Hi,
This is seems to be the last version of our magic tool - Screen Rotation Service (or SRS). It includes Second Edition's Today Theme (menu & today scrollers support in landscape) and feature to automatically resize your today screen for Landscape Theme!
(Download it here: setup.armv4.exe)
During installation you will need to answer "Yes" to this message:
Code:
The file"\Windows\ace_ddi.dll" is hidden, read-only, or a system file. Would you like to replace the existing file?
After installation you need to go to: [Start menu] - [Settings] - [Today] and select "WMSE" theme from the list
And one more, minimize (X) your programs before switching
Thanx to abc and everyone here!
Re: SRS HE = Halloween Edition
Feel free to post your feedback/questions on this version of SRS to this thread
More recommendations that i remember about SRS:
1) Do not soft-reset your device when in landscape-mode
2) Minimize (X) your programs when switching between different modes
To install SRS-HE:
1] Download SRS-HE to your PC
2] Run it to get "setup.armv4.cab"
3] Copy this file to your PDA
4] Tap on it to install SRS-HE
5] Soft-reset your device
6] Go to [Start Menu] -> [Settings] -> [Today]
7] Select "Wmse" Theme from the list
8] Use [Start Menu]->[Settings]->[SRS] to switch the modes

No it is installable on any Himalaya device with any combinations of ROM, radio and ExtROMs
If it doesn't run at your specific system, you can always uninstall it without any damage. It really worth to try!
Yeah, I have ROM 1.60 (latest O2 UK rom) and it didn't work very well at all. Half the OS had problems, including the camera (even v2.5), the Today screen and many of the Control Panel applets.
I've seen reports on this site of people having fewer problems with ROM 1.66, but I don't think anybody has claimed that they've got it working with ROM 1.60 without problems.
Still, I'm hoping O2 UK are going to release 1.72 tomorrow!

Where did you get such ROM version? And why you are not moving to 1.72? It doesn't really matter who the supplier of the ExtRom is (imate, qtec, tmob...) it is a matter of OS rom content. So, just update your device and receive a set of 1.72 advantages (faster BT binding, greater performance, no good CT and so on)

No updates so far...
Everything seems to work fine...
But now it's very important to have phone app, calc app, WMP and cam app setted to run in landscape mode.

I got the update from my service provider: O2 in the UK. It's the latest version available, at the moment. I don't need all the hassle of messing about with ROMs from other countries and providers. I'll wait until the next ROM is released by O2 for me. (Tomorrow.)

I have a sugestion for all of ya, I have SRS instaled on my mda II, and I like it, but don't ever set an alarm in landscape mode, my MDA was playing the stupid melody for quite a long before it stoped.
The reason is that there were no snoose an dismiss button.
Even a soft-reset won't help.
Maybe the action button, but mine stoped by itself.

Does it support VGA?
Backlight working ?
Does the backlight button work with this release ? In the other version your device will freeze at bootup....anyone tested already ?
btw: seems to be the same version like in the other post....
Cheers
Edit:
Could not wait Just installed, no problems on my device (Artemis) and Backlight-button. Looks cool.
What i don't like: in the GUI-Config you can only add apps from the Programs-directory (for example: when you want to add solitaire (which is stored in "Games"), you need to move the shortcut into the Programs-Folder....or you need to add the registry-key in HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCPlus\Shortcuts manually....or am i wrong ?
But in the end.... i think i stay with HTC Home....
Works on Artemis?!

It's interenting that you had no problems. I also installed on my Artemis with official HTC Asia WM6 rom and yes, it works until you switch off the device. Than you can never switch it on again, only by soft reset with stylus!
So I uninstalled the prog quickly...
Otherwise it would be nice to have it on Today screen, so if someone could construct a bug-free cab from the extracted files I would really welcome it!
cheers
Anybody tried this on a Touch?
The "other" Version (as petervbeck says) in the Hermes Forum doesn't work on the Touch.
I doesn't work on my Touch!
Working on Wizard
HTC Plus is Working on Wizard!
just 2 bugs:
when you select battery status in Customization and you tab on the symbol you go to wifi settings and backlight is not working

Hello,
I have coded a replacement for dcinobar, which hides the bottom bar on the today screen, letting you use it for your today screen plugins. Unlike dcinobar, nueNoBar works with the latest wm builds (WM6.1 build 20000+). If dcinobar works on your ROM, use that instead, this is really for those new builds dcinobar's method doesn't work on.
edit: updated to 1.3, hopefully fixes more problems some people were having.
Download it from http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/page/nueNoBar.aspx ...
Thanks heaps. Good to see a much-requested app updated to the latest WM version.
On a side note, how come your rad nueLED isn't on your website ?

