I have the same problem.

hey defcomg,
I think the tutorial for signing apps went completely unnoticed in the other thread, so i'll just repost the stuff here if thats ok. (maybe you should open a new thread for that). Just so that everyone can sign their own apps if they want to (I did this with the latest Opera Mini Mod version and it really rocks!)
Just find&open the MANIFEST.MF in the .jar file (open with WinRAR) and append the following lines:
Code:

Thanks again defcomg for supplying this information!!

Great stuff (albeit I haven't tested it). Please stick to discussing Opera Mini here (no mods or anything) because I link to it from the official OM forum. Therefore, I'll remove any mod-related discussion from here.

I've manually signed OM4 (build 4.0.9751) this way (I've also made it available at http://www.winmobiletech.com/sekalaiset/opera-mini-4.0.9751-advanced-int-SIGNED.jar if anyone wants to test it ) .
Under WM, with TAO, it didn't install at all; with Jbed, it didn't have access to the Net at all (tested on two different devices, where the unsigned version works OK). My Nokia N95 and Jblend didn't recognize the certificate as trusted.

SigninG 4 Jblend and OtheR jVm'S
To Sign For Jblend Nokia N-95 All Any other Nokia U Need To Put that Code in The Jad and not in The jar and need To upload To suM site And DownloAd With Pocket IE or The devices Default Browser. On Motorola`S you can just install jar it works as signed and by the way i have a wierd jblend not the one melgurth posted one from another device it does not have all that security stuff so a midlet does not have to be signed to set as allow always by the way i was playing with a lg phone and it had esmertec jbed java vm and sony ericsson with jblend advance .Esmertec Jvm Is Created in EvC

Did you install it and it was recognized as trusted?
If it installed as trusted in Jbed,
Menu -> Actions -> Security -> Net Access -> Always Allow
Then it should work -- if it doesn't, let me know.

Guys, feel free to discuss Opera Mini Mod again - after a discussion with the Opera folks, I've removed the link to this thread.

Oops My bad. I've already run into this problem / solution some two months ago, while testing the prev signed stuff but now have forgotten the latter. Working flawlessly.
I'll also test signing with the other MIDlet managers and post an update to the MIDlet Bible.

Hello everybody,
I've downloaded the signed midlel and installed it into my HTC-TyTNII under Jbed and it works flawlessly.
I can set the 'NET' access to 'always'.
TQ very much.
Notes:
My TyTNII comes with Jblend but I like the real full-screen by Jbed thus I installed Jbed and all my midlets will be opened by Jbed.
Regards,
morisa

I’ve played with these techniques a lot and found out that, unless you use the NON-ripped (that is, the one comes pre-installed on your device) Jblend, it’s only by Jbed AND directly editing MANIFEST.MF in the JAR file (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1665380&postcount=4 ) that this will work. It seems nothing will work on the Nokia N95 either (Defcomg, are you absolutely sure your stuff should work on Nokias?).
Here’s the chart showing all this:

(Note that with the non-OEM, that is, ripped version of Jblend, there’s no way to remotely install ANYTHING over-the-air, only via files in the local file system.)

AcTuaLy You Can InsTall ota
You Can InStall oves the air With the ripped version of Jblend You Have To have WapDameon.exe and you gotta use thIs to Open jad and jar "\Windows\JBlend_AMS.exe" -I <%1>. Iv Done This bY the waY my jblend does not require the midlet to be signed for you to set to blanket it how ever requires the midlet to be signed for it to acces your file system JSR 75. Trusted Midlets for Nokia or AnY Device You Have to put the cert in the jad and not the jar the jad iz the manifest.mf so you dont modify the manifest.mf but the jad and change the midlet url to the Direct link of the jar eg http://defcomk.wen.ru/Java/OM4X2.jar and The Jad is http://defcomk.wen.ru/Java/OM4X2.jad So y0u dowNload the jad which TellS Jblend where to fetch the jar.

After installing Jblend (I've been speaking of the one at http://www.winmobiletech.com/092007MidletBible/Jblend.cab ), the Registry becomes the right associations:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jad]
@="jblendfile"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jar]
@="jblendfile"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\jblendFile\Shell\Open\Command]
@="\"\\Storage Card\\Program Files\\Jblend\\JBlend_AMS.exe\" -I <%1>"
That is, JAR / JAD files ARE opened in this way if you click a remote JAD file from Internet Explorer / Opera Mobile / etc.

