Backup MMS and SMS - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I've searched around and haven't found any information. Is there a way to save your SMS and MMS files from the phone? Any tools? I am interested in upgrading to WM6, but do not want to lose my SMS and MMS messages.
An aside, if there is a way to get the messages off with full information such as who sent and when would be great.
Thank you in advance for the help,
Brent

If You want to backup your messages and contacts from your phone use Jeyo Mobile Companion 2.0 and backup to the PC or Jeyo SMS backup to backup directly from your phone

How do I backup (and restore) MMS?

Hi everybody.
I've 2 TyTNs.
The first has xda-live 0.2
The second has the standard italian rom.
After flashing the first I've lost all my messages (I was trying to restore a backup made with SPB Backup) but it didn't work at all.
Before flashing the second I'd like to backup (on WM5) and restore (on WM6) all data.
For Contacts I use NS Contact Backup (I prefer it to outlook)
For SMS I use SMS Backup but it works for SMS only.
For Outlook Emails I use Activesync.
What can I use to backup MMS on WM5 and restore them on WM6?
(I already tried SMS organizer but it hangs. )
Thanks anyone.
Very good question. I want to know also how to backup my MMS.
SMS is no problem.

Copy sms to another phone

I was wondering if i can copy all my sms from my O2 mini to another PDA phone ?
thanks
Yep!!
Use DotFred's PPCPIMbackup (Get it HERE); just backup the SMS messages on your old device, copy the backup file via ActiveSync (or memory card) to the new device, then install PPCPIMbackup and restore the SMS messages from the backup.....
Easy huh?
Mark.
NICE !
thanks
Hello fakesurfer,
there this program called EasyHelper Contact + SMS Backup it can backup
your contacts & SMS and restore them back on PPC.

Dumb question about backup of SMS/MMS

A (probably) dumb question:
in the SPB BACKUP when I backup "emails" am I saving all SMS and MMS as well?
yep that's correct
spb backup
Spb Backup backups email, sms, mms and contacts.
Do everyone know how to read my sms (after backup) on desktop PC?
I downloaded SpbBackupUnpackDesktopPC so I can see it, but I havent program for opening messages (in *.mpb)...
thx

Can I back up phone SMS's to my PC?

Whn I use Activsync I can back up Outlook calendar, contacts etc.
But, can I back up my text msgs in my inbox on the phone?
If so, how do I do that?

nicojo

its not free but i thinks its worth the fee , PIM Backup also backup SMS via ppc itself.
awesome and free software would be PIM,
you can store the file(s) on your device and copy it to your pc afterwards!
Thx open_source
Do u have a link to a specific app?
I tried AllExport v3.1 which says:
"With this program, you can backup, restore and export all your messages (SMS, MMS, E-mail, etc.) which are stored in Messaging application."
I installed it but couldn't see how to back up SMS, only contacts list
Anyone tried this program?
