Copy OS ROM Files - P3300, MDA Compact III upgrading etc.

Sorry for posting this, but I have searched the forum and cannot find the answer, though I guess it has been answered before.
I want to copy some of my OS ROM files, but it says I cannot copy them as they are locked. Could someone tell me how to copy these files, I guess I need an app that unlocks the ROM and then use Resco Explorer, but I can't find the unlocking software.
Many thanks

Is it possible to remove Fire.tsk and Bliss.tsk?

I pretend to delete the files Fire.tsk and Bliss.tsk or its corresponding links so as not to appear in -Settings->Today->Appearance, but as they are in ROM I think It wouldn`t be possible.
if you can backup the rom to the computer and open it with the tools on this site and remove the files from the rom you dont want there and make it back into a rom and flash your xda with it
they would be gon
Bliss.tsk and Fire.tsk are ROM parts
As Fire.tsk and Bliss.tsk are in the ROM, you can extract them making dumprom, but you can't do the reverse proccess, so I think that you can't make a ROM from its parts.
Regards.
There is one way to overwrite them.
The solution is to make an auntoinstall program to copy fire.tsk and bliss.tsk in RAM, but it will ask you confirmation to overwrite them.
Regards.

In the new Sprint test ROM which file is the radio?

I've searched a bunch, but I can't find the answer. I usually flash from an sd card and I wanted to know which file is the radio image. Is it Special_4350.nbh or is it within the RUU_signed.nbh? Please point me in the right direction. Thanks.
I'm not sure but someone has already posted download links on ppcgeeks to the rom, radio and extended rom.

Yes, I saw Vetvito's post there. I installed the new ROM by downloading the windows installer pkg, unzipped it and put the two .nbh files on my SD card. It seems it updated with no problem. What I am wondering is if I omitted any important files other than the new .prl. Are the dll files necessary when flashing by SD or are they included in the .nbh files?

Where do i find the RUU file that I have copy to sd card?

I am wishing to attempt a hspl on my T-Mob uk hd2, the procedeure requires me to copy the existing RUU file to my storage card in the eventuality that I need to restore it to it's original settings. Please explain where the hell I find this file?
What? I think your confused, check out my thread in my sig, use it to help you but at the start there are links to other useful threads on using it. Also I have a small glossary to help you.
the .exe file you downloaded is actually a zip file. so rename it .zip instead of .exe and now when you run it it will open to show you a list of files, one of which is ruu signed.nbh
oh and it isn't part of the flash.only if the flash goes wrong.
Thanks guys, I understand how to flash a rom but am unsure about backflashing my stock T-Mobile (UK) Rom is there one available?
There is deffinately a T Mo uk rom, ive seen it mentioned several times. Look hard in the Official Roms thread and you will find it.

[Q] deodex problem

5. IMPORTANT: After you have run option 3, you MUST navigate to the xUltimate folder and find "origi_frame" folder, and delete "guava.odex". It's a bad file, and interferes with deodexing process.
Can someone tell me where I find this file, lol I just cant find it.
8. Go back into the xUltimate folder and copy "done_frame", and "done_app", and move them to the root of the sdcard.
I cant find these files either, I also did step 4 without deleting the guava.odex file, once I find out where the files are should I just start over or what. I know this is probably a stupid question but Im lost and I have searched for the answer everywhere before asking.

1. It's located in the same folder you ran the "Main" application from, once you finished option 3, locate "origi_frame" folder and navigate to "guava.odex" file to delete it, its right between framework-tests file and ime file.
2. The "done_app" & "done_frame" is located in the same location as the "Main" application.

They are not in the .zip... they are generated after some of the steps are done in the cmd and placed where ever the file was placed when you unzipped it and started with step 1. PM me and I will help you on gtalk

In the directory/folder that you unzipped xUltimate to and where the "Main.exe" executable is that you are running (most likely called xUltimate-v2.2.2), it should have created the following sub-directories:
(after successfully pulled the original system files by selecting option 1 & 2 of "main.exe")
origi_app
origi_frame
(after deodex was successfully run in option 3 & 4 of "main.exe")
done_app
done_frame

nv_data.bin

Hi I'm trying to unlock my SGS GT-i9001 by looking for the unlock code in the nv_data.bin file.
I have read in several tutorials that the location of this file is either /efs or /dev/block folders, but the file is not there.
Can anyone help me finding this file in order to unlock (simfree) my cell.
firmware 2.3.6
GINGERCREAD.XXKQ1
Thanks

I know this may not be the most helpful post but I had the same problem, years ago when I first got my i9000, I had no nv.data.bin file. there is away around it but I can't remember what I did, try googling for creating an nv_data.bin file. just keep persevering.
I seem to remember using superoneclick at somepoint, maybe you need root first
also see this thread, it may help