You might have mistaken it for JblendFullScreen (not the same as the above-linked Jblend), which has no support for network access or M3G at all.
In it, you indeed have the option to use Blanket (as I've also explained in the "Security: Allow permanent Net access without prompting ("Blanket" security model, as opposed to "Session" / "Oneshot")?" row of the chart ( http://www.winmobiletech.com/092007MidletBible/CompatibilityAndMain.html ) of the MIDlet Bible) but, when it comes to network access, it just won't work.

Yup, I've done so. I've tested it with both your online files (of course, I've clicked the remote JAD files) and one of my OM4 JAD files, to which I've appended the cert, available for download at http://www.winmobiletech.com/remoteURL.jad . The latter also refers to http://mini.opera.com/global/opera-mini-4.0.9800-advanced-int.jar (that is, the original, untouched Opera Mini 4 JAR) in the MIDlet-Jar-URL property (feel free to check it). It simply didn't work on my Nokia N95.
Could you please also give my JAD file ( http://www.winmobiletech.com/remoteURL.jad ) (or the two of yours) a try? I've even created a HTML file linking in all these JAD files at http://www.winmobiletech.com/ref.html - feel free to give it a try.
Again, thanks for your help - I'd really like to know how you can "hack" this stuff so that I can help other WinMo / Symbian users on this matter.

Remoteurl.jad
i Tried remoteUrl.jad On My Jblend And It Says its 3rd Party Trusted Application it Downloadz The jar but half i get Authorization error 909 or something like that anyway i think the error has to do with jar you are linking to rather upload the jar to Your Site to eg www.winmobiletech.com/RemoteUrl.jar iT mighT be the jar is Requesting some special permision which jblend is denyin. Iam Using Opera M4 to Post This s0 i Will check the jar later and tell you whats wrong with it. Any news?

Jbed, Jblend, jheadache!!
This thread is giving me a freeking headache.
If someone can simplify the proceedure to make Min4 work without the security check, I'm sure lots of people would be most great full!
I tired tweaking the security file and that did not work.
I have an ATT Tilt with Dutty's latest ROM (note to Dutty - if you can figure it out, why not include the whole mess in your next ROM).
How about a step 1, step 2 with all necessary links included.

T-Mobile US MDA - Java?

Anyone know what files/have the files necessary to put the Java Virtual Machine back on the T-Mobile (US) MDA Load?
Its on the SDA but not the MDA - and this sucks!

Just a simple .lnk file to \Windows\Jmm.exe. AFAIK, the intent Midlet manager comes with all HTC Wizards pre-installed; it's only the link file that is missing.
You can also download this link file from http://www.winmobiletech.com/sekalaiset/MIDlet Manager.lnk
Nope - the FILE is missing! And copying it over from a SDA (which has it) doesn't help - it won't run (may be different link options or somesuch)
It appears that T-Mobile whacked it out of their ROMs! Anyone got a copy of that I can try dropping in there?

http://www.winmobiletech.com/sekalaiset/jmm.zip - give this a try. Unpack it to \Windows. Let me know if it works/doesn't work.
WORKS, kinda.
It comes up but won't load the GLM software. Not quite sure why.... looking at that now.
Update - says it failed to run image \windows\target.img
Looks like there's one file missing in that archive.

What JAR file is that? Midlet manager is only able to run non-device-specific midlets - that is, NOT Nokia/Sony-Ericsson etc. specific ones. With other stuff, it'll report about invalid JAR files.

