Custom Kaiser Lanyards - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Accessories

They are available here.
Would any of you be interested in a small wrist lanyard or a neck lanyard that would be custom made for the kaiser? I am having some made for me, but I would need to order in bulk, and I don't have the need for more than one
Either way, I just talked to the rep who makes them, and I gave him some specific requests for a custom lanyard that would:
A: Not have any material that could scratch the Kaiser
B: Would have the smallest quick release connector made
C: Would have the smallest strap that would fit around your hand to get on your wrist, thus leaving only the minimal hanging strap when in a case.
D: Would be Black to match the Kaiser
E: Could have custom imprinting on the strap to say.... Kaiser, TytnII, HTC, whatever we would want it to say.. or nothing at all.
Let me know if anyone would be interested. I'm pretty sure the cost would be less than a few bucks... Either way I will be ordering them for myself.
JB

I'd be in for a couple.

Excellent... Anyone else?
RemE: You would be good with the small wriststrap correct?
JB

Yes, and I've liked this type minimal length lanyard for other small things like cameras as well, that's why I'd like a couple.

If you're putting a quick release on it anyway; how about making a wrist strap & a neck lanyard matching pair that has the same connector... easy to switch off between them. I think that'd be cool and worth a few extra bucks.

Check these guys out, they may have what you need already.

Note, thay also make an attachment that threads through any spot meant for a camera type wrist strap. Not sure if the Kaiser has one of these, but it looks like it may from the pictures I have seen.
The thing I like about this system is that you can use the clips with more than one device.
One thing to note though, I tried the Harmony headphones with my 8125, and could only get one side of the headphones working. Seems the 4pin 2.5mm connectors used on the 8125 do not have any type of standard for how they are wired. I am guessing this would not be the case with the Kaiser, but you would need to use the usb to 3.5mm adapter in conjunction with the rivet offerings.

Thanks for the link... but the lanyards they have, use metal adapters and that is what I am trying to avoid. The metal adapters will scratch the device. Not to be too anal, but when you pay 800 for a device, it's always a good idea to keep it in mint condition to have a good resale when the next hot device comes out.

Spend a bit more and get this then...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333707
I'd say it has easily prevented $20 worth of scratches on my wife's iPhone already and it also has just a slightly tackier feel to it, so the phone doesn't slip out of your fingers as easily, although the OP on this link indicates the Kaiser already has a tacky backplate, probably for that very reason.

Thats a great idea as well... But my own reason for wanting a lanyard is to help me pull the device out of the belt case that I use to carry it in... Almost everytime I have dropped a phone, it has been when I am taking it out of the case... With the lanyard on it, It will be easier to pull out, as well as keep it from hitting the ground.
I have been super busy at work, but I will be making the phone call very soon to get the lanyards...
JB

Well... I just finished getting a quote for the lanyards...
Looks like my idea is getting stomped...
The company wants a minimum order of 100 units at 1.52 per unit... That means I would have to dish out 160 dollars... Thats fine with me, but I'm concerned I wouldn't be able to get the money back...
Also, they won't send out one neck lanyard and one wrist lanyard with a cell conector, since it would mean that they would have to have more male connectors than female connectors. So the only way is to order half of the lanyards as 36" and the other half as 12"...
Either way, they are very nice lanyards and I really want a few for myself. If you all think I could get rid of 90 of them then I will go and order them...
Another Idea I had, was to have, "XDA Developers" prnted on the lanyard, and the site can use them as a way to help get donations.... such as selling lanyards for 5 bucks or so...
Gimme some feedback if ya all would please.
JB

I'd pop for 10, short ones.

I take enough pride in my geekness to buy something branded with XDA Developers, but I don't have a need for a lanyard.
It's a pretty good idea though. You may want to get it out to a broader audience via another more general post, as I am sure the interest would apply for other devices as well. Me thinks one of the moderators should be able to help out with this.

Ok, I will order the Lanyards with, "XDA Developers" on the lanyard. The lanyard will be polyester black, and the text will be a dark grey. I'm not into big bright text, I like being low key.
It will be 50 neck lanyards and 50 small wrist lanyards.
I don't think I will have an issue getting them outa my hands.
JB

let me know when you get em - m presumably you take paypal?
I am a bit of a loser for a lanyard!!!

Ok willdo...
JB

I'll take 1 of each
1 wrist & 1 neck
preferably PAYPAL as well
what route of delivery to Canucks ??
5 bucks ... 5 bucks ... 5 bucks

Your Athena is obsolete already :(

Well, I have all the stupid little things that are wrong with the Athena. They keyboard is often commented on, I have no idea why the Athena wasnt better...

