HELP...NEW TO WIZARDS...HELP...BEST ROM?

Hi there
i recently purchased my 02 XDA mini S
its ROM version is 1.5.4.2 WWE
its radio version is 01.09.10
Ive been reading a lot on this site and it seems obvious that when you first buy them there not as good as they can be!!
There are lots of people talking about lots of different ROMs and im slightly confused!!!
What would be the best one for me to instal (if i need to at all), why would it be better than what i've already got? and how i can go about doing it?
Im quite knowledgable about technicle stuff so im not a complete rookie but any help would be GREATLY appreciated

the last one from i-mate seems to be ok... or you can try the one from qtec 1.6.7.1 rom
why it would be beter? its like updating your pc... bugs are fixed... new things added and so on...
you need to CID unlock your device before putting other rom in to it... you can do that with this progy http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33796

Info About BA

Hey guyz..i ve just got my new BA in my hand..now before i switch it to WM6...can some one direct me in the right way as i see 3 roms in the thread..as i wasent lurking around the BA forum when WM6 was released for it..so i dnt know the bugs or problems for it.please some provide me sum info...

as far as i know my latest rom is the best one, but you may want to read the thread for more information about problems and issues

P.s. Is this the right thread i am posting i dont know....is this is a wrong thread and if i am not supposed to post here then i am sorry for my noobness.....
well, dought a diamond few days back....its a used piece that has no warrenty.....so i have been thinking of modding it with new rom and s/w.....well basically i am a noob in upgrading roms...but i have seen my friend do it a couple of times,felt its a no sweat process....and i wanna try my hand at it....
well basically i need a good rom....(i know i should have searched the forum for roms....but i need your valuable Wisdom in choosing the right rom cause if i choose a wrong one i might mess things up.....and no i am not Lazy)
well...i want a good rom....plz suggest me a few...i will now mention what i need in my phone....so plz..be patient

Windows Mobile OS Rom(preferably The Latest 6.1 cause its the stable one around....i dont know about 6.5 is it any good..?)
can i have the cube application in the Diamond......it would look cool to use it...
Mobile Office,Pdf Reader,yahoo messenger,a nice all in one media player..(like vlc on pc platform....it plays everything i throw at it...i just love it..)
i would also like to have the Htc Touch Viva Blue Theme.....i dont Know what its called but i saw it on my friend phone and it was pleasent...

You really should read a lot about flashing before doing it.

After that proceed here
If you read everything carefully and want to flash a new ROM be shure to
do it step by step as it's suggested.
And I guess you have read it quite often, but you have to find your own ROM.
Try some and then decide which to use. It's most satisfying^^
And yes, 6.1 is more stable than 6.5 for now so you should take a 6.1 ROM.
But have a look at these two ROMs. I have tryed them both besides many other and I used the A.Z.T.O.R. series for a long time -> very stable and really fast! Will use it again when X3 will be released I don't know if they fit all of your personal needs, but especially for some special theme or so on you should search the Thread you posted this request

I would recommend two options. You can use Cloudy 1.1 with and without Manila. I have tried both. The WITH Manila has the TF3D with it which is very nice. However, my preference is WITHOUT Manila and then add SPB Mobile Shell 3.0. This is more user friendly.
Both options are very fast and with lots of free ram (more than 50Mb)...
I am not sure if these work with CDMA - please check first.
By the way, I think there is so much great help on these sites (and PPC Geeks) that you will always find a way to get your phone looking and feeling the way you like.

Sorry i forgot to mention..the Diamond i right now have was flashed earlier...so right now its having a custom rom by diamond project team....well i am looking for a move basic rom.....which is almost or most likely official rom...

if you want a official rom you can visit HTC.com and download the latest official rom that have been released. whether or not you can use the custom spl without doing any harm i have no idea about since i do not know anything about roms and flashing i just know that HTC has official roms on their site

I think u can download ROMs from HTC if u own an original-HTC device, right?
I wasn't able to download their ROMs because I bought my Diamond from a German reseller
-> Same phone, nearly the same look but an unsupported IMEI (?)
And again I can propose an A.Z.T.O.R. ROM^^
Alpha Zero Tweaked Official Roms = A.Z.T.O.R.
And as your phone was flashed before you should have no probs flashing a new ROM^^ So try some and then choose

Actually The Diamond i Right now have was bought off the gray market..it was actually a orange network locked phone...so the phone is right now unlocked,gray market product....

