Has anyone thought about linking the screen orentation to VueFLO so it automatically changes depending on the orientaiton of the device? Is this possible? I would certainly be interested

Good Idea!
would LOVE to see that....
Would VueFLO be able to tell the difference between tilting the device to the left (when in landscape) and rotating it into portrait?
A really REALLY cool idea though
Less talk and more results !!!
This would be truly a great app to have on the advantage. Anyone out there willing to build this app for us, it would be appreciated to the entire forum.
is it possible....and if so..how..?? doesnt VueFlo..uses manual buttons..can any1 care to explain if its possible or not..buh if it is..then it wud be great

Believe me, If I could, I would.
Some coding god needs to reverse engineer to vueflo apps to work out how the hardware is accessed. After that, any coder can do it just like the iphone/ipod people are all making stuff that uses the accelerometer in them.
Its not an easy task. We need somebody in HTC to leak the details really.
Arya, so you were never able to fix your phone call recording problem? The built-in recorder handles it, I forget now why you were still having a problem. Off-topic, I know, discuss on the original thread.
On-topic, the motion sensor on the hard drive is just that... a motion sensor. Not an orientation sensor (like mercury switches are). Just turning the unit on its side won't let the OS know its now on its side, however, by adding some kind of motion code it will work just fine. Like shaking it twice downward in the direction you want to be down. Shaking it once would produce too many false changes, but twice or maybe 3 times would send the right message.
This type of phone input has been in the news a lot lately, along with vibration as a feedback. The idea on the news is you would shake your phone to see if you have any messages waiting, and it would vibrate back if you do. Unfortunately since the Athena doesn't have a vibration motor the output part isn't possible, but the input part is, since it has the motion sensors already! (the lack of vibration is one of the top-5 flaws of this device, IMO, hopefully it will get added on the X7502)
So, taking the topic of this thread one step further, how about creating an application that launches apps based on motion input? Yes I know there is a program out there that lets you reprogram most of the function buttons to do this (I forget its name at the moment, I haven't bought it yet), but adding motion to this mix would be so much cooler!
shake it baby?
these ideas seam very good but sahaking it multiple times and to open programs seams like it may cause problems because our device is just tooo big, imagine to shake or rotate ur device a specific way to get pie running (maybe it could be shaken to the rythem of ur favourite song (which has to be the Smashing Pumpkins..) and it shakes out of your hand on to the concrete pavement below wooops!!! just imagine the insurance form for that
Well, the unit's motion sensitivity is quite high. Easily confirmed by changing the viewflo sensitivity to high and then gently tilting the unit when you are in a browser. You wouldn't have to create martinis or milkshakes to launch an app, just a gentle flick or two will do. A downside of all this is carrying it around would present problems (either on your belt or in your hand). Even if you ignore the g-sensors when the cover is on, the cover-on switch is so faulty you might get to work and find that you wired $150 Euros to the Red Cross and sent all your checking account information to some guy in Nigeria.

why did i just know someone would suggest this. hahaha prolly cause i thought that too! hahaha
1 reason of many i can think of is Iphone look alike
Hi, i'm interested in an iphone-like app too.
I still can't understand why HTC inserted a hardware which can handle with orientation, and then it's only possible to use scolling in PIE or Opera.
Why not Scrolling in PIE AND Opera. I love this feature, and want it always and for other apps too, like Rotate Screen automaticly, skip music file or backwards in WMP, Forward/backward in PIE/Opera when moved left/right.
I don't unterstand this. The difficult part is the integration of hardware, and HTC didn't develop a simple app which makes the hardware really do what it is supposed to do.
I even don't believe they added the G-Sensor for the Microdrive.
nothing new?
even with the new softwares incluede in devices such as Omnia or Diamond?
Here's the flash menu ported from Samsung i718, Its very cool & working nice on my touch.
tHANKS!! I've got a couple of friends with i718's and always thought the menu was slick. Great job and thanks again!
very nice, well done working great on my hermes
So we must have flash player installed on our device prior using this application?
nope no flash player. it seems to be an actual app
Is that how you spell "Organiser"?
Also, is there a way to edit the programs targets in the registry or something?

i dono yet. found this over at Ipmart yesterday though. I tossed it on my touch and my brothers mogul and its sweet. Even my mom was able to navigate WM6 once we showed her this. I'm sure someone will find out how to edit it real soon. Possible skins anyone???
Nice find!
i find that the i718 or something like that, looks really a lot like the shadow,
maybe tmobile copied it
o, and by the way, nice find, but the launcher doesnt look like like the ones ive seen one the phone
I've read a few sites on this phone now and the opinion varies a bit. One place I found that was good for expert reviews and real life opinion on the Samsung SGH I718 even had a few photos and the like which i found helpful. Hope that helps others that landed here doing their own research:->
This is HEX-edit job not a regeistry job.
windows\launcher.exe can be HEX editet for customizing.