Too big, man. The Athena is significantly smaller.
it is not a PDA-Phone
it is an UMPC
7" Is just way to big
No weeping here they can keep it.
That is the HTC Shift. it has been well known for quite a while there are even much better pictures than that available. Areas of contention:
-Resolution was reported to be better specked than on your link
-Unconfirmed if it will run WM6, seems unlikely HTC would license 2 O/S for one device, ie costs to them and than users.
Looks very interesting. However, I don't find it appealing to me the same as way Athena. Portability factor is not as attractive as Athena. I prefer no keyboard (I like a tablet) and size no bigger than Athena. I like the storage capacity though. I don't know if running Vista on it would be sluggish and taxing on the battery, so let's wait and see. I wonder how easy it is for the phone to respond to incoming calls under Vista.
yea dude...thats the htc shift...that piece of crap is tooo darn big for a pocket...
Is this not like the cPC thing that flopped on a major level? With a dual boot between standard Windows and Mobile Windows?
Although, the fingerprint thing would be interesting for me with some of the software I'm using, but not for a major price increase........

Who says I can't have both? I have two pockets. Just have to make one pocket bigger than the other. ;-)
I'm trying to decide if I want to order one or not. My deciding factor was the built in GPS. Since I see that the Shift may have built in GPS, it's becoming more attractive to me. Just soooo damn big. 7" screen. I have a PVR that has a 7" screen with a 100gig HD and it won't fit into my pocket. Just too big. I leave it in my back pack. I don't want to carry my back pack just because my new phone is too big. Still deciding.
Carrying the Athena? (let alone anything bigger)
With respect to size, even the Athena is plenty big. I still haven't found a solution I like for carrying it with me. If I'm wearing pants with large pockets, that sort of works except for looking kinda freakish. And it really won't fit in some pockets.
I have also tried a camera bag that clips onto my belt. That lasted about 30 minutes. Just too dang bulky. So much of the time I carry it around like a little purse, which irritates me because I'm always afraid I'll forget it. (How do women do this??)
None of the commercial cases I've looked at have seemed like they will do what I want. The best solution I saw was a metal frame that hooks on to the stock case with a belt clip that this guy posted pictures of, but he hasn't responded to my inquiries about making me one!

My sentiments exactly! I need to carry it so I can have both hands free, ALWAYS. That means a belt case. My latest addition (3rd attempt) was a nintendo DS lite case. Guess what, it doesn't fit! Maybe we could persuade that guy with the metal clip to have a go for us, and give us a quote?

He hasn't responded to PMs and his email is hidden. Hopefully he'll check back some day and notice we're looking for him! For me, this might be the best approach. I really like the stock case (know I'm a minority there), but it does work for me. For example, sits flat for tabletop typing, EZ in/out of case to use it in tablet mode, keyboard pops right into place while still in the case, etc... EXCEPT for the missing belt clip.!!
I have absolutely no issue in carrying the unit around. This is what I have. I can either bring the keyboard with me or leave it behind.

The device is well protected. Not a single scratch until now. The unit still look brand new.

Sports (Running/ Jogging) holder/ armband for TyTn II?

Does anyone know of a armband strap with holder for the TyTn II? Like the ipod ones, to keep it secure while running?
I know it's probably not the best idea for a device like the Kaiser, but just a thought. I can't find them when searching on ebay.
Thanks
check out www.tunebelt.com
kaiser/tilt fits just fine.
Seems perfect, thanks. Looks like the iPod Video one would fit fine, but there might be room for movement. Was thinking that maybe the iPod Mini one would squeeze the kaiser in.
Would you happen to know which is best? My bet is on the iPod Video
In my opinion, it's better to use a small backpack to carry your Kaiser when running. Put some other soft stuff in there and it's safe from impacts and sweat . That way you can also carry your wallet, money, small towel, whatever. It'll not be that heavy as well.

That would be quite uncomfortable to carry around while running, atleast for me. I'm a cross country/track runner and even wearing a watch bothers me sometimes. Armbands are great for running and thats the way to go.
Anyone tried to send an email to tunebelt.com/ asking the best case fot Kaiser dimensions?
Hi,

hi
just got my tunebelt AB82.. seems they sell this "new" version AB82, cos AB8 is no longer available..
anyway, the product itself is okay but since it mainly supposed for iPod the connection openings don't fit exactly the Tytn2 connector output... so u have to do some modding and cut a lil'bit
except that, the product seems great... we'll see how it fits during long runs...

Workout Strap

I go to the gym a lot and see quite a few people with iPods strapped to their arms. Some have their iPhones as well.
I'm wondering if there is an arm strap that would fit the Titan (xv6800) even if it is not entirely designed for it.
I'm planning on using my Motorola Bluetooth headset to rock out while I work out. So access to buttons is not really needed. Just touch screen.
THere is no item that fits or no one exercises?

