This is a small program made in Flash to emulate a fullscreen virtual keyboard.
This keyboard is fullscreen and always seen in horizontal way (landscape).
It requires Flash 7 installed in your Pocket PC. If you don't have it yet, get it for free here:

You can customize the:
- Text color
- Keypad Skins
- Background image
- Pre-made personal sentences
- English version
You have three screens with keys:
- Normal
- Capital letters
- Special characters
In all of them you can delete the last character, erase all the text or COPY, this last key has two effects:
- Places all the copied text in memory
- Closes the application
Afterwards, you can choose where to paste the text, either on a SMS, a note, email, or any other application where you can use the PASTE command (or CTRL+V).

- keypad sound
- customized key alignment
- screen rotation
- New default skin (just because)
- Minimize+copy
To configure the keys sound just alter the IDsom line in mydata.txt
You may also change that on screen.
Almost all keys are configurable now, with the exception of the characters % & ) = + that cannot be dynamic because they interfere with the code.
Do note that some keys. to help the witting process, jumped to the first screen so that the user could continue witting, keys such as é ã ó, etc.
There is now the option to choose your screen rotation as default, just change the variable on mydata.txt
Or, during use, you can always press left/right (or up/down, depending on the model) to rotate the screen at will.
You can change the skin anytime by pressing up/down on your keypad (or left//right, depending on the model).
To customize your favorite skin, text color, personal sentences or use the English version, read the mydata-english.txt carefully.
Then place it in \Storage Card\Temp\FlashKeys (these folders are created the first time you run the software).
If, for some reason its not there, then search your Pocket pc with a explorer software to seek out where your temp folder is.
You can make a skin yourself, just use the example in the EXTRAS folder. It needs to be a 230x320 JPG file placed in the \Storage Card\Temp\FlashKeys folder with the name back.jpg
In case your screen is rotated you need a second file named back2.jpg
If, by any reason you need to exit the fullscreen, you can close the application with the COPY key, pressing the new minimiza buttton above the volume or press ENTER on you keypad (the button in the middle of the directionals keys).
Place the EXE file where ever you want, make a shortcut or call it with a defined key on your Pocket PC, its your choice.
This software is compatible with WM2003 and WM6. I didn't tested it on WM5, but it should work fine.
The WM2002 version was not created, but can be made easily by request.
Use and distribute this as you want, it was made for all of us.

Weel, you can select the text with your stylus and i think you can cut and paste also, but that wouldnt work very good, at least with my flash-actionscript limitations, sorry...

its made for 320x240 but it -should- resize itself for any screen, but thats something only the flash player itself can manage. Let me know how he reacts to your screen...

The keys would be too small in 240x320 and it would loose its purpose...
but, yes, it is possible, just not in a direct way... Maybe in the next version, but again, they keys would be really small, when compared to the landscape version...
My Qtek S100 is on portrait mode, but I still use that on landscape, it doesnt affect anything in the system, just gives me more room to have the full keyboard keys in that qwerty kind of way.

Yeah, I was wondering that too. I was thinking of picking up a Trinity and need something like this, but I would like to be able to delete things.

well, right now you can, but only the last character written... you can also remove things manually by sellecting the text with your stylus and choosing CUT (not sure about this), but im afraid i dont know how to make actioscript in flash that lets you delete part of the texto in the middle, sorry...

Nice app i like it - not really needed on my wizard but usefull on my artemis.

Got ya twolf - my reading is a little slow

Two questions here for improvement:
1. & is missing from &Key1 at data.txt, initialized by the program - leading key 1 undefined, but this can be corrected by mydata.txt.
2. &FAVSkin cannot be initialized by mydata.txt - always start with default skin, but it can be changed by D-Pad.

1 - yes, that is normal, the first variable cannnot have the & in order to work in flash.
2 - Hmmmm.... I believe it works, he just assumes the jpg file as a sefault, if it doesnt exists, he then selectes the number you picked in that variable as the skin you want. But yes, it can be changed via D-pad always during the use of the application.
Are you sure it doesnt work? You did configured it in mydata.txt, right?

Black Skin Pack (Dialpad / Comm Manager / Theme / Slide2Unlock)

I would like to present my Black Skin Pack. I did not make the programs, but I modyfied most of them to give the appereance i want.
The Last of that Projects was the creation of my Comm Manager Skin. I hope you'll like it. I took Shaps Kaiser Comm manager to start the Creation. And it will identify like that in the Installed Programm List.