OIC... the generic MIDP2 version works great on my Qtek 1.6.7.1 ROM.
Leave it to T-Mobile to cripple the damn thing....
I've also been playing around with getting java on the T-Mob US MDA. I didn't have the benefit of an SDA, but on the ftp site I found various extended roms for the Wizard. Specifically on the 'O2 Mini Asia Exteded Rom...' I found a .cab that installs the jvm/midlet manager.
The program itself runs just fine, and installs and downloads the .jar specified in any jad file I execute. The problem comes when I try to run a program from within the Midlet Manager. What I get is:
Error
Failed to run the MIDlet
This happens with google, Opera and another program I want to run. Is this the same error you are getting?
The O2 Mini is a Wizard - correct? Could there be something else in the ROM that needs to be installed?
Anyone have any ideas?
No, I'm getting an error trying to LOAD the GLM site from www.google.com/glm.
It appears to load, goes through all the motions, and then complains about an invalid JAR file.
I don't have any JARs handy I can load off a local SD card to see if it will work with those. I'll look around for some....
So you are getting an error already when trying to download the app from Google? I don't know how familiar you are with J2ME apps, but they typically consists of 2 components. A .jad file which is a simple text file that describes some properties of the app and a link to the actual app.
The point I am at I can successfully go to the Google/glm site and select the Generic Advanced app, agree to terms and then I click to download. Once I do that PocketIE asks if I want to save or run the .jad file. I then select to run it, and it kicks off the midlet manager. Then the midlet manager will download the .jar file and it is available in the manager with icon and everything. Once I click on the Google or Opera icon to launch the J2ME app I get the error I described.
If I understood correctly it seems you haven't gotten this far yet?
Correct. I cannot load the application - it is transferred but the JMM application refuses to install it.
I suspect a registry difference here - and if we find it, we may have a working solution.
Well, I would have thought that the .cab I got from the other extended rom would create all the appropriate registry keys to run the program. At least jmm works and downloads the jar.
I have no idea why it won't run them though. I also used LokiWiz to unlock the device, and after that I had to reinstall the jmm cab because the device complained that jmm.exe was not signed/authorized.
I see that some keys have been created in HKLM\Software\Tao\. I have attached them here.
It may be a file association for the .JAR type....
After looking around a little in the registry, I can see that there are a lot of keys created. I think it will be difficult for you to manually copy everything from the SDA. There are entries for the right extensions, but there is one more interesting one that I'd like to see what is in the SDA (or any Wizard with Java capabilities) \HKCR\CEJavaVM. On my device it is empty.

That key is not there at all on the SDA nor on my MDA.
There are several file associations ("Jarfile" and "Jadfile") all of which look ok......
Works on a Cingular 8125
Do it works on a Cingular 8125, however, how do you get to Midlets after you install them?
EDIT: I just need a .lnk file to the JMM.

.cab type file

A .cab file is a file that you must activate from your phone from a file explorer of some sort. To get them onto your device, you mist set up an active sync connection and just drop the .cab file somewhere you can find it. it will then ask you where you want to save it, and viola, it works.
I know this Thread is kinda old by now, but i just got a question on the cab files.
So i see how u make them work now, BUT what exactly are they? what are they made of? what is their exact function?
.CABs are basically .exe files (for Windows) or .app files (on a Mac). They're executable files which install an app onto your device. Think of them as 'advanced' ZIP files.
.CABs are not a kind of .exe (executable) files! Think of them as advanced .ZIP files. A .CAB can be generated using CabWiz.exe (Pocket PC) or CabWizSP.exe (Smartphone). The source of a .CAB file is a .INF (Textfile with a special format - looks very similar the the good old Windows .INI file format) file.
On a WM device the .CAB file extension is associated with wceload.exe which executes the instructions contained in the .CAB file.
Microsoft Visual Studio will create .CAB for "Smart Device Projects" automatically but often they are not very useful. As a good developer you should consider writing own .inf file for your project so you have the full control what will happening if the user opens your .CAB on the device.
CAB = Cabinet
EDiT: Soon I'll try to make a more readable document about *.cab as is now as described below,
Actually *.cab files gives us WM5/6 Standard Professional users the power to configure our devices the way we want! And fast especially when User Customization is build into ROM thus SDConfig.txt + SDautorun.exe cq runcc.exe cq DevPrep is used! Then we 'the users' and 'ROM flashing junkies' get super fast multi mega provxml and cab battle installs on the fly
Here some Graphic User Interface (GUI) builds around several cabxxx.exe utilities ;
QuickCab was one of my sticky cab application(s)! It made my day several times Nowadays I'm using Extendir Cabs (below).
-=[ Screenshot1 ]=- -=[ Screenshot2 ]=-
::
Did you know that CAB files transfered via ActiveSync may be altered during the transfer process? If you have a CAB file which has been authenticode signed with a certificate, ActiveSync may strip off the certificate during the transfer process if it determines the connected device does not support signed cab files. This is something to be aware of, if you notice your CAB files won’t install if you download them across the network, but will if manually transfered via ActiveSync.
::
Extendir Cabs (with nice GUI) is an utility to create cab files.
Basically it’s a shell around cabarc.exe. It converts rgu/reg/xml/provxml files, create _setup.xml, create all the different install paths to optimize for Extendir (optionally you can switch this off). So it’s very easy to convert your tweaks or packages to a setup cab.

