tonight when I got home, I took my phone and set it on the table and noticed the green light was blinking very fast, looked erratic even... and just watching it.. it suddenly opened the dialer and called the last number dialed (work)
I tried a soft reset, nada
turning on flight mode stops it, but then it makes the phone kinda pointless
putting it in the charger I get the standard solid orange while charging, haven't noticed it try and dial anything yet but I am watching it.
I have helmi's WM6 Rom installed
any help?
and yes.. I tried searching... didn't find much
ok.. the rapid blinking was for a remimder for something I had scheduled for tommorrow.... but I am still baffled as to why it dialed out!

So I been having that same rom that was out since Cingular 8525 launch with. I been to lazy to upgrade the rom until the message, IE and the bottom set of buttons would stop working from time to time. So I decided to upgrade to Black 3.01 and the problem still continues but now I'm having other problems like where the screen would fade out into white. Yesterday my phone would not wake up from the white screen so I had to hard reset it. Nows it working fine but now I can't even tell if my phone is charging since it doesn't have that steady red light when its being charge.
EDIT: Also when I click on the Power button to turn it off it doesn't turn it off 100%, I could still see the screen but barely...

I presume you mean steady Amber when charging (that's what you want, RED means it is not charging)
When you go to start> settings> power and check from time to time does it show the charge going up or down when charger plugged in.
Actually I don't like the sound of the "fading to white" you describe. This has been reported several times and is linked to lower keys not responding. (If that comes back again I'd go for a replacement phone - there is currently no fix for this).

Thanks for the info. I just try switching it to the new AT&T rom and I'm still having the same problems. I'm going to call Cingular on Monday. If you have the link to the original rom it came with please post it. I'm going to search for it, thanks!
I had my 8525 plugged in during the night when a storm came through and we lost power. The next morning I realized my status leds didn't work and it takes along time to find a signal after a soft reset. I do know that the leds work because last night when I plugged the phone into charge the led came on and wouldn't go off. I checked it at lunch and it was off. I tried the Nuled program to control the leds and that didn't work any ideas.
try a hard rest. I'd also check on mtty in case of bad blocks...

Got my Nike about one week ago, and everything was fine but from few days green LED is turned on constantly, also if i will turn off the phone. It only goes off if i will take out the battery, but straight after putting it back into phone it lights up :/ When phone is turned on and the LED is on and i will slide keyboard out and in it goes off for some time. I turned off diodes in registry but it's still the same.
Can any one help me? It looks like it's draining battery much faster frome the time it happened for first time.

Thanks for that app, but i don't think that it will help because led is on also when the phone is turned off, but any way i will give it a try.

So I bought a Typhoon a while ago and everything worked great. I upgraded to a new phone and put this one down for a while. I jumped the battery and charged it. Great.
At first when I turned the phone on, it was white. No button lights either. So I thought the unit was done. I had 2 other dead(507ed) Blackberries(revived one ) and left the win mo charge for a while on AC. Came back, turned it on, now it was white at first and then started displaying vertical bars of various colors, and static like an old tv, but with colors, almost mimicing the startup sequence. Still no buttons. After messing with it for a while, I plugged it into the USB for a final time and lo and behold, I got activesync to pick it up, explorer and everything. Alarm started freaking out and everything... with no buttons.
Next day, After messing with it some more, I got the buttons to work with no light, got the light after unlocking it(service and app) for some reason. The backlight timer for the display and buttons also now worked... but still either a white screen or garbled whatnot.
When I try to upgrade, I get version 1.1.0.0. I can get into the bootloader (camera, plug in USB). When the comp begins the upgrade, It shuts down the connection and the phone, restarts the phone and connection, and ends it with a 264 error (no connection).
Sorry for the long story, but I made so much progress, I wanna get it working again. Any ideas??

After office i just headed towards my home and checked my htc made a call and then I put the phone into my jeans pocket, rode the bike and went to home. When i reached to the home i placed the phone on table and after 2 to 3 hours i checked the phone and it was damn dead..................Till now i am not able to start the phone..................Can any body on earthy can help me...I love my phone but now its gone dead.
Any solutions please
Did you try turn it on while charging it? Did the orange color LED light up while charging?

i just cooked mine with shadow 2.1.
he got strange behavior turning off all night (i do in the morning), he looks fine at start, but if i stop use and i suppose he enter on standby suddenly he ar turned off, now I cant turn him on and on charging he just show orange light, shows "smart mobility" and dont start. tks in advance