For the Slide2Unlock Skin just Copy the files into the GFX Folder and overwrite the original ones. If you dont have that Program you can download it here
If your Rom Cooker has skinned the Pin-Number input, and you want that black just delete the reg-key "HKLM/Security/ResOver/Bitmaps/BaseDll".
I used the PHM Registry Editor
Unfortunatly the Dialpad Skin will switch your Today Skin, too. So you have to switch the Today Skin again after you have installed the Dialpad

Important:
The Buttons for the phone being muted were missing in my first release of the Comm Manager, so you should download the fixed file I just uploaded. I first did not realize that because I only tested the functions of Comm Manager itself.
You can help me to improve my Comm Manager if you could get me the answers to the following Questions:
There are some Buttons missing to get all Functions intigrated. So where is the definition of which png belongs to which funktion and how could that be changed.
Maybe the key to that problem can be found in the SCHAPS~1.000 file but i wasnt able to open it correctly. So does sombody know what Filetype the File is and how it can be opend and edited (Notepad gives me nonsense)
Some insight in the Reg Key HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\DisableButtonText would be nice. For it is responsible for displaying the Comm Manager in different ways. But with the PNG's the only usable option is the Value 2. Otherwise you got the original Comm Manager displayed. But the Options are quite interresting (0 = Original Setup with Button Text on the Top / 2 = Buttontext on every Button / 3 = No Button Text.). But there has to be a place to where this Key is referring.

To your second question. The Comm Manager can be uninstalled through the "Installed Program List" in Windows Settings. But if u use the default Comm Manager u can go back too by editing HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\DisableButtonText (Value from 2 to 0)

First of all no Question is a noob question. We all had to learn once.
There is no Language File in all of the Skins. MS made the wonderful thing to store them in other lokations and not meld them with the Skin Files since WM5 (i think it is since WM5). So u can use this Package with every Language

For i dont now Psshutxp i cant promise you anything. But i'll have a look at that.
For the Fonts: I can't really say anything about the Fonts in your english rom, because i'm not able to get them displayed with my device. But i can tell you that i'm not satisfied with the Button Texts, too. I wanted them not to be displayed, but i cant find the keys resposible for that. There is a reg key in the setup.xml, that seems able to do that, but if i change it the skin is gone, too. If anybody knows how that task is done pleas tell me.
General Information:
There are the PNG files of the Backgrounds and Buttons, the Commmanager.exe and a file I was not able to identify in my cab File (SCHAPS~1.000). Maybe the Key to that Task is in that last file, but i'm not shure which Program I should use to open it properly, because this file isn't mentioned in the setup.xml. Notepad gives me a lot of glyphes beside some readable information. And I'm really not sure what it does (im much better in editing graphics than programmng, actually).
I also would like to know where i can find the assignement Buttons=Tasks so that i'm able to integrate new tasks with new Buttons into the Comm manager
(i would like to integrate voip, for example).
I would be grateful for help

I checked the downloads and was able to unzip them with Windows and WinRAR without problems. I think your download has been corrupted. I think you should try again to download the files.
Beside that I must honestly say that i did not know where your problem is.

Maybe you have an other Comm Manager installed. You first have to uninstall it.
When does the Installation Process stop? During the installation or at the beginning?
EDIT: I downloaded my file and installed it. It is working on my device.

I think your question refers to the smartdial funktion. Whenever you start dialing, the matches found on your phone will be displayed. I believe that this is a funktion of WM5 and WM6 (programmed by HTC), it appeared in every dialpad skin i tried on my phone (if the skin was programmed for WM5 or WM6 and that funktion is supported by them).
And sorry if i have to say that. My programming skills are very limited so i do not really know.
But there are several reg-keys in the setup.xml referring to the smartdial funktion. The best thing you can do to check that is by using a regestry editor (i provided a link to one in my first post) and edit that keys one after an other and look what will happen (dont forget to reboot after each change). I know, that this is a long process and it cant be seen if u have success by doing that. But that is the way i'm going through all the times I change programms.
You'll find the keys referring to Smartdial in "HKLM\Software\HTC\SmartDialing"
I hope that is what u want and u'll have success with that. I think you'll not damage anything by doing that, if u do one change after an other and remeber the original settings. But I for shure can't give you a guaranty.

Indeed, when I start to compose a number, the smartdial tries to match contact links, but what I'm talking about is present all the time, not only when I compose a number.

NEW CAB for DIAMOND 3G VIDEO-DIALER SKIN for Polaris !

THE Buttons for active video calls and Landscape are not skinned at the moment but they are working with your default Buttons.
This is just working on any Polaris (touchcruise, Orbit2) and maybe Kaiser (?)and changes just your graphics in windows folder to Diamond Style and changes/adds some registry entries for the progress screen to get a dark text color on the white buttons (screenshot 2). It works with any language.
This is only tested with wm 6.0, i can cause small graphic Problems with wm 6.1 (see last Post).

