Hey everyone, I just got my wing a few days ago and have everything up and running perfectly....I love this phone! However, I am unable to activate the internet sharing application. It does not exist in the "programs/accessories" folder. There is no program in the windows directory. I am also using the 10button comm manager, and am unable to activate it directly, although all other connections work flawlessly.
I am running Touch_It for wing, 6 Meg PP, HTC 6 button home, 10button comm manager, slide to unlock, and a few other apps.
I have searched this forum, as well as many others extensively w/o help. Also, I have searched online and p2p for an application and came up empty handed.
Thanks in advance for any advice you might be able to offer!
I am lookinf for the same thing
Found it!!

I have been using an unlocked Cingular 8525 on Tmobile USA for a couple of days now, and with a bit of tweaking and a HTC ROM flash everything is working great. The only thing I can't find is the TMobile hotspot login utility. I still have my wizard with login utility installed. If anyone knows how to get the program off the wizard and on the hermes, or if anyone knows where I can download, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
See this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=261650, I think the only one you need is the 002_Signed_2005_11_24_TOHTC_wispa_PPC_Release_v1_0_1_1 [HotSpot Login] xx.CAB
You do not need all of the cab files in it though. The description of the files should be enough.
I am like you, using the 8525 with the 2.05 HTC rom.
It installs the icon in the Programs Menu and when you click on it, it will tell you if it detects a T-mobile hotspot; it also puts an icon in the connections (off of the settings menu).

Exactly what I needed. Thanks alot. I wish that someone had created a zip file like that with all the settings when using a 8525 on TmoUSA. It took me a while, but I finally got mine working well. It helped to have the wizard handy to go into to retrieve the TMo settings and access point names. Now we just have to sit and wait for TMo to toll out the high speed here in the USA.
In the long tradition of KaiserSimFix, here's something for the broken Wireless Networks detected pop-up in the OEM AT&T FUZE rom that is hardcoded to ON after each soft-reset.
Install the cab and it will install the program into the right places to auto-start it after each soft-reset. You are also given the option of running it immediately.
I acknowledge that chetstriker did it first Nov/2008 in his thread, but mine does all the installation work for you, is coded in C optimized for ARMv5T, exe compressed, and takes less storage.
Takes 11K of storage and 1K of ram.
Thanks for the mention. I'm glad you added it as a .cab I just never got around to it.

Thanks for being nice after I stepped on yours. I actually created the fix right before I found your thread.. ^_^;
I also added you into the Wiki for this fix, since the Wiki was saying there's no known fix, and you've fixed it a while already.
hi there, i have the same annoying issue with the tough3g after every soft reset. can i use this cab file on my device too?
thanks
tried it and it worked on the HTC touch 3g!
Thanks!!!
This tool is also working for me!
Hi Folks,
1st thread on here.
Just got myself a spank new Touch Pro2. First thing i did before i started installing my apps was to check HTC website for Updates. Sure enough they had a new ROM version and WM6.5 upgrade. Now i have it working exactly how i want except for LogMeIn. I have used LogMeIN on my HP Ipaq for ages but cant get it sorted out on my HTC. Is it an issue with WM6.5 i wonders?
Basically it looks like it wont work with Opera at all. In Internet Explorer I can download and install the RActrlCE.cab file no prob. Looks good, can login to my list of computers, can even get as far as being connected to the required PC but when i click the Remote Control icon all i get is a white screen.
Any suggestions???
Have the same problem would really appreciate any help... Pls.
wm6.5 comes with the newer version of PIE (pocket internet explorer) which is not compatible with the plugin logmein uses for remote desktop. You can try and do a search to the wm6/6.1 PIE cab file. Hope that helps, cuz I was in the same boat.
LogmeIn works on my 6.5-official ROM in IE.

Not in mine!, you can install IE TOGGLE, it let's you use PocketIE (the old version of IE), with that Logmein works
log me in
it took me ages to work this out... i have to use the old version of explorer (downloaded from here somewhere, although the ie switcher might work also) and i need to use 'kfortp' which lets me type in logmein when i am connected, before i could connect but not type anything. crazy
LogMeIn's response
I raised a ticket with LogMeIn about this and got this highly useful reply 2 days later.
"We have discovered an issue when connecting to a LogMeIn computer using a mobile device running Windows Mobile 6.1.4 / 6.5 and IE6 Mobile. Currently, it is NOT possible to connect with these devices due to incompatibility with the plugin.
I hope this helps. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.

