I'm looking to tweak Pocket Outlook on my Q9 as I rely on 20+ folders to categorize my Exchange mail. I have seen lots of utils that provide shortcuts for pageup/page down etc in PIE. I'm looking for something similar in Pocket Outlook that would allow:
- map a hotkey to directly take you to the Mail subfolders list (right now this requirse like 4 menu click/actions)
- provide a page / up /dwn functionality in this list of subfolders
- shrink font size in the Outlook mail header listing (i can only see 4 headers at a time - if font was shrunk I could get six).
- any other time savers
I find the way FlexMail handles mail subfolders but I don't think it will work well with a corporate exchange setup. Thanks!

Hi. Is there a way to sync desktop and PPC, but not synching specific categories?

Hi
Not sure exactly what your looking for but Active Sync is rather limited. I use mobsync.exe which is an addon for active sync that allows the synching of any folder on device or storage card with folders on PC.
Mike
During a sync, there are some appointments I do not not to be synced to PPC, just leave those appointments on desktop (Outlook). I was thinking of classifying all those appointments under a category and not sync that category to PPC. Is there a way to do that?
Why make it so difficult for yourself...! What you are trying to do, synching by categories, is just asking for a mess...
Instead, with either Agenda Fusion or Pocket Informant, you can set up view and global filters to hide/show whichever categories you want.
Reason is that I have a lot of appointments that are related to work and would prefer to leave them on my desktop. Have a category called Office which has all (a lot of them) work related stuff and it does take a long time to sync to mobile device. It would be nice if I could exclude them from sync. That's the reason I'm looking for a way to exclude user defined category from synching.
I think older versions of ActiveSync supported this for WM2003SE. Seems that it was removed, along with Wifi synch.
I agree that being able to include or exclude specific synch categories would be very useful for many people.
Does anyone know, is there a plug in for the calendar that will let me assign say an H for holiday for a new entry, and let me see it in the month view, it's a pain only seeing a square for all entry's.
cheers
Pocket Informant (PIM) and Pocket Breeze (Today Plugin) allow you to assign icons to categories. These can show on your calendar. Also can assign colors to the categories so the timeline on each day you can see the colors at a glance to know if its personal, business, family, or whatever you create categories for...
Thanks for that, I will have a look at them.
Dave..
One note to add

You can tell Outlook to add holidays to your calendar so that when using either of these, (I am using both btw) you will have holidays listed in your device's calendar.
Once outlook adds the holidays you simply have to assign an icon and/or a color for the holidays category.
Dear Diamonders,
Microsoft has a bug in the filtering of active tasks, right?
How have you managed to get it working? What is the third party software that just does the trick? I am not really interested in fancy PIM solutions that used color categories, etc. Just want the filter to work.
thanks in advance,
Tarmo
It works for me.
I'm synchronising with Outlook 2007, which does have colour names as default categories, but I have deleted those and created new categories for my contacts. The Diamond is allowing me to assign those new categories to tasks and filter them just fine.
I am also using Outlook 2007.
Are you saying that when opening tasks and selecting - menu - filter - all tasks/active tasks, you are getting only tasks from today and active tasks from the past. I am getting all tasks that have future date...
Or are you talking about contacts?
thanks,
Tarmo
Probably not X1 exclusive, but a pain for all X1 users nonetheless.
Has anyone figured out how to sync all Hotmail folders, and not just the inbox? I haven't found any evidence of this being a known issue.
Thanks
You must select all the folder in option-folder in outlook mobile.
Navigate to your hotmail inbox
Menu: Tools: Manage Folders:
then tick the folders you want to sync.
I only found out yesterday that if you want to rotate between your hotmail sync folders and your mms/sms folders and your outlook folders, just use your right and left button (to the side of the optical mouse)
Another related question: can you only have 1 Hotmail inbox? I have 2 addresses both of which I use regularly, but I can only seem to add 1 of them.
Is it just me or is it not possible to assign the Outlook categories to a new appointment in the HTC Calendar.
When trying to assign a category is comes up with 5 default categories (they don't exist in my Outlook Categories). But if I assign them from Outlook on the PC they are shown correctly.
And in the standard Windows Calendar it is possible to select from all categories, but a bit irritating that you have to go into the standard calendar just to assign a category to an appointment.
I agree with this too.
It's also missing a stop watch and timer app, basic programs I thought.