Tried on TyTN II with Hyperdragon IIIs full rom, main dialer screen works but the end call screen doesn't seem to work, or is it the new skin doesn't include the end call screen.
Smartdial is working, but Video call is working, error message saying that 3G network is not available. Not sure at this moment if it was due to Rom 3G dialer or not.

- my Idea was, why install a new "not working" Dialer if whe can change just the graphics of the existing one ? so on Polaris everything must work.
- im still working with original Diamond graphics now and you will get a much more beautifull Dialer (see Post 2),
- the video, erase.... buttons are to bright at the moment, this will be solved with next version.
- the End-screen will come also, its not included at the moment, first i must search for all buttons in my windows directory
- maybe i do landscape too, but never seen anyone phone in landscape
if anyone finds a bug (forgotten graphic) post here.

wow, great minds think alike. I was just thinking about which icon to use for my 3g idaler skin and came across one I like on Google search. Then I run across this and you ended up using the same exact one! Guess i will use something else.

btw, can you post a screen shot of the progress page during call and after hang up. i need to see what are the functions of the buttons during and after call.

I used with a little of reworking original Diamond buttons found in the oem pack of diamond. The video/Call list and erase buttons are made by me with using diamond background buttons.
at the moment this is just the dialpad, but i am working on a solution for dialing in progress. Here is a first screenshot:
Problem that will come:
1. this dialer uses white text on blank black buttons, so there will be a problem when using white Buttons ? maybe i have to do some changes in the registy to solve that problem.
2. I Can´t locate exactly the other blank buttons without text. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHICH ARE THE EXACT NAMES OF THIS BLANK BUTTONS; FOUND 3 OR 4 BUTTONS THAT COULD BE USED BY THE DIALER IN MY WINDOWS DIRECTORY ?
2. The VideoCall Button was easy, its skinnable on its own and not using the other blank background buttons with text, so i could use a picture for it.

still working on Dialing screen, but now i got this graphics bug on the first row
i found out that the blank buttons the dialer uses are called CmdBtn..., EdBtn... and TkBtn... but my same button has the bug only in first row ?

will work on this tomorrow.

i copied these files to my windows folder but there was nothing to replace. I did a soft reset, and i still had the same htc dialer. doesnt work on the Kaiser i guess.

For different color of Progress page text, try:
HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\PROGRESS\portrait(landscape)\VerbButton\textFlags
it is probably at ffffff (white), try changing it to 0 for black. remember to wait a few minutes before soft resetting.
I use to also think that making skin for Landscape was a waste of time. But if you don't do it, there will be a line of people asking for it, so you might as well do it.

This is working because i changed only graphics.
Its just tested on Polaris Dialer (touchcruise/Orbit 2). No Landscape support.
This is not working if you have another Phone or Dialer. maybe on Kaiser if it has the same htc dialer ?
-make a copy of original graphics (see in my folder which graphics are replaced) or make a backup. When you do a hardreset your original graphics are back of course.
What to do: download, unzip and put the Folder on your touchcruise, use TotalCommander and put all graphics from my folder directly in your windows directory. Make a softreset. Ready.

Tested on my TyTN II running on Hyperdragon IIIs full rom. I like the previous version of video call button better. Anyway, appreciate the efforts. BTW, I think the last screen buttons had not been done.

Additional note:
1: If you want to use my wmp skin, download from attachments, unzip, copy to sd-card and choose as skin in wmp
2: Cube is REMOVED, you cant enable it, you must find a cab, or add the files manually.
3: Scrolling in contacts has a weird bug,no scrolling. Im not sure what cause this, but I will post a fix when I figure it out.

You will experience that after flashing and booting up, the system will "hang" just let the device rest 20-30 sec before operating it.
after configuring, do a soft reset.
I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON NIKE
after switching to task manager version 2.0.31249.1
the problem is gone

not entirly true, because I have used that version, and the problem is still there
I use a newer version now, but obviously same issue is present.
But for some reason my wwe version dont have this issue.

also remove connection setup aurostart from registry

ill try it, but in the wwe version it all works fine, no lag or hanging

when you hang up a call, it says "Redial".. you forgot to translate it!
Getting anywhere with the scrolling problem?
Everything else is working fine yet!

one more "problem".. when Im typing a sms message, the touch diamond keypad buttons don't show that the are being pressed. They only do that if I hold the button down for a long time! Your previous touch-it release didn't hva this problem! (If it even is a problem? Or is it supposed to be like this?)
It shows that it is being pressed when I press the ABC T9 button!

i have not translated, im using language files from norwegian rom so if there is a language problem, then its there from htc's side
have you chosen norwegian as default language in keyboard option? cause it works fine for me.
and maybe try to select norwegian in instillinger/regionale instillinger?

see also bottom of my first post, there is a link to language cab files for diamond keyboard, perhaps installing the norwegian keyboard cab the issues might be solved.