HTC Home Plugin 3 tab w/ Clock working on WM5

Hello All,
I can confirm this plugin works on WM5 (currently only verified on HTC Apache). Both the 3 and 6 tab versions are working.
3 Tab Version:
ftp://ppcgeeks:[email protected]/Apache/Misc%20Apps/htchomewm5.rar
Simple Instructions:
1. Install HTC Home Plug Today Plugin.cab to device, not storage card.
2. Install SDK Test Certs.cab to device.
3. Copy contents of PPC Phone folder to \Windows and replace existing files.
4. Reboot
If you want to use US cities, copy HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml to \Windows directory!
Enjoy!
_____________6 Tab Version_________________
This now works with the reg entry to allow you to select the order and number of tabs. The cab should set the reg for you, but you can change it to your liking. The reg entry is...
Code:
HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCHome
Tabsetting=1,2,3,4,5,6
Unfortunately, the same install procedure is still necessary. Install cab and then copy the 4 files to \Windows. Make sure the Home plugin is deactivated when you do this or when you change the reg.
thanks to colonel and helmi @ ppcgeeks for 6 tab!
ftp://ppcgeeks:[email protected]/Apache/Users/Colonels/WM5HTCHome6Tab.rar
Inside the .rar is a cab and 4 files. Make sure you disable any HTCHome today plugin that may be running. Then install the cab. After the cab installs, it will ask you to reset. Cancel that and copy the 4 files to \Windows. Then reset.

Is anyone familiar with how to do this, or do it to a newer verion of the HTC Home plugin, either the 5 or 6 tab version?
Any help would be awesome in improving this!
5/6 tabs version from Kaiser?
How about 5/6 tabs version from Kaiser as available here:

The 3 tabs version available here:

Here is my GSmart i120 running WM5 AKU 3.3 and Wisbar Advance 3 beta 5!
TQ
The 3 tab version work well on my XDA IIs with xPlode Rom R5!
Works also 5 tab version?
Works great on Blue Angel!
Would love to have the 5 tab version working!
I know.. the 5 tab version working would be amazing! They are working on it over at PPCgeeks.. hoping maybe someone from here can assist in the process. The install for the 3 tab HTC home in this package is no different from other 3 tabs; what makes it work is the modified dll's in the folder in the zipped file.
As sp3dev said earlier in the other thread, they modified the htchome.dll and htchome.dll.0409.mui files. If someone can do this to match the change they made into the 5 or 6 tab version, it should work. Programmers? Anyone?
Hi, Does somebody knows why it didn't worked with my hw6945? I installed all as described but I only get an empty big square in my screen... the name of the plugin even appears on my today congifuration but I cannot make it work...
I cant figure out what files i am supposed to copy to the windows folder...Can anyone answer that question. I searched several websites but couldn't find an answer...Thank You.
Disregard the previous question. I finally found the files here...
Please help me with this, I really want to have it functioning with my Sable... please, anyone?
If you follow the instructions above and it will work. the three files that need to be copied to windows directory are htchome.dll, htchome.dll.0409.mui, and HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml. You can get these at
ftp://ppcgeeks.com/Apache/New Core OEMs/kdoweb/
The username is ppcgeeks and the password is ezupload. Its the top file. Extract the three files from that download. Follow the original instructions and overwrite those files, good idea to make backups before overwriting, and it will work. Hope this helps.
We have gotten the 6 tab version to work. However there are some strange issues with it. As you will see in the following files, the cab installs the .png files to \HTCHome instead of \Windows. This is necessary for this type of install. But, if you create an OEM for kitchen cooking, all the files can be run from \Windows. Also, we have tried to add the 4 files in the following package to the actual cab, but the cab will never install. During install, the progress completes or almost completes and then there is a message that the install was unsuccessful.
So, here is something that should work. Inside the .rar is a cab and 4 files. Make sure you disable any HTCHome today plugin that may be running. Then install the cab. After the cab installs, it will ask you to reset. Cancel that and copy the 4 files to \Windows. Then reset.
ftp://ppcgeeks:[email protected]/Apache/Users/Colonels/WM5HTCHome6Tab.rar
Hi Colonel
After I install this one (6 tab), there is not any HTC Home Today shown in my Atom.
What I have done is disable HTC 3 tabs and uninstall it.
Then, install the 6 tabs.
Copy 4 files to replace in \windows
soft reset
Perhaps try to copy all of the .png files that are in \HTCHome to \Windows so you have two copies. Like I said, this is still very raw and has some strange issues with it. Basically you might have to play around with the files. But, the 4 dlls/muis need to be in \Windows.