If anyone is reading this don't install kfortouchpro. Which i read on another forum was required to get this to work. I don't see what the need for it is. Plus it froze my Touch Pro2 up on the first reboot after install. Luckily i was able to connect to my phone with activesync and uninstall the app to stop my phone from freezing up . Hope this helps someone. As far as Logmein working just use the two files below. Install XDA first, reboot, install IEtoggle, open IEtoggle, switch IE to PIE, start up IE and sign into logmein. This worked for me. Hope it helps someone. Sorry if this is already on this forum somewhere else.

I tried this and it works but now I cannot get IEtoggle to switch me back to IE6. I tried restarting and then selecting IEtoggle, thinking PIE was somehow still running, but even after this I am still stuck in PIE.
EDIT: Since this original post on 4/18 I have had to do a hard reset, since my email and SMS windows for individual messages (compose, read) were not popping up. I have no idea if it is related to using IEtoggle, but I am not going to use this again on my TouchPro2 6.5 just to be safe.
after some trial and error
Here goes, first off i apologize horizons1. I have the same phone and WM version as you. Haven't experienced any of these problems. All i can say is make sure you install XDA WM 6.1 PIE first, then reboot, then install IEtoggle might of been your problem. After further testing i have found that Kfortouchpro is necessary to log into windows from your log in screen or type any text once in windows. When opening kfortouchpro it lets you switch to M$ IME which is required for your keyboard to work. Now after testing this for a bit, if you don't switch it back to eT9/multiplay in the program before you reboot it will not display your slider bar to unlock your phone on boot up. Only way to fix is with activesync. Have tested this 3 times in different configs. I wish i could just use remote desktop thats built into WM. But i am currently connected behind two routers one being bridged to the other. Have tried many times to get this to work with no luck. So if anyone can help me with that, it would be much appreciated. Too bad logmein won't just patch this problem. Their program works great after jumping through all these hoops to get to your desktop.

I recently got my first WinMob phone the HTC Pure and I love it so far... I have hard unlocked it which was first time doing that and it went swimmingly! The ROM upgrades have been easy and great as well. I am experiencing 1 issue though... The YouTube app times out / taps out when trying to connect and stream any ideas on how to rectify this issue?
C'mon all these brilliant minds on here and no one can tell me why no flash streaming will work on my phone....
ps its an HTC Pure running... you name it i've tried every ROM on XDA
currently Dutty's Holy Grail R1
Is there some data setting im missing or am i missing a file for this...
Here ya go. You'll need a good registry editor. Resco File Explorer with Reg addon or CeRegEdit will do the trick if you don't already have one.

Thanks for that. I had no trouble getting youtube with 4 bars, but less than that it used to not work. Although considering att's coverage where I live, it almost never worked.
Thank you so much WMguy!!!
Disable proxy in connection settings does the same thing.
I just bought an HTC Pure for my wife. I'm pretty savvy with windows mobile. I have a tilt for my personal phone and I have a touch pro 2 from sprint as my work phone. I work for sprint and troubleshoot Windows mobile phones. My wife doesn't need or want internet on her HTC Pure.
One thing I am not to good with is registry tweaks. When i went to Start|Settings|Connections I noticed that media net is not configurable. As to my tilt, I can edit these settings. I want to be able to Media Net so I can permanently disable internet on her HTC Pure.
I know that AT&T required internet on all newly purchased smart devices. I did not buy this device from AT&T and did not sing a contract stating that I would add a data plan. There are ways to weasel out of paying for data.
Is there a cab file I can install to gain functionality to ed the Media Net settings? If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance

OK so I found a program called no data. I guess I was choosing the wrong words to search by.

I don't want to call this solved until I try the program out. My wife is at work right now.
Thanks
I just purchased an htc pure. I've been looking into something like this. Please let me know if this is the answer. The link you posted says this worked untill the incorporation of NETCF 3.5. I have no clue what this means. I am with at&t and am not under contract. Thanks brndnddge
Edit: I installed this version and also tried the file at ModaCo which seems to be updated . Im in file explorer and the only file i can open is the setup.xml. I thought i had to run a cab file? When I click setup.xml it appears to stall with a white screen and does nothing?
