Right I have used j's kitchen to cook my own version 4 rom etc(thanks for the service) but I can not get gprs or any mobile internet connection to work at all. Am I the only one who has problem in the uk??
my device info
XDA 02 UK 32MB (isp singlepoint)
bootloader 5.15
rom any 4.X rom
radio 4.21(from 02 website
have you set up all of your gprs/modem connections settings since you updated? this is commonly missed
yeah i just set the on up as follows
access point: Mobile.02.CO.UK
User: wap, mobile, black field etc
password: password, wap etc etc
then clicked finish
I have tried inputting the dns also, but it still does not work
I have just upgraded my O2 XDA with a "cooked" 4.00.05 ROM. I simply set the GPRS connection as:
Access Point: MOBILE.O2.CO.UK
Username: web
Password: web
No other settings needed, just connected first time. Oh, did have to change the connection type from Cellular line, to Cellular Line(GPRS).
Hope this helps...
Connections Configuration:
Under Start > Settings > Connections > Connections > Advanced > Select Network, Create 3 new entries:
Globe WAP Configuration:
1. Connection Name: myGlobe WAP
2. Modem: Cellular Line (GPRS)
3. Access Point Name: www.globe.com.ph
4. No Username, Password and Domain
5. Use server-assigned IP address
6. Use software compression
7. Use IP header compression
8. Proxy Settings: Advanced > WAP Server: 203.177.42.214 / Port: 9201
Globe Internet Configuration:
1. Connection Name: myGlobe Internet
2. Modem: Cellular Line (GPRS)
3. Access Point Name: internet.globe.com.ph
4. No Username, Password and Domain
5. Use server-assigned IP address
6. Use software compression
7. Use IP header compression
8. No Proxies
Globe MMS Configuration:
1. Connection Name: myGlobe MMS
2. Modem: Cellular Line (GPRS)
3. Access Point Name: mms.globe.com.ph
4. No Username, Password and Domain
5. Use server-assigned IP address
6. Use software compression
7. Use IP header compression
8. No Proxies
MMS Composer Configuration:
Under MMS Compser > Tools > Options > "Servers" Tab:
Create New Server:
1. Server Name: myGlobe MMS
2. Gateway: 192.40.100.20
3. Server Address: http://192.40.100.22:10021/mmsc
Under MMS Compser > Tools > Options > "Preferences" Tab:
1. Connect Via: myGlobe MMS
2. Connect to Server: myGlobe MMS
3. The other settings you can leave default or change them to what suites you.
Notes:
1. WAP addresses should be preceeded by wsp:// instead of http://
2. You have to switch connections between the "myGlobe WAP" and the "myGlobe Internet" connections depending on the type of access you wish to use. (i.e. wsp://.... uses "myGlobe WAP", and http:// uses "myGlobe Internet")
3. Switching to "myGlobe MMS" is not required to send and retrieve MMS messages.
All these settings work for me, hope it dows for you too.
Thanks for your post!
Galing!
That's Great, @ least I know the configuration even I'm not there. 8)
Globe Philippines MMS settings for PPC 2003
ZeroExtreme seems to know a lot about this.
I upgraded my XDA II to the new Asian Edition that was posted here and the MMS configuration is different from the old version. The connection is still the same but the MMS composer software is different and I cannot get it to work.
I guessed that the port should 10021 but I cannot get it to work.
Has anyone experienced getting MMS to work on the new Asian Edition software for Globe Telecom Philippines?

Use the AutoConfig program in the Xda II, it should set all your connections (Internet, GPRS/WAP and MMS)
Globe Philippines MMS settings for PPC 2003
I tried that when I first upgraded and it severely corrupted the MMS options. The servers had no names and couldn'tbe editted either. It didn't work either so I did a reload of 2003 and told it not to autoconfigure.
ThE auto configure I'd tried to use was at the option that comes up after a hard reset. Is there another way that works?
Thanks...
What ROM version are you using? SE or the 1.72 from UK that was customized for Asia?

