New HTC Today plugin - "HTC Plus!"

Attached is a cab installer for HTC Plus!
This application adds a nice clock and messages interface to the today menu, as well as adding an application launcher with included high quality icons for the applications.
As found, this application was non-functional. HTCImgCodec.dll has been added (exists in some ROMs already) and registry settings have been changed to disable the Backlight Adjust function. For some reason when this function is enabled the device hangs during boot and a hard reset is required to fix. You have been warned. DO NOT ENABLE BACKLIGHT ADJUST.

UPDATE: I've replaced the file with an updated version. This update changes the installation defaults in a manner that should help anyone who experienced a problem installing the previous version. No changes are made in the plug-in, so if you already have it working don't bother updating.

Very cool today plugin! Too bad it doesn't have weather... So, Ill stick to the HTC Home plug.

Customisation
This plugin is easily customisable. The layout is stored entirely as bmp images under \Windows\HTCPlus. And all the programs chosen can be modified under HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCPlus\Shortcuts.

Nice! Although I still prefer HTC Home.

Looks great, but couldnt get it to work on my Touch. The today plugin does not appear on the screen, nor in the list with available plugins. The Options tab is present though :\

I also originally had the problem where the plugin was not appearing in the list of plugins or on the today screen, but the HTC Plus tab was still displayed in settings. I was able to fix this problem by copying HTCImgCodec.dll into \Windows. I added it to the cab. Perhaps this file is not being copied? Check for its existence and try manually extracting it to \Windows if it doesnt show up.

I installed it on my Artemis with official HTC Asia WM6 rom and for me it works until you switch off the device. Than you can never switch it on again, only by soft reset with stylus!
So I uninstalled the prog quickly...
Otherwise it would be nice to have it on Today screen, so if someone could construct a bug-free cab from the extracted files I would really welcome it!

i love the simplicity of this plugin, hopefully someone will develop this or perhaps point me in the direction on how to customize this plugin.

htc hermes apps; help

ive upgraded my device to wm6, I was wondering how do i get the big time clock, and shortcut keys for programs on the today screen? Ive seen it everywhere, but my one still looks plain.

There is none, and there wont be one.

However there is a good Phone Alarm theme called Touch which offers a similaer look and function. Doesn't do the cube bit though.

I have downloaded various HTC home screen plugins ( the large plugin with the time displayed ), but not found the one i want.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a COLOUR 6 button HTC home plugin suitable for polaris please..?

Just take the out of the box Home of your polaris and owerwrite the
icon files in windows folder with one of the icon packages around.
So you can exactly decide which icon to use for each single item.
Just be sure to quit and restart the Today Home after overwriting
the files with something like Resco Explorer.

My ELF is Different

I have HTC ELF but my Touch Flo home screen is completely different than that of posted in several websites,
What I saw is like this in several websites.

But in my ELF i am having those Weather,Music, Albums, Contacts button at bottom of the or about the bar at down.... I also dont get those 3d Cube rotations..... help me

Your elf is totally normal from what i saw in that screenshot.
This is because thats the "HTC Home" homescreen.
To get it to look like others, you need to download the appropriate program.
Heres a link to the Touchflo 2D page:

To get the cube rotations, swipe up the screen, from the bottom to the top.
Then the cube should appear. To go from left to right, just swipe that way.

I think he has TF2D already by the sounds of it. My understanding is that he wants the normal HTC Home plugin such as the one he has seen on several websites like the picture he posted. I may have misunderstood as well, but this is what I think he was asking for.

Am I understanding what you are asking for. You want the regular HTC Home plugin? and the Cube. IF I am right then you have an elf or elfin with Touch flo 2d already installed. TF2D is a home plugin. You will need to go into your home settings and deactivate TF2D plugin and Activate HTC Home plugin. If you do not have HTC Home plugin option then you need to do a search for it (there are many versions available some with more tabs) and install it and then select it as your plugin of choice. To get the cube. If I am correct and you have an elf with Stock TF2D then you do not have the HTC Cube - You will have to do some searching for custom cube and try to install it. I have read about others wanting to do the same; however, am not sure if they have been successful yet in installing a functional cube.
If I have misunderstood you, then follow the advice above. I believe there are cab versions of it and ROM's with TF2D as well you can flash. Hope this helps.
