hi guys
I am using imate jasjam with wm6 premium, i am having a problem with the wifi..
When i switch on the wifi, it detects the unsecured network at my home which does not have any username or password but when i press connect it trys to connect (via vpn) with it but is not able to complete the connection and a window pops up saying:
"cannot connect to the network. Check your service provider settings and try again"
but the same network i used with wm5 and with the same settings, it easily connected with the network........

I tried to use Wifi in a cafe, the wireless lan manager show connected to network, buy when i open IE, my PDA always trying to connect with GPRS service. the wifi seems not working, and i could not open a web page.
could some one tell me what should i do :idea:

pick something other then my isp or what ever the gprs connection is called

i tried today in starbucks, but the GPRS seems still comes up, i picked up my work network, tap edit, there are only three option, 1, auto pick 2, O2 active
3, WAP network
when i open IE, it always inform me, connect to O2 active, then Dialed: Then answering modem has disconnected. To check your connection setting and change them if needed, tap setting.
the wifi connection is realy confuse me, dose any one know how to connect to internet in a cafe or airport??
When you've got wifi enabled make sure that Settings->Connections->Network Cards has My Network Card connects to "The Internet".

I'm using a Qtek 2020i which I believe is the same as a xdaIIi. I have a wireless network set up at home and have managed to connect to it with the built-in Wlan device in my Qtek but every time I try to connect to the internet or send/receive emails it tries to connect to gprs even though it shows wifi is connected.
I have read some of the other forum posts here and many of them say to check that my network card is set to connect to the internet however where it says 'my network card connects to' there is only a blank box after it - no option to choose work or internet??
Has anyone got any advice on how to resolve this issue.

that is already the case so it can't be that I'm afraid
I am having the same problem with my MDA Vario(KJam).
It tries to connect to GPRS even if i have wireless lan connected
anyone know how i can sort this

As noted in another post, simply creating a dummy gprs connection created a default conne tion instead of the telco gprs.
Hi i'm new in this pda-world
recently i just got iMate JAMin.......but i'm not sure with the wifi connection at home, for some reason it allows me to connect to pocket MSN but when i try to browse using the pocket IE.....it keeps connecting to the GPRS......... is there anyway to change the connection to the wifi connection???

Start>Settings>Connections>Network Cards
Click on your home wifi and ensure the "Connects to" says Internet
Now goto
Start>Settings>Connections>Connections
Click on Advanced and then Select networks and ensure the top box has your ISP selected.
OK I don't know if this is possible but with my Hermes(WM6) connected to my PC via USB using activesync 4.5. Can I get it to connect to the internet via the PC's internet connection (cable LAN to router).
I don't have wireless LAN ((

if the pda is connected and my network is choosen as connection in
system settings network.....
in the pda
then it have access to thee same network as the pc it sync with
same thing with bluetooth sync
If I go into manage networks it only shows T-mobile and if I try set a new network they are all dial up types. when I try to connect to the internet I just get an error message saying connection was lost
i go into settings->connections-connections->advanced->sellect network
i get 2 dropdownbox's with my isp and my work network
if i pick my work network i only have network access over activesync
ok I tried that and all i still get is the connection lost error????????
I have also tried it on a wireless network, it connects fine and then the the same error

I'm having a very strange issue with my Internet connection on the niki.
I have configured the default Internet connection (the one without VPN and Proxy config) to use the ISP parameters to connect to GPRS.
It connects but it's not working (I tried to navigate with IE but got error opening page).
So I created a new connection (in this case I could set up a proxy, but I left empty), with the same ISP config, selected it as the network to be use automatically to connect to internet, and it works very well.
Any idea about this strange behaviour?

GPRS configuration
hi somehow i try to configure gprs settings on wm5 & wm6 i know the proxy,apn,user name and password for my service provider but somehow it shows connecting the error- unable to connect due to some unknow error ( how strange) can any say how they got they windows mobile phone to connect using gprs models i tried - htc 8925, tmobile wing, htc touch, htc s620 help please
