CRASHED!

hey people....
i was just upgradeing the radio stack to v.4.21 beacuse mine was v.4.20 and as i was installing it on the xda, it said "Upgrade failes" and crashed. I then tried a soft and hard reset and it just crashes again.
Can some one PLEASE help me...

Apart from a sof and hard reset, what else have you tried to resolve the problem?

i dont know how.....i have had the XDA for 1 day
any advice i would be VERY greatfull....

well looks like you may well have a dead one day old xda on your hands there jay

What is being displayed on the screen?
Are you able to use your XDA at all?
Will it still connect to your PC via ActiveSync?

the answer to all those questions is no....
no activesync
no using the xda
the only thing that is being displayed is the startup o2 sign and in the left hand bottom corner it says
g
r
s 31.85834 (or some number)
and then it goes to a blank white page.....
it keeps swapping back and forth from these two pages

Are you able to get into the bootloader?
press and hold to on/off button while soft-resetting.
Do you have a SD card reader?
Also, where did you get the xda from, just incase!?!

im gonna try the bootloader thing....but what do i do if it works (im waiting for it to charge up abit before i do that) although i dont think it is charging
i dont have a sd card yet....
o2 online....i have insurance, i think (hope) they will change it....but im going away tommorow for 4 weeks....and im stuck without a phone...so i wanted to know if there was a way that i could reinstall it again...

Right, well it's a start, unfortunatly without an SD card reader there is nothing that I know that will fix this problem, as you cannot use Activesync without the os loading.
I've had a quick look around the forums but all related articles on fixes suggest the need for a card reader.
When you did the upgrade, did you remember to remove the power supply first?.
It seems that leaving the power supply attached while upgrading the radio causes an internal configuration error.
If no one else here can help with your problem, you will have to send it back to O2, they will replace it for new, however, if they do kick up a fuss, remind them of the Sale of Goods Act (Amendment) 2003.
Sorry, that's about as much as I can do mate. Good luck, and don't be but off the xda by this problem, I got mine of ebay and broke the screen within a week, had to fork out another £130 for a new screen, but I'm very glad I did.

Great now press the Calender button, that should put you in the GSM
bootloader mode. From there run some of the options ect.., try changing your band to 900 and see if that helps also try turning the radio off as that might let your XDA bootup.

MS5000 need help, will pay for it.

Hello i'm a complete newbi noob etc.
I own a Orange MS5000 with software D 1.30.90 WWE (I guess its software?)
I tried the HTC_Hermes_SIM_Unlock_v2 unlocker, which in highsite was a bad idea as it wasn't made for my version. that crashed the phone so I used UNI_ExitBootloader to try and sort out the phone.
The phone now is in flight mode all the time and when it boots up it says "NO GSM" .
I can not even use orange sims in it.
The funny thing is now orange have sent me the unlock code I can't even use it as the phone dosn't even search for a sim. I have spent about 4 hours going through this forum and in all honestly i'm now just very confussed.
I'm happy to pay anyone via paypal or donate to this site who can help me.
Please either post here or pm me for any help at all.
Again sorry for the such stupid newbie post I just feel right out my depth.

From what it sounds like it doesn't seem that hard, sounds like you need to put a new radio rom on it which should fix it in a matter of a couple of hours. Pm me if you want me to help you out on this, as i don't mind.

i think you might have bricked your radio rom.
take a look at this thread (post #6 and after, notice they are talking about a NOGSM message on a universal with a bricked radio) -

you MAY find your answer there, if you haven't completely bricked your radio.
try to flash to a new radio using the bootloader (use the wiki for flashing instructions), and if that doesn't help, try to do whats suggested in the above link..

Basically you flashed the radio from another device, which is not good. there is a tiny possibility of it being fixed, contact me on MSN and ill talk you through it 'csutcliff AT gmail.com'

My X7501 is dead

I tried unlocker and now my device is dead.
I have a x7500 that is broken so i bought a x7501 and downloaded unlocker and tried it and dead.
i charged the battery with other phone to make sure it isn't battery.
when i put the battery in it wont turn on.
when i plug it in with the battery inside no lights come on when i hit re reset button the red light blinks. when i take the battery off and replug the red light is on but it wont work.
what do i do now.
please help me...

Please describe exactly what you did, any error messages, and anything that you saw on the 7501 screen. It will help us diagnose the problem.

It asked me to debug something or ignore it and i hit continue to ignore and then the device turned off and died.

Which version of the unlocker did you use?