* New people don't know how to install them
* There is no standard to the packaging (.theme, .cab, .zip)
I have an idea that I think will simplify the making, distributing and installing of TF3D themes..
I will try to explain this as good as I can, hope you understand...
The theme maker starts of with a set of files that the use as a Template
It consists of all files needed in TF3D
*_manila
lua.dll
manila.exe
ManilaActivateToday.exe
ManilaDesktop.dll
ManilaToday.dll
mode9.dll
(There can also be added extra files like .png or .bmp files)
The theme maker changes the files needed to make their cool TF3D theme...
could be only the images, or...
they can change mode9, lua, dll or exe files to make functions work as they want..
Then they zip all the files and it is ready for install...
Now here comes the main thing about my idea...
A Install theme application opens the zip file and compares each file to the file in the ROM..
If they are different from eachother it will copy the 'theme' file to the ROM...
This way It will only copy the files needed to change TF3D... It wont take unnecessary space on the ROM!...
If the theme maker has tested the theme before releasing it,
the theme will always work with no problems (or at least I hope so )
And if this gets done and is treated as a standard in theme making/installing there are more functions to include in the app..
* Tab selector /Tab organizer
* Replace Font's
* ... (whatever you guys can imagine)
I'm not very good at programming, that's why I'm posting this...
So, if anyone feels like taking on this project we can get less questions, complaints and angry messages in the threads
And I am willing to help in anyway to make this happen...!
/Nisse
Sounds good to me, since that most problems seem to be due to difference in manila installs from rom to rom, diamond to raphael, even cdma to gsm. I'll help as I can, but unfortunately I'm not a programmer either
Update
Ok.. I started making this myself... See first post
It's almost done... but I still cant figure out the zip function...
Thanx davidwhitney for your code examples... but it's in C#
I'm not really good at this, so I'm having a bit trouble...
But now when I'm almost done, I started to think that maybe It shouldn't be zip'ed...
because It maybe would take to much time??
Anyway... I've Included the source code here for all to test...
I am trying to make the program Idiot proof (n00b proof) hehe
Copy your theme's to a folder of your choice...
Open the program and enter the path of your theme's
Choose a theme from the dropdown
Read theme (Now it starts comparing files)
When It's done, you can see how many files/Mb it will copy.. You can see screenshots(if the there are any)
Advanced users can make additional choices from a checkbox list
Install theme
You can include other 'non-manila' files like png files or other..
It will make a list of the files copied, this way you can choose to remove them on next install, or keep them on next install
--
Option to 'Make your own theme', It will copy all your manila+ files to a folder, for u to use later or distribute..
Option to Restore to ROM default manila files
Here is the source code for anyone to try...
Remember its an Early Alpha...
If u don't know much about VB programming or manila files... DON'T TRY IT...
I will not have time to answer a bunch of n00b questions..(soory I don't want to be rude but....)
Download
TF3DThemeLoader.zip (source code)
Example Theme's
I really would like some feedback on this...!
and sorry about the code... I know it's a mess...

Hi Nisse, could your idea extend to other windows files not just tf3d files? for example shell res dlls or even welcomeheads.