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure which flavour's what now, had tried various updates and this one seems stable..
Details are:

ROM Date: 06/14/04
Radio Version: 1.18
Protocol Version: 1337.38
ExtROM Version: 2.06.100a
Does that tell you anything?

I immediately posted version 2 of the customized ROM, since the extended ROM of the first one is based on the non-SE OS.
Look for the version 2 of the customized extended ROM for SE, the autoconfig here correctly configures the MMS with the new MMS messaging application.
CUstomised Extended Rom
Thnx Zero, can I just load the extended ROM or do I need to do a complete reload of everything?

Help with O2 Xda II Configuration for Globe Telecom Philippines
Good day.
I have followed the instrutions given on the forum about configuring my O2 XDA II's MMS and GPRS for globe but until now i have not been able to access the wap site.
I have gotten my phone from a friend who has not been using it full potential. but when i tried to use its iexplorer it could not connect to the wap site. I have gone to the globe offices here in the south but still they are unable to help me get connected.
please help me. would i still need to reformat my pocket pc and reinstall a new os for this to work?
when i go to wap sites wap.o2.co.uk it askes me to download a file it says
download the 1.04kb file "index" to the "my documents" folder in main memory.
the options u got are yes, change, cancel... i cant get to the o2 homepage.... help
ps. its a o2 simcard
It sounds as though rather than accessing the index.html file as a web page, it just thinks it is a file to download.
When did this start happening? Has it always happened? Can you go to any other wap sites on your phone?
Cheers
Ant
i cant access no wap sites.... but normal internet is fine
Hi everybody
I flashed on my new XDA Neo (it's a G4) Smart1's clear WM6 ROM and it is very cool! But I can't use a GPRS connection which I saved!
Both networks changed to "My Work Network"
Connection name: O2 WAP-Flat (Cellular Line (GPRS))
Access point name: wap.viaginterkom.de
user name: [email protected]
password: I don't write it here
Proxy server is:
HTTP: 195.182.114.52:8080
WAP: 195.182.114.52:9201
Secure WAP: 195.182.114.52:9203
I looked a few minutes ago at the connection settings and the user name and password were deleted!!! Is this a problem of these WM6 ROM or does WM6 not allow such connections?
Thanks in advance
did you ever solve this - i have the same issue with the newer ROMs here.
Hey guys
I use Wind mobile and the 3vo rom found in this forum.
My only problem is that the connection setup included in the rom is very old and it doesn't have wind mobile in its database.I went around looking for a newer version to install and I found this in another forum.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12807575#post12807575
"HTC Connection Setup PPC v3.1.2016.2829.cab"
However, upon installing,I don't know how to access the new program. When I select the connection setup,I get the following message:
"Can't find 'Connectionsetup' (or one of its components).Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the required libraries are available."
Anyone with solutions to this?
THanks.
You can set this up manually through the settings->connections->GPRS
The settings are there:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1691746-Wind-Internet-Settings
Problem solved.
Here is the solution:
I called up Wind and they weren't much help.
And yes I have gone through the link jeromecornet posted above before.
Anyways,I installed Wind's rom just to see the specific setting for
the maple.
I had to use do the instructions posted on this page below to accessed them
as they were deny.
http://stevenharman.net/blog/archive/2008/10/03/windows-mobile-internet-connection-sharing-hack.aspx
I Used Total Commander to access the Registry.
Here are the settings for the MMS to work correctly on the HTC Maple
for Wind. This is for anyone else in the same place with a wind mobile
HTC Maple.
Start - Settings - MMS Settings
Menu - MMSC settings
Add this in
NAME: WIND MMS
MMSC URL: http://mms.Windmobile.ca
WAP GATEWAY: 74.115.197.70
PORT: 8080
CONNECT VIA: WAP Network
MAX SEND SIZE: 300k
WAP VERSION: wap 2.0
Than go to Connections in Settings than GPRS and add the following
two:
1)
Name:Wind Internet
Connects to: The Internet
Access Point: internet.windmobile.ca
leave the rest BLANK.
2)
Name:Wind MMS
Connects to: WAP Network
Access Point: mms.windmobile.ca
leave the rest BLANK.
This is settings straight from the Windmobile 6.5 rom.
