I found a cheap Celxpert battery for the Wizard - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hey guys, I used to own a Wizard and just found this awesome deal on super cheap batteries for the Wizard. I believe these are the Celxpert brand that comes with these phones normally. Here it is for about $5 shipped.

the battery is not for Wizard, it is for Artemis (dopod p800)

Oh sorry, I just thought it was it because it looked exactly the same with the same capacity.

Just the ticket,
Will wait and see if it turns out OK.

did i get a good deal?

I just bought an XDA II off ebay for $292 plus 21.00 shipping with only a incar charger, did i get a good deal and will a XDA I cradle work with teh XDA II?
XDA2
Hey. I just got an XDA2 from ebay, too. How's your reception? Mine doesn't hardly ever get a signal with tmobile here in California. I paid $400 for mine, so sounds like you got a better deal than I did.
seattleboi1982,
i think you did get a good deal, just make sure the unit's functioning well and isn't a brick as to the cradle; not sure coz i never did get to try out the xda1's cradle with the xda2. BUT; i do have a sync-cable which i used for my xda1; when i sold the unit i kept the cable and am now using it for the xda2. it works well; plugging in syncs the unit and charges it as well. the only issue i could think of would be the size differences (????) if any.
cheers

you'll be lucky! even with the wm2005 upgrade they are nowhere near as good as a universal. And HP sell refurb ones on ebay for about £200....

You've been trying to sell this for the last for months it seems - stick it in the m.e.n or the loot! Or stick it on ebay - asking the same things in different threads won't necessarily get you different answers....perhaps if you posted a price that you wanted rather than asking for offers. As I guide I sold a mint one on ebay last week for £300. The sooner you sell it, the more it'll sell for - the price of new technology goes down, not up, with age.

Mine is worth more than a refurb one because I have:
iPaq HX4700 (as new boxed) With WM5 installed
Original cradle, instructions, cables, disks and box etc
3 stylus including 1 with built in pen
Spare Battery 2000mAh x 2
Spare Battery 3600mAh x 1
External standalone charger for spare batteries
Additional power/sync cable
HP emergency charger (works off 9v battery)
Clip-on Thumbpad (part no 375265-001)
GPS - Rikaline X6 High Sensitivity CF Receiver (brand new still in box unused except for testing)
I agree , E-bay is crap ! I have just tried to sell my Exec and ended up in a tricky situation with a buyer with no feedback trying to get me to send to and unverified address - Paypal state that I'll only be covered by the seller protection policy if I send to a verified address , But I mailed e-bay about the matter and they suggested I go ahead and sell to the guy anyway ! talk about contradiction !
This is the third succesive time I have tried to sell an item on ebay and had the auction end with some idiot trying to rip me off
E-bay only seem to be interested in collecting their fee
Fortunately , I found a buyer oustside of ebay , and should I be looking to sell anything in the future , I'll be doing the same
Ebay just seems to be a big headache where higher value items are concerned these days :?

Hp's have *warranty* as well, and the 'refurb' classification is a generalisation, I have it on good authority the ebay items are brand new end of line with a full 2 yr warranty. They're even selling them from hp's www.ipaqchoice.co.uk site for £250! All the accesories are cheap too....
Richard
I can't help myself...
Ipaq choice are not cheap for accessories. If you purchase the accessories from Ipaq Choice you would pay £519.48 The following prices are cut and paste directly from the Ipaq Choice website
(they exclude VAT),
Screen Protectors Covertec £9.36
Battery 1,800 mAh (hx4700 series) HP £48.51
Extended Battery 3,600mAh (hx4700) HP £82.55
iPAQ 9-Volt Emergency Power Adapter HP-Belkin £8.51
USB Power Sync Travel Kit Belkin £29.78
Stylus 3-Pack Replacement Kit HP £11.91
Thumb Keyboard HP £27.23
SD Card (512MB) HP £62.12
GPS Receiver G-Space £110.63
HP iPAQ hx4700 Pocket PC HP £295.74
You are welcome to think that the HX4700 is nowhere near as good as a HTC Universal, however I personally think both PDAs have pros and cons. The biggest con for the HX4700 is the lack of built in phone and 3G (although it wasn't orginally purchased as that type of device). While the HTC Universal is relatively big and heavy, and as good as the screen is, it's still not as good or big as the HX4700. Not everyone wants their phone built in to a PDA.
I've made a choice that I need my phone built into my PDA, and I need 3G speed so I have a HTC Universal, however it took me many months to finally accept that I could not keep using 2 PDAs. I've lived with both devices for a long time and it's not as clear cut as "the HX4700 is nowhere near as good as a universal".

I didn't say the accesories were cheap from ipaqchoice, I said ipaqchoice sell the refurb units, and that the accesories were cheap - the batteries are on ebay.

I've still got them both, and I've also run the wm2005 update for the hx4700 ( did you? It's only just out - the official version I mean  )
and do not rate it in comparison for the Universal. There is a lag opening menus despite the fast processor, and the display on the ipaq doesn't compare with my toshiba e800 or the jasjar in VGA.
Richard
I obvioulsy misunderstood about your mention of cheap accessories
There are some good registry tweaks for getting the HX4700 running smoothly, they are different to the HTC Universal ones. In my opinion I got the HX4700 running faster. I use a USA ROM and yes I've only had it installed for 3 weeks but that was long enough to get to know the performance.
My wife has my old Toshiba e800 and again in my opinion the screen is not as good as the iPaq. I'm sorry if you don't like me having a different opinion to you.
I have already said how good I think the HTC Universal is - I already own one!
I respect your opinions and I also like other PDA's!
Be happy

Just want know where can i get good replacement battery.
I got mine in expansys and is the same with the exception of the piece of metal that helps to release the battery. But it works ok without it.
I got one from gpsforless, badged up as cameron sino, but sanyo branding on the back of it, the same as that 2nd link.