Yeah, whatever file u want...
But I don't know about dll files.... It's a bit tricky to copy/delete those...
Maybe not at first release... I have to first make the manila copying
This is going to take a little time... (a few weeks!!??)
But I really think this could be a good thing when it comes to the TF3D manila files
Hey man, nice work, would save a lot uninteresting questions. I know you are superior to me in all ways of the manila and know nothing of writing code. But anything to take the load of your hands. I'm just learning about the mode9 editing (kinda stuck) but in time can probably help there also. I do know a little about the taskbar makeovers, but that's for future time's. So any thing you want to out source let me know, 12
It might be useful if the software made a backup of any files it was overwriting. Often the files I am overwriting when installing a set of custom icons are not the original ones from the rom anyway. That way the backup could be used to simply restore to the previous state if it turns out looking crap, without getting stuck back with the original rom manila files.
paying it forward...
Hi,
Your idea wasn't too difficult to implement.
I've been using ROM updates from xda-dev for years silently so I've been prototyping this out as my way of saying thank you and giving something back.
I've built a proof of concept (that mostly works) for your app. A Data model, unit tests, a packaging format (zip file + xml descriptor to deal with validating files before copying), and some working code that packages and unpacks files on a device.
Requires the compact framework (I've targetted 3.5), and I've written a quick Windows packaging utility.
I don't have too much time on my hands, but anyone with any experience in C# should be able to pick it up.
Uses DotNetZipLib for archive access and MbUnit 2.x for unit testing.
I've got a stub project for the windows mobile implementation, but all the code that makes up the nuts and bolts is written.
Someone'll need to finish this up before it's fit for purpose but the legwork is all done, I just don't have more than an hour or so to work on it!
You'll have to excuse any dubious looking UI code in the windows app, it's really hacked together just to prototype out the idea.
I've pretty much just written this and packaged it up. Take it, use it, throw it away, delete it, open source it, I don't care
Hope this helps.

Thanx...
I had a look at it.. but I don't know much about C# ... I just manage Visual Basic
But I appreciate it... maybe someone else can use it...

Ok, so here's a version with a working Windows Mobile client and a slightly altered zip component (as in, one that works on the compact framework ).
So you've got some tests, a windows packaging utility and a windows mobile unpacker that I've tested in the virtual machine and seems to work fine.
"Complete", if rough. Compiled exe's are in the respective bin/debug folders.
Enjoy!

I've made a beta app.... see post #3

Sounds like an awesome great application.. well my question is that does this only "read and copy" over .theme files or does it do this with all files that want's to replace the manila file i.e cab files and so forth?..
well i have a Raphael ... you might have heard about xboxmods HD manila... it doesn't support landscape mode fully functionally yet.. well we managed to get landscape mode up but there are some bugs.. well my question is that will this application manage to make landscape mode stick on and detect that the phone is a Raphael and detect that there should be a landscape mod and manage to apply it when switching to landscape mode?..
gah.. i guess your answer would be, "why don't you test and tell us"... well unless you know anything i can't do it at the moment.. but will test it maybe tomorrow or at the day after tomorrow... well i just wanted to know if this application do this with all files that want's to replace the manila file i.e cab files and so forth?
Hei Norge!
Well... this app does whatever the Theme maker wants it to do...(almost)
It compare files from the theme folder(not .theme files yet) with the files on your phone... and only copy the files needed...
and you can add other files... like .png .dll (haven't tested that yet) and so on... but no .cab files....
I know about the Landscape problem with xboxmod's HD...
but this app won't solve the problem... maybe make it easier to install it?? when it's solved...
I haven't looked in to it, but (and correct me if I'm wrong) the problem with landscape with HD is the .exe and .dll files?? (manila.exe, mode9.dll ... ..)

So I am somewhat familiar with VB. This is a great concept and I will definitely look into the source code and see if I can make some improvements.
If I remember correctly a .theme file is just a zip with a renamed extension, correct? That shouldn't be too hard to accomplish. Are you planning on making an automatic backup before the overwrite? How are the screenshots suppose to be formatted, i.e. which extension, size and so on.
I tried out the program but I couldn't get the browse button to work. That is about as far as I made it.
Currently installing Visual Studio and Windows mobile sdk. I forgot how long VS takes to install.
Hi, I'm glad you've got somewhere with this.
I don't really have too much time to check up on the threads here, however if you're still struggling for zip support, in my example code take a look at the file ArchiveManager.cs (it's actually misnamed, it should be Archive.cs really as it represents a single compressed archive).
There's code in there you should be able to adapt to VB pretty easily (I think there's a method called ExtractPackage or something, it opens a zip archive using the DotNetZip 3rd party component, parses the file for an XML definition file and then extracts the contents).
It really is no more than:
using (ZipFile zip = ZipFile.Read(_filename))
{
zip.Extract("archivedFileName.ext", "destination" true);
}
I forget what the method call is offhand but you can enumerate through the contents of the zip file by doing a foreach through zip.Entries (or something similar).
You can almost convert that to VB by removing the curly braces
(I hate reading vb or I'd actually try compile it myself ).

