Hello all,
I never been in the company of this many geniuses so I know my problem will be resolved:
I bought an Orange SPV M5000 from eBay, already preloaded with an older version o2 ROM. Anyway, I couldn’t connect to the internet thru my carrier, SunCom (and trust me the problem wasn’t with the connection settings) or thru my home wireless network. When I try connecting thru SunCom, an error message would appear, “answering modem has disconnected” and with wi-fi, “cannot connect” or when it finally does, “page cannot be displayed.” I tried everything and have exhausted myself. I tried the Imate JasJar ROM and I just updated to 1.30.107 WWE but still nothing…. Please someone let me know what’s up!! Did I purchase a faulty unit or is there a solution? I’d rather know something than nothing.
I’m lost, detached from the world right now.... If only I had this up and running...
ROM version: 1.30.107 WWE
ROM date: 04/11/06
Radio version: 1.09.00
Protocol version: 42.42.P8
ExtROM version: 1.30.162 WWE
No replies, so can someone please delete this post! I got the issued resolved. Thanks much...

Did someone upgrade his/her Asian XDA (EN language) to PPC2003 ?
Any problems ?
From what version (sw/radio) ?
Let's exchange our experiences.
Thanks,
Yes, I did. I upgraded my XDA from the shown in O2 Asia to:
ROM Ver: 4.00.01 ENG
ROM date: 05/16/03
Radio Ver: 4.21.00
Protocol Ver: 32S54
So far so good.
Dear beeheij,
how come did you upgrade radio version to 4.21.00 ? Did you get it from non-asian O2 web sites (UK) ?
On this page http://www.myxda.com/web/template/SoftwareUpgradeIntro.vm
you can find latest versions as follows for Asian XDA:
ROM version: 3.14.17 ENG
ROM date: 10/11/02
Radio: 4.17
Protocol: 32S54
Did you use wm2003.exe (obtained from here) with cradle and USB ?
Did you check GPRS, GSM, ... ?
Thank you !
Hi Brix3,
I did upgrade the RSU from O2UK. My XDA original version of ROM and RSU was the one that is provided by the O2-Asia. I upgraded the RSU from O2UK because I thought I could get an improvement on the signal reception, but it seems to be useless. In fact, my wish is to get back to the RSU 3.17, but I could not. I got all sort of error messages, and it is dangerous to play around with RSU. The signal meter in RSU 4.21.00 seems to be unreliable and poor.
Yes, I upgraded my ROM with the WM2003.exe using ActiveSync 3.7. The GPRS and GSM are all working well so far. I like WM2003, in particular because of the SMS facilities.
Let me know if I could be of help further.
yeah well i tried wm2003 on my xda, but things got worse. i got pops in my calls, frequent disconnections and basically very poor connection. loved the OS, a bit slow though, but nevertheless i'll wait for the latest version. now on SER 1.2, a lot nicer, but very cluttered!
Hi, Sorry if this is a stupid qeustion..
I have been reading around this forum and read some things that got me worried...
I just got my 9100 and I will be using it with US Tmobile. The phone is not branded and does not have a tmobile ROM. If I call and get my data plan going is my phone going to work the way it should?? Will I have to manually adjust any settings for GPRS or EDGE to function correctly??
Is there a TMobile ROM I should be using?
Heres what I have right now:
ROM version: 2.8.7.1 WWE
ROM date: 12.05.05
Radio version: 1.12.10
Protocol Version: 4.0.13.23
ExtROM version: 2.8.7.101
Any info or tips are greatly appreciated!!!
anybody???
hi folks!
i have a problem using my tytn. when i move around to areas with dead spots my mobile seems to crash. well, not the tytn, but the radio rom.
situation:
im talkin to someone with 3-5 bars. hangin up, and switch to standby mode.
then i put it in my pocket (jeans, or whatsoever)..
moving down in the cellar with heavy walls.
Now the tytn iss in standby. when i try to phone it (from another mobile) its just unreachable. so, i switch it on, and i see 3 or 5 bars.
when im trying to make a call it does not work. some seconds later the tytn recognizes that a "netsearch" will be great.
after that it is reachable.
strange thing, just because if i dont touch it, it is unreachable for days..
any suggestions?
i have
Rom version: 1.35.255.2
Radio version: 1.18.00.10
ext. Rom: 1.35.255.102
it is almost useless, because i'm never shure if its reachable or not.
thanks for helping me.

well, updated to 1.20 (radio rom) and unfortunately.. no changes..
my herm100 is not goin to recognize that there is no radio tower.
... and if there's a new... connect to a new one...
my next step is a downgrade to 1.16
i read many of all the threads in this forum and 1.16 seems to be the most stable.
tomorrow i can tell u more of my progresses.

I have posted this elsewhere but would repeat this over here.
I had exactly the same problem with my new Jasjam (S/N Ht647XXX).
The ROM originally (factory installed) when I received my Jasjam is detailed below:-
ROM Version: 1.31.305.2
ROM Date: 8th September 2006
Radio Version: 1.21.31.10
Protocol Version: 32.53.7020.01H
Ext ROM Version: 1.31.305.104
Bootloader Version:1.06
I then went to the i-mate site and downloaded the latest ROM available which is detailed below:-
ROM Version: 1.20.305.3
ROM Date: 21st July 2006
Radio Version: 1.07.03.10
Protocol Version: 32.41.1010.02H
Ext ROM Version: 1.20.305.104
Bootloader Version:1.04
This change of ROM from the one which was supplied with my jasjam to the one available on the i-mate site has totally resolved my problem.
It is rather strange that the ROM available on the i-mate site which the site says is the latest ROM available is actually older than the one which came installed on my jasjam. The only logical reason could be that i-mate realized that the ROM being shipped with their new devices has a problem and have therefore not made it available on their site.

One of my friends has an Artemis which has an FM radio and I wondered if it was possible to get this on the Hermes? Anyone have any ideas? If it possible, could you let me know if I need to update my settings and how to do this?
Orange SPV M3100
Op version: 14.123.1.614
ROM version: 1.23.61.4
ROM update: 13/07/06 (yet to download the new version Orange UK website)
Radio version: 1.06.00.00
Protocol version: 32.37.7010.01H
There's no radio for the Hermes as I'm aware of...
Google radio feeds to go, you can stream most radio stations off the net if you have a suitable data package.

The only way to have radio is to stream it to your Hermes, it is impossible to have a stand alone radio as there is no radio receiver built in to receive any type of signal.
You could try to find an FM radio SDIO card .... if one exists yet
This has been asked a billion times already... please utilize the search button next time...
And as stated before.. no hardware exists for a standalone FM receiver in the phone.. only way is to stream it..