I just ordered an arm band from ebay. It hasn't come in yet so I can't comment on it but I'll certainly let you know how I like it.
Try this.....you can usually pick some up relatively cheap. Not the most stylish.....but hey, it works for everything!
well I was going to recommend a shoe string but I think the duck tape is the ultimate solution. Way to go McGuyver. I looked around (only foir a short period) and did not see any type or workout strap for that phone. Perhaps a universal or generic case/strap would be better. I'll keep my eyes open.
Another solution is to somehow extend your bluetooth range (that is if you're staying in one general area) and just wear your headset instead so you dont have to carry your phone around.
ipods look fine strapped to arms, but the mogul is too big and heavy. I wouldn't trust any strap to hold this titan down. Even if it doesn't fly off at high velocity, it might get bumped on machinery.
The only true solution would be wolverine-style adamantium bone-grafted mogul holder with mini-usb and audio connectors.
It's only a matter of time people. Don't just hold your phone, click it onto your skeleton!
What?!??? Isn't carrying this brick around work-out enough?!???!???
The armband from ebay came in and it works fine (look for iphone sport and you'll find it) It's definitely a tight fit but there is absolutely no chance of it coming out. $6 shipped.
I also read on PPC geeks that the dimensions of the original Zune are similar. So a sports band for the Zune will probably work too
I use the stock holster, i put it on my back and work out! I have the motorola s9 bluetooth. So far no uissues at all.
I bought one for the Zune and use that...it works pretty well

Targus TRUSS Leather case for ICONIA A500

Hey everyone I just picked this new leather case at my local Best Buy. I saw it online and it was already on back order but checked the local store and they had them. It fits really well and I have been waiting for a good leather case with multiple viewing angles. Just thought I would share.
Any Pictures?

I picked up one myself. I love it, its exactly what I wanted. My only complaint is its a little heavier then I had hoped for.
I just bought the case at my local Best Buy. So far I like it but it's kinda thick though.
I got the last one at my Best Buy. I like, the only thing that bothers me is that the front facing camera gets covered sometimes, but I just insert my stylus on that flap on the top right corner so its right under the power button and it keeps the camera in the clear.
It looks a lot better than the one that Acer made. I wish I could return the one I bought at Staples and get that one.
Isn't it covering up part of the volume down button? From the pics it looks like it is.. Can someone confirm?

Yes sir covering up the most importnant one. Volume - for recovery. But if you push on it still works. Just covers a portion of it. Still accessible love this case so far just bought it last night.
Gonna go look at it today. Looks awfully thick compared to the acer one... other than that, it looks really nice.
Are there cut-outs for the speakers?
Edit: Got it. Love it. I found that I can just press the leather strap at the top for volume down. it does slightly obscure the front camera, but it's not like I ever USE it. No one want's to see me anyway. And if I did use it.. I can just pull that strap behind the tab temporarily.
Case looks good but i am having a feeling it will add alot of bulk to the tablet
I bought one and love it. It does add bulk, but it adds protection. The case could probably protect the tablet from pretty decent drop.

I have some real nice photo's of the strap hangs behind when the case is open. (a little sarcasm there).
When the case is open, and the strap is dangling behind the tablet, it hangs EXACTLY in front of the rear facing camera. Makes it kind of odd to take picures.. have to pull the strap up and hook it over the top corner to keep it out of the way.
meh.. i guess that's not too difficult. The stand function is much more stable than the acer oem case was. I still love this.

Yeah, I returned the Acer one back to Staples a couple days after I bought it. Not only was it cheap feeling and poorly fitting, but it either shed or attracted an insane amount of dust/lint. Every time I opened it my screen was practically frosted.
So now I have this Targus case the OP bought. It's definitely protective and high quality and the built in stand is great, but it's huge. I know it is supposed to resemble a portfolio so I'm not surprised at the size. At the moment, there really isn't anything better from a reliable manufacturer, so I'll probably switch to this from my usual In-Case neoprene slipper case. I'd love a rigid, snap on style case with screen cover like their Magazine case for the iPad. Keeping my fingers crossed
based on all the positive feedback I purchase the truss case today. It is a bit bulky, but I do not mind the heft, because it gives me a good piece of mind knowing the a500 is protected. I wonder how long the elastic on the closing strap will last with it being pulled and turned around all the time. Overall, it seems to be a great case.
When open place the strap over the top. It's out of the way and keeps the tab in his case

Looking for small backpack

So I have a collection of devices, the Nexus 10 being one of them. Due to the nature of my job, I have around 3 cell phones and 2 tablets to carry around. I was wanting to buy a small backpack that can hold all of these for me. I don't want anything too big, just something I can throw over my shoulder. Can anyone suggest a small backpack with lots of slots & dividers for carefully carrying multiple tablets and phones?
Thanks
Would that work for you? Or maybe too small? I didn¡t know if you wanted it to not be so bulky. http://www.amazon.com/SOLO-Collecti...370039095&sr=8-1&keywords=tablet+10"+backpack

This is actually pretty much what I'm looking for! I don't see any pictures of the inside of the main compartment, so I'm not sure if I could store 2+ tablets in it with some sort of cushion between them. You're on the right track, though. Thanks!
Not sure if it these are too large, but these are the two I carry. I generally have 2 MBP's, at least one tablet, and phone.

Its probably not ideal for more than 2 devices and randoms, but my fiance got me a parachutist bag (because I always wear an army-style field jacket ) with 3 main pockets, a small one, and "pen" holders. I later found out they were for holding shells, but who cares? Its great for my devices. Don't have a link here as it came from an army surplus store.