Hei Sverige!
well yeah there are som probs with the HD manila to fully functional with a landscape mode.. well either the functions of HD manila must be ported to the stock tf3d or the bugs in landscape mode of HD manila be fixed.. i managed to make a video where i managed to stick the landscape mode on HD but there are some bugs like when i press on a function key on screen as calander or other stuff and the exit, then tf3d landscape will go into portrait but by closing and opening the slider on HTC Touch Pro then it will go back to a good looking landscape.. well i hope the HD manila added with landscape mode will get fixed.. the HD manila runs really really fast and very much faster when cfc compressed.. like 4 times faster than stock tf3d manila... i also think it lays in the exe files and mode9.. the mode9 in touch pro probably contains some strings to the landscape mode which probably should be ported to the mode9 of HD.. well i do not know what i'm talking about 100% since i'm not a pro developer and do not have any inside knowledge about manila or mode9... i'm a dreamer
A manila tab organizer could be very interesting
Hi NisseDILLIGAF,
Load a theme is nice but maybe a tab organizer could be great, activate or desactivate tabs and change the order. Similar to HD or TD2 application, very, very simple.
Thanks a lot,

[Tool] ADB Fileexplorer

Hi,
I have built a little tool, which enables the user to browse through the phones filessystem via ADB.
You can also connect an android via ADB over TCP if its enabled on the phone.
Prerequisites are is a JRE version 1.7.0_03 or higher and ADB in Path.
Short feature overview:
- pull files from the phone to the local filesystem
- push files to the phones filesystem
- connect a ADB-over-TCP enabled Android device
- browse trough the phones filesystem
- deleting files on the phone

2 Notes about the source:
- my GUI-Design skills are not very well. If somebody got some enhancements, feel free to send me a message or a pull request.
- my code is using the commad "adb -s <device> ls", I didn´t found any note or documentation about this. So there are maybe more hidden adb command. It would be great if someone got an idea how to find them.
Known Issues:
adb freezes while loading files
output shows a failure after successful file movement

I have placed adbfileexplorer in the same directory as the adb.exe
Link for Java Runtime Env. 7:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1637588.html
after java se 7 update 5 install, still getting the error :
Cannot run program "adb": CreateProcess error=2, propetie file not found.
You gotto set PATH variable in windows. Google it very easy.
Windows Onlyc
on ubuntu it opens up the jar as an archive hmm
If you are getting issues trying to run it on Windows 7, just make a batch file to run "java -jar c:\path\to\adbfileexplorer.jar"
Works on Linux

Starts up okay for me on archlinux. Looks like you need to be running Java 7, though.
From command line, I entered:
java -Xmx512m -jar /opt/android-sdk/platform-tools/adbfileexplorer.jar
and the adb explorer window opens up fine.

Possible bug
Hi there,
The ADB Fileexplorer is working fine with one exeption. When I have on my sdcard a folder named with more than one word (e.g.: New files) the ADB Fileexplorer show only the first word and cant open the folder. It opens only User/Documents ... After I renamed the Folder with "_" (e.g.: New_files) its fine. Is there a way to solve this? I really dont use "_"
Thanks

multiple language support is a nice idea. But can you please add the english translation as a comment to the strings?

The strings in my post was ment for another app ... really sorry about that ... but if I can I would love to make some for you as well.
EDIT
Another possible bug:
If I pull (only pull) one file it opens my documents (Win7 x64 machine) but not the Pull Destination which I selected before.

Translated also the logger text ... hope it´s ok to translate this as well.
If you could assemble the program with this translation I would like see the changed text if it´s ok. If ok I´ll do the czech translation ... and maybe an german one
Thanks so far
