Does anyone have an application or a link to an application that can be used to control my PC using wifi?
I have a wireless network at home and both my PC and ppc (HTC Touch) connect to the network through a wireless router.
Thanx!
you can use the build in program called therminal services in your pocketpc
or you can use some free VNC software there are plenty of options
Also there is LogMeIn.
Google can give you many more answerers.
Control PC with PPC
I use salling clicker http://www.salling.com/. i use it with wmp mce and itunes, i have played with it as a mouse pointer and there is lots of other scripts out there too. i bought it and its great. it works on wifi and bluetooth
Teriminal service. wireless router with port forwarded to your PC (read about port forwarding and DMZ settings on router) and allow to log in with blank passwords on xp adminsitrative tool
Thanks for the responses so far!
I don't have any terminal applications on my phone at the moment. Will see if I can get hold of VNC and will also have a look at Salling.
Any other sw out there that has remote functionality?
use realVNC 4.3 from realvnc.com.
WM6 remote destop is the best in my opinion. It doesn't support file transfer but its bloody good for controlling your PC. I haven't found anything better.

Hi how can i play musik on my ppc (the musik is on the hd of my laptop) the ppc is connected with the cd player (laptop is in the same wlan network as the ppc) is there a solution with a software to remote the ppc (play stop pause volume) at the time i have made a link (.ink) with totalcmd and gsplayer my problem is there i must go every time to the ppc to jump song or do other things.
sorry for my english^^
share them and play them with tcpmp i see movie in this way
Once the PPC is on the same network as the PC, data is exchanged using the traditional SMB protocol. Yes this means that the PPC can also access data from your Linux SAMBA server as well.
So in the PPC you access PC data by going to the Path \\PC_NAME\PC_SHARED_FOLDER in File Explorer or alike - which the Media Player in the PPC will happily load provided the appropriate codec is installed in the PPC.
hm yes thats not my problem i would like give commands on pc (next song, pause....) now I must always go to my ppc to give commands.
If your PPC is supposed to be the audio output of the music, then yeah it is also the input source of commands.
If you want your PC to be the input source in controlling the media content, and the PPC the output of the audio/video .... well this is something I have never heard of and don't think its practical in the first place. The easiest solution if you really want to engage in this scenario is to setup a VNC server on the PPC and use the VNC Client on your PC to "control" the PPC.
Hi,
Has anyone done a file sharing between a PC and a TMO Wing without any software?
Thanks

Get a memory card reader and a microSD.
You can also use a bluetooth dongle for the pc and then beam files directly to your Wing without connecting with activesync.
Can we do that by wirless router? Say both the devices are connecting to the same wirless router.
A bluetooth dongle requires you to install the bluetooth software on the PC. If this is a locked down corporate computer, this is a no-go.
The WiFi sounds intriging... there are ways to browse network shares... but then again, this requires you to have wireless access to the network.
Wireless networking...

Hi there,
I’ve have successfully used file sharing over a wireless network between my pocket pc and my computer, it was even stable enough to stream and watch full sized divx movies (not resized for pocket pc) on my pocket pc. The only catch is that I’m using Resco Explorer to map a network drive on my pocket pc. I haven’t tried using the default Windows Mobile Explorer yet.

Yes i'm doing the same thing, for some reason i can get fullsized videos to stream though, can with music not video though, what player do u use ?
Overall its pretty easy to browse the network and share files, just use resco explorer and map the right folder
I use card export in my old BlueAngel... install it and the PPC connects to windows as a mass storage device... this and a spare usb cable in my bag... no need for anything else.

If the computer already has bluetooth you can create a pairing profile. From then you can right click on the file you would like to send and select send to bluetooth then to your profile. This is best if used with smaller files such as cabs. Hope this helps. Works for me.

Good idea. I didn't think about that. You can download WM5torage to do the same thing. It'll turn your PocketPC into a portable drive.
If you have wireless you can user simple file sharing on the computer and see the share on pocket via Resco Expl. or Windows Commander. : \\pc_name\disk_share. If you want to made file transfer like cabs or music, movies it's very simple and you don't need card reader blablabla...
Right know I want to made the revers way to share the PPC to PC.
Any ideea?
Anyone have one or done this yet?

Dude, I tried doing Remote Desktop Connection the other day, using WLAN. my HD got connected to my PC (Pc is on Win XP SP3) but, the moment my HD got connected my profile on PC got logged off. I tried several times, but every time it was the same.
Can you please suggest me a way (may be without using 3rd party apps) to prevent this? I want to view both - my profile on desktop and my (remote) desktop on HD at the same time.
Thaks Ahead.
The PC locks due to security, that's how the default windows remote desktop works. Only work around I can think of is to search for 3rd party application that allows you to run both machines simultaneously and you can search for regisitry tricks.

Does anyone know if there is an application for the PS3 remote play option as well as the Sonly Location Free player?
The PS3 Remote Play application allows you to view your content on the Playstation 3 anywhere in the world that has WIFI with an internet connection.
The Sony Location Free Player is a stand alone device that allows you to see you cable/satellite content anywhere in the world that has WIFI with an Internet connection. You basically connect the output from your cable/satellite provider to this device and use a program on your laptop or desktop to view the programming. Sony PSP's have a program built into their system which allows this to work. The original packaging for the location free player came with a disk that had 1 licensed copy for a desktop or laptop computer.
Was wondering if any of these applications might be available for the Xperia X2.
I think this belongs here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=648