Great ROM
This is the fastest 6.1 ROM I've tried yet. But you really need to fix that hang that always occurs after a soft reset. It happens when I click the top menu bar (either start menu, taskbar icon or something similar). Then total freeze for 20-30 seconds. But after that it's blazing fast and so far totally stable.
Missing jbed java runtime, but that I can always install myself. I'm missing the cube though. I was a keen "cuber" and wonder what is the quickest way to re-enable it?
Also, quick contacts on the today screen in the home plugin does not seem to work (probably because you have removed the cube).

1. working with it. But to me the advantage with this build outweights the minus (hanging issue) I solved it in wwe version, but same "fix" didnt work with this..but as I said, im working on it
2. one of the reasons its fast is because cube is removed, so depends on what you want but if u want cube, you need to install a cab...
3. that quick contacts in htc home is not workin, has nothing to do with the cube is gone, It has with registry settings beeing diffrent somehow, I will look into it.

After installing so I decided to reisntall another ROM because this one is freezing and can not make a connection with PC.
May the writer making the ROM more stable and functional so can be installed again.

did you read anything from the 1st post?
besides, connection to pc? Im using this rom, its a released rom of my personal rom, and Im syncing it almost everyday.
the rom is very stable, the hanging issue with this buildversion is common, but acceptable due to its stability and speed.

I should've explained... BootLauncher runs at start up, and loads things like the Volume Control into RAM.
It's needed for correct operation of some of the programs.

Hi thanks for put the cabs in one post its very useful.
I tried the Opal Radio from herg62123 and sadly dont work, say something like the "uncertified signed". I must to say that its the same that diamond with resolution 640x480 and in the cab dont figure the DLL(FMS.dll and FMS_api.dll) and BTS(FMInit_2.bts, FM_on_2_0.bts, FM_on_2_1.bts). Well I add this dll files and run but only the first screen (the warning screen for the headphones) when I want to past to second screen(the FMRadio app) appears a popup of unexpected error.
I dont know if needs bootlauncher or edit the exe with Hexeditor.
Please can help me?
BTW: my suggestion about the FMRadio its dont work with the diamond one unless you know how modify the FM_skins.pkg, I suggest work with the "Touch HD" one because this dont use anymore the FM_skins.pkg and works with PNG simple files.

Does anyone know if theres a way to change the smart dialing in the opal phone canvas so that when youre using smart dialing and have only pressed say 3 numbers, it will dial the number at the top of the smart dialing list rather than the 3 numbers you have pressed?
For example say you have a contact Mike
you dial 645 (mik)
And your smart dial list looks like
Mike C.
Mike L.
Mike Z.
and when you hit the talk button rather than dialing 645 it dials Mike C.
It drives me crazy having to hit down then talk as opposed to just talk. I was able to fix this issue on the htc dialer by using the kaiser smart dialing dlls, however I do not see them anywhere in the opal phone canvas so Im assuming smart dialing is embedded and I'm unsure as to how to go about solving this issue.

No, it doesn't. It has a registry configuration for it, but it's not necessary at all.
Also, since the Keyboards can already be downloaded here, with customized settings for all HTC hardware configurations, you should note that with your cab, extracted from a device with No Hardware keyboard, it won't be possible to:
1] Use hardware keyboards on Nike phones
2] Customize hardware keyboard layouts on Full Keyboards phones and get T9/ABC on them.
As well, I can't even assure you or anybody else that the additional Language Packs I've made will work without issues. The library has several bugs that had to be patched, and it won't even be possible to enable some languages on your configuration.

I have to disagree. If I am looking at the package correctly, the SIP changer requires the bootlauncher.
I'll try playing with it later and return more detailed results

SIPChanger does, but you can set the keyboard defaults etc without it, or you can load SIPChanger via a shortcut in startup. I prefer the bootlauncher method as I have it cooked in, but it's not absolutely required.

As that ROM appears to be a blackstone (not Opal) ROM, I have no idea. I'd guess it does as all the shipped dialers I've extracted do.

You disagree because you don't know the technology well enough.
If you look at the package correctly, you'll see that BootLauncher is required *only* if you need the SipMenu. But since the SipMenu won't be available for pre-Manila2D phones due to driver issues, you don't need it at all.
In the standard configuration, the SIP changer already starts via the link in the Startup folder, so the registry configuration for it is redundant.
Packaging doesn't mean just throwing all files in, you should already know it by now.
