and make my ROM larger. Thanks so much!
Matt
What does each cab/file in the extended ROM do? I get most of them, but I'm specifically curious about Cert_SPCS and Cert_SPCS.sa

I don't have the 6700. I have a K-Jam and a friend just bought the 6700. I wanted to grab the extended ROM before he started to hack around with his new phone.
I haven't a clue what any of them do and I know he won't let me play with his new phone. He's gun-shy about that stuff.
When the new K-Jam ROM comes out, I'll try to figure out what they all do.

I have a 6700 and have unhidden the extended rom, but I cant seem to get it unlocked where I can remove things.... Has anyone been able to do this yet?
I am trying to unlock the extended ROM of the MDAcompact.
I can see the \Extended_ROM folder but it is write protected.
The unlocker for Universal and BlueAngel/Himalaya does not work.
Has anybody unlocked the extended rom of an magician successfully?
Have also searched this forum but could not find anything?
Thanks for any hints!
Sucker.
Why you call me sucker?
If your brain is so intelligent then
please share your knowledge with me.
Is it possible to remove the write protection only?
AFAIK, there is no tool to unlock the Extended ROM of the Magician.
If you wish to use the extra storage.. try Big-Storage ROMs.. there are may of them in the FTP
Cheers
Thanks duke911 for this info.
I know the Big-Storage ROM feature, but I want
to place my own cab file in the extended rom so
that it will be installed after hard reset.
But when not possible I cannot do this. :?
You can cook your own ROM if you wish, with your own Extended ROM files.. But this is a bit hard :?
I read a guid about this somewhere here ( in Magician upgrading ) it tells everything about creating you own BigStorage ROM with Extened ROM.. etc
you may search there...
Cheers

Pls that's a complete copy of a xda-developers thread, one of ours. Just search for bal666 posts about it!!!!!
Great, that is what I am looking for.
Thanks to everyone.
Hello everyone, I have lkooked through this forum for the past few days trying to find the Cingular CAB Files, so I can download them. If anyone can point me ot the right place and or link, I would greatly appreciate it. I have the ROM and tried some of the tools posted all over this board, but was unable to get to them. I have an iMate K-Jam with Rom 2.x, so I am unable to use the CID unlocking tools in order to use the Cingular ROM and I can not downgrade to the previous Imate K-Jam ROM either, so I have tried everything I knew how to do. Again, I would appreciate it, if someone could please post or point me in the right direction for the Cingular 8125 CAB Files. Thanks
Try this:

THank you, yes, I have looked a thtose pages you posted in the link several times, however, there are still no CAB files for Cingular, yes they are baked into the ROM update, but I can not update since CID unlock does not work on AKU2 ROMS and I can not downgrade either. So what I really need are the Cingular 8125 Extended ROM Cab files.
Why can't you downgrade?

Here's the original.
I am using an unlocked cingular 8125...if i use that updated cingular rom, i cant use an unlocked phone anymore?
whats with that? if its correct?
Some people say that when you upgrade to AKU2 the phone is locked again and you cannot unlock it. Some people also say that you can unlock it prior to AKU2 and it will remain unlocked when you upgrade.
Thank you very much rumpnet, I appreciate your help.
is there any way to uninstall the network wizard that comes preinstalled with the dopod rom? i have the notification disabled but i would prefer if the app wasn't there at all.
If that is possible, I will be happy to get rid of old verion of Opera and Papago10 from Powermap 1.1.2 ROM ....
eazyvg: opera&papago are in rom - that means there is no way to uninstal only to flash another ROM, or utilz for cooking roms(imgfs_tools...) and remove it from there
just waiting for dutty to get his easy nbh tool working for the artemis then i can remove the network wizard cab from the ext. rom and reflash the rom - cool - come on dutty urry up mate!
So, u wanna say that it is possible to use some utility and cook/modify the Powermap 1.1.2 ROM, by simply removinf the files associated with the apps that I don't need .... is it that simple! Let me know where I can grab the util and if not difficult for (or someone else) to write a small tutorial/tips for this.
Tnx.

err...yes you can do this, but it is not that simple, a 'small' tutorial would be fairly useless. Your best bet is to do like myself and others who use this forum do - research and test and research and test and research and test!
Willyfxp, did you get any further with the removal of Network Wizard from the Dopod rom? I would love to get that nagging notification gone 4 ever
At every reboot I get the "your current operator (20416) is not supported. You should obtain an update from your device vendor"....
Thanks for letting me know
Hey all,
i am... well a newbie. I have been reading around the forums for quite a while now trying to decide how to upgraded my orbit 2. I have read most of the threads with OS and radio upgrades and i'm still needing a little advice.
Can i ask anyone who has an orbit 2 what have you done? I want to upgrade everything on the device as its really slow and unresponsive.
Before i change things i would like to organise my sms, but i haven't found a tool to mange these from the pc. Has anyone any suggestions?
Since i am not sure about the OS roms, i thought it might be best to let you know what i have installed on top of the original O2 os rom.
I want to keep the copilot sat nav. I have htc home and customizer installed, google maps, internet sharing application, myfunambol, opera, resco reg editor and file explorer, and core player.
I am staying with o2 so i will need the operator settings from somewhere.
Is it best that i just update the o2 os rom, and the radio rom and install what i need or is there a cooked rom which would suit my requirements more?
Is this threadhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=373233&highlight=rom+collected and this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379599 up to date?
thanks!
