Guys,
Need some help here. A couple of days ago I spilled some water on the navigation buttons on the lower part of my Hermes that was working ok just fine for the last 8 months. Cleaned it up with a towel and everything looked ok for another 3-4 hours when the touch screen graduatelly stopped responding, now is dead. I took everything apart and cleaned all the connectors however I still have the same problem, no improvement of any kind.
I've seen in the forum that some other people had this issue, what I am curios is to hear if anyone was able to fix it. Thinking of replacing the digitizer/lcd..will this fix the problem or there is some other screen driver chip that may be damaged?
Thanks

Hey Guys, Can anyone help ?
I plugged my phone in to charge overnight like normal and when i unplugged it next morning the screen will not respond to taps. There are no cracks or damage to the screen and it hasnt had a bump.
A hard reset gets me as far as the calibration screen but again, cant do it.
Does anyone either have any ideas or can anyone recommend a good repair place in the uk ??
thanks.
Andy

Hi Andy,
If you are familiar with rom flashing you could try it before sending to repair in case it's software related.
Good luck
Arrrrrrggghhh-bloody backlight/touch bricked!
I have the same issue and it's driving me nuts!!
pressing the screen bottom left quite hard puts the backlight back on but it goes off as soon as I take my finger off.
Having done a web search, it appears that this may be a firmware issue, but if so, why, after 9 months of trouble free use, has it only just happened?
I'd be very interested if anyone else has solved this issue. Is there patch or is it a hardware issue?
My otherwise excellent touch is effectively bricked-any help or suggestions at all would be appreciated!
A fix (sort of)
I bit the bullet and ordered a replacement LCD module online and fitted it. It worked, proving that there was indeed an issue with the original. Problem is, the quality of the new one is really bad so DON'T buy a replacement online is my advice. I've now sent my beloved Touch back to HTC to get it fixed...
Hopefully I'll have it back and working soon.
FIXED !
i know this is gonna sound weird but i bought a BENQ_E72 while my touch wasnt working and i kinda forgot about the touch in the meantime. Yesterday i came back to the touch and lo and behold its working perfectly. Screen align is working, taps are going through and i cant see a problem.
Now i have read a thread about the Digitizer filling up with dust and yes my front case does have 2 hairline cracks in it so i am thinking a strip apart, new case and clean and go from there if it does it again. Odd how leaving it to discharge compleely for a couple of months has 'cured' the problem
Just thought i would share this with you

Hi, i got a stange problem with my HD2 a while ago..
Its summer now here, and a while ago, i was talking to someone using my HD2, we are talking about 20mins then my ears and hair got sweaty. After the call, my phone is slightly wet by my sweat but not too much, but then my touch screen isnt working..
I tried to reset and remove the battery but the touchscreen goes wild and unresponsive, touching everything and moving everything through out the screen..
after an hour, the touchscreen is working properly again, (i hope, as i was typing this, its already 1 hr and its still ok.. hope it continous..)
Is it because of my sweat that accidentally goes inside the device/lcd/touchscreen and started acting wierd? or is it my touchscreen already busted?
Do touchscreen get temporarily broken if it gets wet? then returned to normal as soon as it dried out?
thanks!
It might have just been the heat and not nessecarily the sweat.
The HD2 does not like the heat very much. So Ive heard....
No hope of mine overheating in Scotland thats for sure
Either way, I'd be prepared for it to happen again at some point.

Next time I recommend you use the search function... This has been discussed several times.
But yeah, you are not alone... This is a common problem or defect on the LG G2 (all variants). A few days ago I got the same problem where just a part of the top of the screen does not respond to touch.
As far as I could tell, the only solution is to replace the whole screen assembly or just the touch screen, but the replacing just the touch screen requires so much delicate and specialized work since the screen and the touchscreen are glued together so I recommend investing on a new screen-touchscreen replacement that will set you back about $80 USD but easier to replace by yourself.
I've been trying to figure what could have caused this on my G2 since I've never dropped it, but there are two possible scenarios for me:
1. A few days ago I was on a call on a very VERY hot and humid day, I was sweating like a pig and when I was on the phone, I noticed the receiver stopped working due to sweat coming into the speaker. I was stupid enough to blow into it trying to clear it, of course it didn't work but once it dried, the speaker worked again.
2. On a few occasions, I have forgotten to remove my phone from by back or front pocket when climbing into my car. I could imagine the phone would flex just a tiny bit and figure that might not be good, even though it was really not that much pressure nor time.
Those are the only two possible scenarios in my case. Other than that I don't see how it could have failed.
Cheers!

Hello,
Since a few days, the touch input of my front (LCD) screen stopped working. Nothing looks damaged, the screen still displays what it is supposed to, but there is no reaction to my inputs (actions on volume and power buttons do work, as well as on the e-ink screen). Did this happen to any of you? Any suggestion on possible ways to fix it?
I should also mention that it still works by moments, like half a day working, then 2 days not responding, etc. I tried shaking it in different ways should a connector be slightly displaced, with no success: the few times it started working again came like a (good) surprise. I also had the great idea to do a factory reset, so now the phone is stuck on the Android configuration wizard, which must be done on the front screen (no possibility to use YotaMirror, apparently).
Thanks!

i recommend reflash it. possibly and more strongly recommend to flash the same version and region which was installed for example HongKong 4.4.3 baseband number .HK1.0.36a

Actually, I forgot that the front screen was replaced several months ago (by a repairer that mistakenly changed the front screen instead of the e-ink one which was having an issue).
The factory reset didn't improve the situation, the front screen becoming "touch-insensitive" every few days. After checking how the screen connectors are supposed to be plugged (opposed to the screen), I noticed that gently tapping the phone front screen down helped to solve the issue each time it happened. A few days ago, I finally opened the phone (quite easy, there are two useful videos online) and unplugged/replugged the screen connector. It has been working fine since then.
If it happens to anybody (who would have its front screen replaced), I hope it can help!
Hello Everyone. What I'm about to write might be a bit tricky and complex, so thank you if you'll follow along.
Unfortunately, I dropped the phone into water couple of weeks ago (I know, how dumb...). I let it dry 3 days in rice and Silica gel. After that, I tried to boot it up and it worked, but after couple of hours the touch screen was not responding anymore. I rebooted it and worked again, but lately failed another time.
I tried to let the phone standing up for 3 days, and it worked again perfectly. But as soon as it lies flat horizontally, the touch screen stops working.
After several attempts, I figured out that there might still be water in it, which reaches the motherboard/top of the phone when it is horizontal and messes up with the screen.
However, just out of curiosity, I tried to change ROM and noticed the following:
1.MIUI Global Official: Phone works perfectly, even after lying horizontally. However, everytime something full screen is running, touch screen stops working.
2.DotOS/Lineage/AICP(unterwelt) (All based on Nougat): Phone works, but touchscreen fails after it lies flat.
3.Factory Kernel/ Voodoo: no differences.
So, do you think the problem is in the Hardware, or Software?
Do you accidentally know any good seller of LCD/Touch-screen replacements?
I'm looking forward to buy a Redmi note 4 (if I find any, since there are very few on the market and there are no redmi 4 prime anymore), so I thought this topic might be an take-off for some interesting discussions/opinions.
If you arrived here, thank you very much for your time and hope you can help me one way or another.
Best,
G.
PS: I tried all possible paths while changing ROM/Kernel (Clean and dirty flash, no/formatting data, reinstall TWRP)
In case might be useful to someone:
I opened the phone, use a hair dryer (cold air, not hot) for couple of minutes and now it's working perfectly.
