1.) install the thinkoutside driver for bluetooth mouse
2.) when you were ask to reboot, push "cancel" and..
3.) copy the attached file in your /windows directory
4.) reboot
5.) disable "power efficient mode" and set mouse pointer to "safe"

Same here. Hacking the Magician to act as a Bluetooth HID optical mouse by using the camera as a motion detection sensor, now THAT would be a hack...

@psych0t1c: This would be near to impossible, because the cheap CCD in the Magician needs much light to recognize anything. Now if you put onto your desk it could not constitute any difference on different places.

That's another reason I'd consider it a really impressive hack.

Seriously though - I have this cheap mouse that works on a Wm2003Se Pocketpc like a charm but not on my WM5 JJ . Which version of the STowaway Mouse is his 4.2 ? 4.3? - Did someone get it to work on WM5?
I got to play with a Stowaway Mouse for a week  - You should have seen the students faces when I pull out my "mini Laptop" in the coffee shop and they still sit with Old NoteBook technology
Now without the mouse it is not as impressive
Cant we hack the latest WM5 compatible driver as the previous one's - Who knows how to reverse engineer DLL's??

Well, I've tried to use it with a Qtek9000 and WM5.0, without success.
Stowaway mouse driver version 4.4, but finishes always with the two messages bellow, poping-up:
- Error
Keyoard driver not functioning!
- Keyboard Driver Error!
The Keyboa driver ("StowawayXT.dll")is not responding.
Please reinstall.
I might be some problem with the .dll.
Any directions or ideas?
I have the same problem as Conchas. not working :-(
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=32068
Works for me. I have not Magician, but it was teststed with all versions of BlueAngel's WM5 ['orignal', Himalaya port and Wizard port].

I'm willing to run it through all the tests, I've spent about 20 hours working on this so far and if anyone can give me the file I'll keep working until I either get it to work or...
Thanks very much,
Peter

hi guys,
i want to setup a network between my computer and my pocket pc I-mate Jam
i have bluesoliel bluetooth driver & a bluetooth device in my computer
but i don't know how to share my computer files using resco explorer
and i want to know how can i use this network in streming video to my pc
can anyone help please :?: :?: :?:
this is a very good idea. if posssible then one can share files to and from the phone. i havent really tried this ever but i am pretty sure that you have to install some com ports.
the way magicians rom is made does not really allow this, thats what i could figure out, but there must be a tweak or rom hack that allows direct file transfer . is you look closely this action is allowed to a certain leve when using infra red but no to the full.
lets see if we get a reply from one of our wiz ppl about this.
The other day my touchscreen response time started to flicker and then gave out within a matter of a few hours...
I am making due with the help of smarts key and sphelper (adds a mouse you can move with the arrow keys.) The only functions that I lost were the ability to play my games and to change anything with battery status (beta 3).
I tried to connect a M$ Bluetooth mouse but it wanted a passkey which M$ does not provide. I tried installing the drivers from Think Outside's Stowaway® Travel Mouse but the software would not even find my M$ mouse. Has any one found a workaround to get the M$ mouse to work on a wizard?
I think all I need to do it replace the touch screen. Has anyone had any experience with this? I downloaded the service manual off the wiki but don’t want to trash my phone without a backup one ready to go.
Thanks for reading and any help is much appreciated.
a bluetooth mouse maybe?
has anyone at least gottena bluetooth mouse working sucessfully? and if so what brand was it?
Not the solution you are asking for, but something that will drastically help:
Check ebay.com items
190106747985
150117976820
330115693756
Thanks for the links...if I get ballesy enough I will try and do it myself...hopeful I will get a new phone soon (if i can wait til June the Kaiser) and I can try and fix this one...or at least sell it on eBay
This one will give you access at least until you find another solution: you get your PDA on your desktop screen and can use it with desktop keyboard and mouse. I am using it myself and started to use my MDA more on the desktop than directly.
You can hook it up via USB or WLAN ...

Thank you so much that was exactly what I needed to get battery status set up the way I liked it as well as all of the registry keys set. Thanks again
Well,
I am glad I could help!
In case it is only the digitizer and not your LCD screen: SPB MOBILE SHELL lets you almost do anything on your PPC with only softkeys and navigation pad. The HW keyboard works on your device anyway I asume? If you want to take a closer look: http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/mobileshell/screenshots.html?en
Does this device have usb-host to use some flash memory, mouse etc?
also wondering if there is a possibility to connect usb dvd drive to my touch2?
A good Idea
Hello there !
I was wondering if anybody can find a solution to writing problem with Touch2
you know the screen is very small
You can't just use your fingers to type !
Not sure but propably not. At least you need extra drivers.....here is a thread on the subject.....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=480899
Did not read myself......