Im Shipping it out to HTC RMA. let see if they can replace it.

I have the same situation here. Same thing with the red-light single blink when I try to reset or bootloader reset or hard reset.
I am interested to hear what HTC says, if they void warranty with a flashed ROM or anything like that. I paid full price for the unlocked phone, so I hope they will support it.

looks like my bootloader is corrupted by Olipro unlocker i do not know wot to do now. im feeling sick customer is waiting to get his phone unlocked and upgraded to wm6.

OK. the good news is that they said it was the mother board and they replaced the mother board. FREEEEEEEE.

You have bricked your Advantage. Service needed. I did the same 2 months ago (mainboard replaced as well - FOC). Olipro released new version of unlocker. Second time was OK.

I used the Version 2.0 and vista.
It could have been vista... I dont know. i will get the device back 2maro and give it another shot with xp.
hey do you have the newer version and could you upload it or is it the same in unlocket thread.

oh so you used the right version. did it say version 2.0 on it? can you tell us what did you use with vista, activesync or device center?
also, when did it throw the message about to debug the program? the athena died after you reset it?

same problems, HTC replaced, no questions asked
I bricked my 7501 a month and a half ago. I sent an RMA request and explained i purchased the unlocked version, and then I sent in my old phone and they sent me a new one, no questions asked.
I think I used OliPro's unlocker previously, and to make matters worse, on vista. I think I'll stick to XP now, and use hardSPL.

MyTouch 1.2 Possible Brick (Anyone building a house?)

Hey all. I have a MyTouch 3g 1.2 that was in the middle of a radio update when I dropped it and the battery fell out. I have searched this wonderful site and have came up empty. When I press the power button absolutely nothing happens. I can not get into recovery I can not adb or fastboot. Anyone have any ideas that can help me out?

Its bricked. Need to get replaced.

HMMM, take it to your local constuction site and see if they can use it... sorry bro. maybe you can tell your carrair that your computer failed or something on a update from htc's website, dont make it seem like your at fault. Usually you can work your magic and get another magic (no pun intended hahaha)

If it fell like a brick, then it must be a brick.

Bricked or what?

Hi again guys. I dont know if i ralle can use the term bricked or not, but i guess so. After a funny day with a couple reboot and new "radio" image my Legend want start anymore. The screen is just black, even if i hold down vol down/up and power. So the big question.... Is this phone bricked? If so, can i fix it?
EDIT: The LED does not even respond when charger is plugged in.

Are you S-OFF? I've never known a S-ON Legend be completely bricked like that!

No i'm still S-ON because of the d*** HBOOT 1.01
Only thing i've done so far is root+CM7. And yesterday when i played around with ROM Manager i had to remove the battery upon a crash.

I think you are in trouble...
RomManager is maybe the source of your problems, what did you do with ?
Did you have errors during the radio installation process ? and which radio were you flashing ?

Here the story. I rooted my phone and switch to CM7 and notice that my GPS did not work with stock radio verision (dont remember wich) I upgraded to 7.08.35.21 and the GPS finally workt again with some minor interrups. Did some reading and decided to upgrade again to 7.13.35.05.
The installation went well untill the end. A picture was shown, a mailbox lookalike with an arrow pointing at a foolish looking droid dude. The only thing i could do was to remove the battery, after that the phone was dead.

Is it still under warranty? (Obviously not as you're rooted, but would it be if you weren't rooted?) If so, try sending it to HTC they might just replace it if they can't see for themselves that you're rooted!

If you says its a firmware update that caused the phone to not turn on they just JTAG it without checking,reflash the latest update (and sadly HBOOT) and send it back

ok but they could ask what update and stuff possibly just thinking i might ring them soon whats the worse thing that could happen if they work it out? Just out of question?

They will send it back unfixed and say the warranty is void. Even if they know its rooted they might still fix it for you, it depends.

It's my fault that the phone is broken and i'm willing to take that blame A clean conscience makes me sleep better at night
I dont know how it is in the rest of the world, but in my country there is a high fee if they notice that the owner has done something with the firmware etc. Thanks anyway for all the respons and help, and remember guys, stay away from Rom manager

You only have to say that it said update available then when it restarted it did this.. If they say anythign after its been sent then just plead ignorance.Its not like they cant afford to repair one phone

well i'm going to say something like that. Generally because my phone was buggered before then (signal problems and locking into airplane mode) though i'm rooted i still wouldn;t think i'd get away with it
does it matter if the root is S-ON i'm just thinking off my chances