Yeah, we definitely need some adjustments to this. I would like to add a clock to the home screen.
Some Questions
Some link in this interface haven't a workings properly, How I can solve this problem?
love this app, just wish i could customize it, or even just get rid of the dead links. would love just to have the messaging and favorites pages.
Yeah.. I'd really like to add my own menus to this.
I am not sure whether this is the right place to post my first attempt on Pocket PC or not in view of all the important and usefull applications.
But maybe you also have seen people playing Impossible Mission on IPhone and maybe you also wanted something like that for your XDA.
If you are interested, please check what I have created so far.
Very first Beta, only tested on XDA Prophet.
*Update*
Thank you all for your feedback
It boosts my notion to build some updates soon:
fight latency/delay
costum sounds
scrollable more keys/sounds
simple but good... thanks..
wow
thank you i love it
good..but i have 0.5 sec of latency
I have one minor complaint... Some of the notes aren't quite in tune
And one feature request: Having the sounds stored as files so that a "voice" can be selected/changed.
lol thats cool!
better sounds and less delay would be aweseome
Thanks...
It's working great on my X-tel WM5...
+1 for the:

i have 0.1 s latency on my HIMALAYA
work mostly perfect
Hi I'm a musician, so forgive me please
feature Request:
better sounds
faster latency
Some notes are really not in tune!
not only one octave, would be nice to make it changeable
But thank you very much!!! really good for a first attempt!!!
ruebyi
It's running very smoothly on my Prophet, but I want more octaves!
Keep up the great work!
slight delay on HTC TOUCH
but i like it!
So it is very first beta yeah?. Now it is good but in future it can be awsome! More octaves please
Sorry, forgot to mention, it works with some delay on my XDA Terra
Works perfectly on Herald and Prophet (WM6 Both).
Thank you very much! Keep up good work.
Thanks! This is really cool. Works well on my Wizard. There is only one thing Im missing, a scroll or something to "move" the PPCiano. Keep up good work!
I've noticed a little quirk (at least on my Prophet) with the sounds. The first time each key is pressed, it has a small amount of lag between the keypress and the sound. After the initial press, the sound is almost instantaneous...

noticed the exact same thing after starting the program..pressing each key did initially have a small lag. But then they responded instantly afterwards.

I think a great way of adding more keys/octaves would be the ability to "grab" the keys and drag them across the screen to reveal further octaves...
Yes i also was thinking of something like that in these times of touch flow fever
hi.
i need an application for my diamond to find it easier. maybe you guys know the old keychain-thing ... you make a whistle sound and the device made a sound so you could find your keychain.
i´m thinking about an app always running behind (so it should not be very power/ressource consuming) where you can simply choose the sound from your ringtones and maybe define the whistle-sound like on voice dial. in the final version integrated in the whole windows sound-option menu ... just dreamin´
hope there is a developer out there who likes the idea as much as i.
greetz from germany

wow that would be awesome!
Great idea! Though I've never lost any phone, always know where it is
unless it is on silent like my one allways is. Afterall you could just phone your phone from an anotherone
I'd love something like that!
That would be a brilliant app.
Awesome idea
+1 for me, would be a nice feature!
+ 1.
Great idea !!!
glad you guys like the idea ... somebody out there capable of programming this?

is this really possible? i mean, if you put your phone somewhere and you don't use it for a certain time, it will switch to standby and then it won't hear you whistling
The new Microsoft My phone in the app store is free and you can make your phone ring, but you need to use your computer
I have a need for speed game for the tp2 that works with the g sensor and is pretty damn fun. I just loaded the .cab file and it worked flawlessly. Its friggin cool. Adding some screenshots don't know if I'm allowed to post the actual game or not so I will wait till someone tells me its cool. if you want it before then pm me with your email and I'll send it to you as soon as possible. thanks to thugs dude you rock.
PM sent (= And thanks for sharing with all of us!
Many thanks Justin - works perfectly
No Problem, Will try to find more to keep us busy till the SPL is here.
I have a question about the NFS: Undercover game.
I have the game aswell on my TP2. But it plays in portrait mode native, unless you slide out the keyboard, then i goes landscape.
Now on my friends Touch HD, it plays in landscape mode natively. Any idea how i can change it so it will do that on my TP2 aswell?
Playing with the keyboard out is less effective then without, since you still have to press some buttions on the screen.
Thanks in advance.
I have tried myself. I would think that you would have to set your screen rotation so that it changes without the sliding of the keyboard. I have only had the game myself for about 3 days so if I find a definite solution I will lwt you know. Im still getting used to modding these phones as the switch from ttyn II to rapheal to rhodium was incredibly fast for me and the fact that not all are compatible when using modifications is frustrating as hell, I get to know one device and not all that well might I add when a new one comes out. Oh to have all my problems come in a sweet little package with a bright screen and keyboard.
These kinds of games don't belong on an ARM device. The Touch Pro 2 is strictly a business end pocket PC. I'm waiting to see what the HTC Superstar has in store when it comes out
The only games that should be created for the TP2 are G-sensor games, like the Teeter. Unfortunately no one ever develops decent applications for Windows Mobile at the moment, they all focus on the iPhone.
This game works with the g-sensor. Try it before you knock it man its cool being able to steer by tilting your device.
Can anyone post a CAB or download link??? I now have the version with touch control but would really like the gsensor version!!!
PM sent. Awaiting reply anxiously. Thanks a lot.
PM Sent Any one can share this game?
Pm sent, thanks

Pretty sure this is piracy. I'm sure you have to pay for this game. For all those who are asking for it, it's not hard to find by yourself. But don't expect this thread to stay open for long....

Did you manage to set it to autorotate? I tried to add the NFS_Underground.exe tot the HTC sensor whitelist in the registry but it doesn tilt. Only when I flip the keyboard it runs in landscape...
hey, please send me a link to that game too. I get my touch pro 2 this week
thanx
gyrator2 will put the game in landscape mode just fine, just be sure to not tilt the phone too far in corners or it will flip the game back to portrait for a bit
And yes, this game is a paid app normally, so spreading it would be piracy. It is however easy to find on the internets (try the name of the game and the name of a well known p2p protocol on google )