Dutch roms

is there an easy way to search this forum for dutch roms, when i do a search i come up with about a million results
Maybe sum1 wants to point out to me some of the newer roms wich are in dutch, this would be much apriciated.

To be safe you can flash an HTC windows mobile 6.1 rom at http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=59&cat=2&dl_id=113 .
If you want 6.5, I don't think there are any dutch roms available just now. For any non-htc rom, you need and want to install HardSPL. Correct me if I'm wrong, but for 6.5, I think you need to stick to english.

this is the original one i allready have this one, i want a cooked one, with tons of new things in it. I have been reading about touchflow3d and stuff.
i downloaded this one M-Amine 2.0 FINAL but didnt turn off my virusscanner and it came up with a trojan, i believe this is a false melding
now i have to wait another 14 minutes to try and download it again.
Is it safe for me to use this one, or are there, better/safer ones to use ?

Yes M-Amine 2.0 FINAL is a good rom and clean free of virus's alot of anti virus see them as a threat for some reason.Dont forget to hard spl before you install your rom if you havent already.

hmm somehow i can't connect my touch cruise useing USB, i always sync my phone with bluetooth, now i see i need to connect my phone with usb and run active sync, but my pc doesnt see my phone true usb.....
going to search the forums, if you guys know anything plz inform me about it

fixed the connection problem, so now i just run the ROMUpdateUtility, wich is inside the zip file and after that the one that came with M-Amine 2.0 FINAL ?

It was a bit if figuring out what to do excactly but i managed to update to M-Amine 2.0 FINAL. It looks great, going to see how it all works, play with it a bit and see how it feels, and going to find out how to donate after dinner...
If i would want to try out other roms, can i do this right away or do i have to run the HardSPL again? for it is still uncertain to me what this does excactly but i will try and learn more about that for sure.
And if it is not to much to ask, can someone point me in the right direction to find some other dutch roms, to compare it with ? thx in advance

If you decide to give another rom a try, you don't need to reflash hardspl. You can just flash the new rom (but sometimes a rom includes a radio sometimes is doesnt). I've had M-Amine 2.0 Final quiet a while (dutch too), but recently I gave the latest PDAviet a try (win.mob.6.5) and I really like the look and interface! (but it's english!) See and judge for yourself!
For the dutch roms, i think m-amine is the best, you have a couple of others, but you can search the polaris thread only for that.

I think its hard to find a dutch rom besides the Anime one.
But on the other had, once you are using a WWE (World Wide English), you will get used to the language very soon.
I personnaly like the Khanx Rom very much, although there is a little bug in it since version 3 (carkit bug). Version 1.5 was perfect for me. So back to my 2nd favorite, the c_shekar rom.
I am very much interested in your experiences with other roms and preferences.

welcome in the great world of xda. There are not so much dutch roms for polaris indeed but just try the wwe-ones. It's true that you get used to it very fast. I'm using a rom with m2d instead of m3d 'cause rom with m2d is usually faster (smoother). I'm using '3LIT3 VI full' and I'm verry pleased with it. I'm also a bit into skin editing and stuff, you can see that here.

G'day, I've ordered a new Imate Jasjam hasnt arrived yet but i'm preparing myself for the rom update.. so i'm supposed to do:
1: hard-spl v7 which is ver 2:10 to phone first
2: official ata win 6 striped rom update
3 then the rom of my choice which Ive chosen MrDSL Manilla2d 21728 3g 2d
i plan not to touch the radio upgrades at all as i may not have a problem with them.. not sure yet though.. id rather leave them be..
thing is i'm not cluey about hard and soft resets between each step or even if my choices are compatible or stable with the phone as Ive only been reading about all this stuff for a few hours and i do plan n doing more reading.. am at least on the right track here? thanks a lot and muchly appreciated.
