Hi, i would like to know, how to delete factory junk like the Software Store, those annoying confirmation sounds...etc.. they all are part of the ROM and i want to know how to be able to delete them.
Hard reset and the soft reset before the customizations run.

the problem i have only showed today, when i wanted to sync my device with my laptop, i had an error message saying AS encountered a problem and cannot sync the device.
also when i want to install any app it ssays (unsuccessful installation) no matter what the app was.
the last thing, when i went to the remove software list, surprise, nothing was there, absolutely empty list (i still have all my apps installed and running).
what could be the cause for this? please help me here guys.
Certainly a program that screwed up the system. I would hard reset and reinstall trusted apps only...
thats exactly what i did. i had to hard reset the device despite all the information i couldn't save, just to get it back to work properly.
is there any app that allows me to back up & restore sms msgs? i lost more than 300 important msgs in this hard reset, & was really pissed off that i had to do it.
I use Jeyo Mobile Extender to synchronise them with Outlook.
sorry for reviving a dead topic, but i am constantly getting the error where it tells me uninstal unsuccessful, do you want to remove the application from the remove programs list? and when installing i get install unsuccessful, try again? click yes and same thing.
Do i really need to hard reset?

I have the same problem even after a hard reset.
I'm unable to instal any application without the message: ....CAB Install unsuccessful, try another location.
Any ideas?
Been trying out a number of applications, Themes etc all day and have had to do many soft resets as well as 1 hard reset however after every soft reset Activesync is uninstalling & then reinstalling itself ...... not a big issue other than the additional time it takes but occasionally it wont sync all the files & database (Act with Act Link)info i use whch then requires me to manually reinstall Activesync.
Can anyone advise

I have no clue what you mean, either. AcitveSync is part of the ROM/OS so it can´t uninstall/install itself......
Apologies for not making it clearer
It is the Act Link which is (a sync software) which syncs an Act database through activesync which is uninstalling & reinstalling after a soft reset

I'm using the Nexus 1 Sense Build and I set up a new google account, forgetting I had an older one already. When I tried changing the synced account, it said that the apps needed the set account and I'd need to do a factory reset.
This got me thinking, what would happen if I ran a factory reset while running Android? Would it just affect the android data on the storage card or would it try to edit the winmo files on the device itself?
I tested this and it actually didnt do anything - just froze the handset requiring a reset/battery pull.
Even after a hard reset, the user dictionary stays. How do I stop this. I wanted to start fresh. Also, even after a clearing cache/data my apps redownload automatically and the user dictionary stays in tact. I do not want this to happen. I have also sbf'd multiple times. How can I fix this?

1.Everytime when i make call i get speaker on, without my permission, is there any fix for that? Or only factory reset
2.If i do factory reset, what you would suggest to me for backup(best) , I need mostly contacts to get saved.
3.I have duplicate contacts, how to remove them(not manually one by one)