How much did you pay for your Wizard?

Hi all,
Figure I'd start a little topic that hopefully isn't a dupe.
I'm just wondering how much you all paid for your devices, and where/when you bought them?
I've only had my Wizard a few days - I got it 2nd hand from a company that were upgrading all their employees phones. ~£40 (~$80) is the price I paid (xe.com if you wanna convert that into euros etc!) which I thought was a great price for such a fun bit of kit. There are a lot of scratches/dents on the case and the left softkey doesn't work but apart from that it's running perfecto!
I've upgraded the IPL/SPL to 3.08, flashed it with TNT WM6 and set up VoIP calling. I'm awaiting an SD card before I play around any further.
So how much did you pay for yours?
Thinking of selling this little Wizard - interested?!
Well, I just got mine 3 days ago. Got it from a Pawn Shop for a cool 20USD! The whole stipulation was that the battery didnt hold a charge, so I went to my local battery store and bought a 20USD battery and it works like a champ! The other stipulation was that it COULD NOT be unlocked to anyone other than Cingular(seeing as its a Cingular 8125).....bbbuuutttt, I can home and used the lokwiz tool and voila! Unlocked Wizard!!! So for 40USD, I dont think that I did too bad!;P
Got mine brand new for about £80 off egay.
Got a 2GB SD card off Play.com for about £12.

Cool deal!
Also to mention I got mine boxed with all the original accessories & a leather case which adds to the overall value-for-money. All in all I'm very pleased!
Hoping my SD card arrives tomorrow as I'm craving installing and messing about with some new apps
Got my VPA Compact II from a friend in Germany for 100€ with 2Gb card.
MaX
Sniped mine of eBay yesterday... £55 p&p for...
unlocked XDA Mini S in Original Box (with the usual: charger, spare stylus, USB sync cord, instructions etc...)
1gb SD card (said 1gb in auction, arrived with 2gb )
GPS reciever
TomTom 5+6
leather? case
can't wait for it to arrive
i got mine free from cingluar... i had the treo 680... and i traded it in the 8125....
got it first when it came out $300 dollars plus serivce. almost 2.5 years later still using it. Best phone i've had thus far.
Mine was free on a contract - UK T-mobile £22.50 a month with unlimited web and walk. I'm 12 months into an 18 month contract - despite unlocking it and flashing with WM6 I'm kind of tired of the phone now - it's a bit clunky and ugly compared with what's out there now. Don't think I'll get a phone with a built in keyboard again as I hardly ever use it.
Mind you I've dropped the flipping thing about 6 times this week and it's still going strong
Got mine when it was new about two years ago for $399, including a 1GB card, car charger, and a bluetooth headset. I've been nothing but happy with it.
i paid US$450 for it from cingular, that was almost 2 years ago
20 bux
i got mine from a friend downgrading to the iphone for 20 bux and some free guitar lessons almost a year ago
i paid 40 for mine
Mine was $300. I got it two years ago.
Paid $95 for mine off eBay almost two years ago to the day. Some guy was trying to
upgrade the radio and couldn't get it going again. The thing was brand new. After reading
on this forum for a couple of days, put it in bootloader mode, reloaded the software and
still going strong. I had thought to sell it back to the guy (they were going for about $400
at the time i think)
i paid $170 for my 8125 (used but it looks new). i am plaining to get the 8925(cause this one has GPS built in)
Paid £35 on Ebay - just got the phone (in nice condition - hardly a scratch) with a single stylus, no charger or any accessories. I have a HTC Artemis (T-Mobile MDA Compact III) as well, the charger from that works fine, so no worries.
Main problem was that the dork who sold it me, , had not unlocked/reset the phone so I could not initially get it going. A quick search led me to you guys and I quickly found the instructions on resetting it - works a treat now, have since picked up a 2GB SD cad from SVP for £7.50, so now have a cracking phone/PDA for less than £50.

What replacement battery would you recommend for HTC Universal

Hi All,
Firstly, this is my first post, so please be gentle with me. (correction, I mean the first thread i have started)
I scoured the forum and have found lots of comments on the ilk of "my battery has failed at x%", but no-one seems to have made any comments on a replacement battery that they recommend or a web link that you could use to purchase one.
So, of you guys and girls that have bought a replacement, can you please give us the benefit of your experience regarding what you feel is great or what to avoid like the plague?
Thanks one and all!
James

Always buying the original battery is my recommendation
There is a member called Duke Nukem, he sells the originals and he´s reliable
Akku Polarcell
Hi,
I bought a new battery and everything works fine. I can use my universal with activated wlan till 0%. Also the charging-time decreased enormous. The battery comes from ebay (Germany).
Label: Akku Polarcell, For Qtek 9000, 3.7V Li-Polymer Battery, 1650mAh
Price: 14,90€
Seller: wannsee-electronic
Bye
I bought my battery from eBay - the cheapest one I could find. It works ok, but not as good as the original. I think others have had bad experiences and it seems really hit and miss on eBay, so I would only go on recommendation from someone else. The original was so expensive, I really couldn't justify spending that much!
I think you mean this is the first thread you have opened I've seen you about. That name of yours kind of sticks in the memory. (Dont explain. we dont want to know)
I got a new battery off a UK seller on Ebay 7-8 weeks ago for £5 plus P&P. He said it was genuine and it looked like the genuine article. It shorted out after 4 weeks but he sent me another. so far so good. What do you get for under a tenner?