Hello, looks nice, but after installing it on my WM6 dvice there doen't seem to be any change after a soft reset. Is there something extra i need to do to use this?
looks like if the cab file is incomplete... not any file installed on my ppc... Wei Enterprise directory was not even created...
I got it working by manually stopping and restarting the nuenobar service.
However it also hides my phonealarm, see the screenshots (before/after) for an example.

vjtoggletodayalphaII and dcinobar weren't working with the latest ROM builds as stated by no2chem on the 1st post.

good to see what i am missing with the new builds allthough it is not fully working yet for me. for me it is working, but only after restarting the service. after every softreset i have to restart it over again.

me too, i havent had any problems with dcinobar on 3.2.5 and 3.2.6, or any of JD's roms from ppcgeeks (his builds are a bit different though, i think). just started using it really, but havent had any problems.
seems weird to me that it works on some of ours but not others.

Actually, it doesn't hang the device, it just makes it ungodly slow. It actually takes close to 1 hour for the device to get past bootloader (yes, I waited that long )
But after that, it just gets stuck in the "Tap Here to Start TF3D" and "Launching TF3D"
It looks like M2D all over again, which tells me that there might be a similar set of issues with this port as there were with M2D. In other words, the reason for this thing not starting up is probably the same as for M2D... just a thought though

Doh, I just tried to install m2d from the main development thread (v20). Took a while to install and when I did a reset it just stayed at the 4 color bars screen. I assumed it was dead and did a hard-reset. Didn't think to let it sit that way for an hour! lol
Going to try and install this xPlode version now.
I'm a little confused as to the versions though. Are we only supposed to install the xPlode version, or will we be able to install updates from the main m2d dev thread?

mp3trimmer already comes WITH itje's rom. no need to install it again. which "social network engine" are you talking about?
you'll find all programs if you click "start" (upper left) and then "all programs" (lower left).
I used this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442154 to get the cabs and installed them. Cant find the option to trim MP3s at all. and i downloaded the Touch-It Blackstone Social Network engine. Any ideas?
Im hoping that by downloading the engine that the social networking sites would pop up under the internet tab where youtube is...you know where i mean?
oh, my mistake. you installed the cab and not his rom with manila cooked in...
okay, i'm sorry, but i never used stock rom with manila-cab. but i can tell you this:
- manila works best if cooked in, use a custom rom (i.e. itje's touch-it v.10. but there are many good roms, have a look in the rom-developing-part)
- the cab you used is from november 2008, there's a newer version out now
- "social engine": never saw it in the internet tab, it connects your contacts with a corresponding facebook-friend.
so, bottom line:
programs should show where i told you above, even in the cab i think. and: manila as a cab is slow, cooked-in it flies these days.

typing this from my mobile, so to keep it short:
- you need to apply "hard-spl" first to flash a custom rom (it's a sticky)
- if you're flashing itje's v.10.2, be aware that there is a bug for some people with sending sms. i NEVER had it though. also you'll need to apply 2 or 3 fixes.
- READ READ READ!
if you're going to flash ANY custom rom you'll have to learn a lot. "just install and everything's perfect" won't work. and everytime you flash a new rom you'll loose all data on your phone, so make backup first!!!
if you're willing to get into this - do it. it's worth it and it will really improve your x1. if you want to have everything working out of the box with many restrictions - apple makes such a device...
Ill let you know how i get on, im just loading 10.2 now so we shall see

have fun then.
hope you did a backup of your data - if not, don't come yelling if it's all gone...
edit: the fixes needed
since the thread on v10 is pretty much to read (it started as v7...), for starters the 3 fixes needed with this version.
- Advanced Network (found in itje's first post, under the dl-link for the rom itself)
- "v10.2_corrected_highlights.zip" (also posted by itje, somewhere in the thread, search for it)
extract the files in these two zips to your \windows-directory (on your x1) with total commander (comes with the rom)
- v10.2_smaberg_1_percent_battery.cab (install normally. this fixes a bug that the battery-meter always shows 100% full. alternatively you could install another icon-set from this forum. watch out if they're for WinMob 6.1 or 6.5 though!)
the cooked-in build of opera mobile 9.5 doesn't work with the hardware-keyboard of xperia. either install build 16194 (iit's from an official x1-rom) or try opera mobile 9.7 beta.
every other question you should ask in the thread of the rom you've chosen.
this should set you up, from here on it's all tweaking, lots of reading, learning and adding apps to your likeness.
i have a problem like this one: i installed the touch it manila cab and then i installed the touch it htc album but... i cannot find the program... what do i have to do?
EDIT: ok i found two exe files in the windows folder wich are : HTCAlbum.exe and AlbumSearch.exe, and when i run each of them i have HTC Album... btw the problem is that i have no text in the menus... what may be the problem?
Thanks for all the advice guys...im installed and up and running and so far so good, no issues at all, the sms seems to be working fine etc.
Ill apply the fixes as noted so far as and when i come across the issues!
Cheers again all
