not pass 32 - 48 kbps
Well, if you intend to speed your web browsing speed, your best chance is to use Opera Mini, which besides speeding things is the best browser around.
If you have the knowledge to set it up, you can also use rabbIT which is a free web proxy that compresses web pages before sending them to your terminal.
someone posted a reg hack
there was a reg hack that sped up the opening of web pages, where you would put in your proxy server address, it was marginally quicker a search should find it.

I have just bought an Orange SPV M5000. I want to be able to login to a certain web page with a username and password. The webpage requires that i have javascript enabled. My question is can i have javascript on Mobile Internet Explorer and where would i get it ?
Many Thanks

Not at the moment. I think you'll have to wait for the Netfront browser to be updated for WM5 before you see Java on any web pages (or possibly the opera browser if they ever get round to it...)
I am wondering if there is a way to configure my cingular 8125 to go to the real web site and not the wap version. it does this for espn, yahoo, cbssportsline and others. i would prefer to browse the real net.
I believe this is a function of the websites checking your browser version and returning content they deem appropriate.
Check by installing another browser on your device, perhaps one that is not widely used, and try loading those same web pages.
there is a registry tweak for PIE that makes websites think its a regular desktop browser. i did it before on my ipaq. i don't know it right now, sorry.
Other than that if you want a better browser and you want to view regular html websites get the OPERA browser. I use it all the time. Its like Firefox but mobile.
i have tryed to download the opera browser but something isnt working right. can someone help with that
OK, this is driving me crazy, I've tried several browsers and can't get OWA to work on my T-Mobile MDA with the TMO internet $5.99 plan. It does work with Opera or NetFront on WiFi. Here's what I've tried so far:
* IE Mobile (PIE) - OWA does not work, even with WiFi. As reported in other forums, this browser does not open the authentication pop-up. Adding PIEplus didn't help, nor did Multi IE (although they seem to be handy programs).
* Opera - OWA works w/Wifi but not w/$5.99 plan. The latter gives error message "The proxy server requested a login authentication method that is not supported." This is because, to surf the web with this plan, it is necessary to configure a proxy server, and (according to the Opera web page), this browser does not support Microsoft's proprietary protocols for encrypted authentication with a proxy server.
* NetFront - same as Opera.
* MiniMo - Had heard that this browser is not yet very capable, but wanted to try it anyway. Could not get it to work at all, would not open any web pages and often froze.
Any ideas for other things to try?
Thanks much,
B

We can only use a certian port with the 5.99 plan. We cant get access to the others that the programs need
How do i set up auto switching between Media Net & MyISP?
I want to use CV but it has to connect thru a proxy under Media NEt. Some web site does not work thru a proxy, so i want to switch back to MyISP when browsing.
I wasnt aware you could have this done automatically. Only solution I know of is to manually switch it. Would love to be wrong here.
The easiest way to solve your problem is to use NetFront. NetFront has settings to use a proxy server, so you can still use the MyISP connection and just have NetFront to access CV. You can use PIE for your normal web browsing.
There is no auto-switching available. How often do you use CV? I don't use it a whole lot so when I want to view CV, I just switch connections.
that is what ive been reading through out this forum. I was hoping to avoid an extra peice of software just for CV. Netfront does eat up a lot of memory.
I was just wondering if anyone else was getting very fast 3g speeds like I am running android. On winmo I get around 1000 kbps and when running android I get over 6000. I'm not complaining I'm just astonished by how much fast my speeds have been.
Sent from my HD2 running Android using XDA App
I see that you are using Opera Mini. You should know how opera mini works:
You request a page (mobilespeedtest.com) -> request is sent to opera server -> opera server sends the request to mobilespeedtest.com -> mobilespeedtest.com sends reply to opera server -> opera server recreates the page -> opera server send the recreated page to your browser.
So the speed you see on the browser is the speed between the opera server and mobile speed test server.
Android has a good app to check speeds. search for speed test in the market. The app by speedtest.net is good and will give you accurate results.
you used speedtest.net app gives good results
you can also choose a server nearby you
