Idea for iphone stsyle of iPhoto - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

We can scroll through your photo list by sliding your finger along the picture by full screen. If anyone can make it. It's so great.
I see "icontact" & iMedia Player" is the great job of PPC. We have enough experience to do it. I think the "iPhoto" is not the problem.
Hope it will some soon.

It may so hard for PPC because PPC can't make 2 fingers actions at the same time

get Picsel browser and select your jpg's to open with this program, its pretty close to the iphone interface.

no need for 2 finger actions. you'll do them separate... bottom up change pic, sideways zoom in...
it's being used on the touch flow cube...
as for picsel browser.... looks very nice... ill try it and report!

I have tried Picsel. But it is not so good, because the performace is not so good in showing pictures.

Hey Guys, Byka is working on a PictureViewer.

I use this one on my touch

Not sure if it will works with other PPC's but I really like it.

I started writing something exactly like you're describing, but I haven't finished it. I've been busy trying to finish up this job and find a new job and haven't had as much free time for programming. I'll do a little more work on it when I get a chance and see what you guys think.

picsel is ultra slow at loading...
bika's still in dev... though it looks awesome!
pictureviewer 1.6 didn't work for me... I'm guessing there's a problem in the cfnet version?

I just tested in WM5. It works. But I don't like the design.
Byka's PictureViewer is good design. I have some idea.
1) In photo list mode, we can scroll (left or right) pictures in the list one by one.
2) Double click the photo to enlarge the photo to full screen.
3) In full screen mode, have a zoom & move function.
4) double click the screen to back to photo list mode.
Base on our current technology, it should not be hard to do. I am shameful that I don't know the programming so much.
SIMPLE IS THE BEST

simple, yet works, but still early in development. it does most of what you ask, except to zoom, you tap the screen.

TouchNav - Scroll With Your Fingers!!! (Alpha 2)

Hi All,
Ever had troubles trying to scroll a window with your finger by tapping the scrollbar? Well this enhancement will solve this issue. Now you can scroll with your fingers, ANYWHERE on the screen.
Give it a try and let me know what you think.
Changes from Alpha:
-PIE scrollable now!
-Bug fixes
-Performance enhancments, somewhat.
Requirements:
-Compact Framework v2 (SP1)
If you like it, show me the money.
*** Part of the funds donated will go to a non-profit that I work with. ***
It doesn't work with atom life.. ..
Error : Cant find PInvoke DLL 'TouchNavImpl'
work fine with x01ht...but the scroll speed to slow with me...
Does it work with like flick-scroll capabilities? And also has the inverted y-axis direction been corrected?
Work well with PIE and Hermes. But unable to scroll with other touch program ie PocketCM, etc. Be nice if this app included exlusion list option for these touch programs. Many thanks again
problems with other apps....pocketcm and icontacts...
this is a very goood program...although i like the pocketcm interface of scrolling with my contacts..i though that pocketcm was just acting up so i tried i contacts and same thing...so now... disable it from the home/today screen and voila pocketcm works again... can i get this to co-exist with pocketcm and/or icontacts? i really love the way programs and PIE work like a charm with this..any help appreciated..
I tried it with a qtek9000 (wm6) and it worked, but it repeats twice the tap action, and the scrolling action isn't that easy.
But it is a very promising application.
Thank you!
the good-
1. Now scrolls in the correct direction so that is good.
the bad-
1. Shortcuts and web links are getting activated when lifting finger of the screen.
2. 'Tap and Hold' context menu is disabled in all applications (i.e. PIE, Newsbreak ect..)
3. The scroll is too fast compared with finger movement.
wish list-
1. I use and like the builtin screen drag in PIEPlus. So therefore would be nice to exclude cerstain applications (I think others have asked for this ability also).
Anyways, I appreciate your efforts to make PPC more finger friendly and this is a good start.
Does anyone knows why it wudn't work on atom life and what "Error : Cant find PInvoke DLL 'TouchNavImpl'" means? I would love to try this app out...
WM2003SE compatibility! Please?
my thoughts
i have to be honest, i didn't expect this to actually work. but right after i installed and SR'ed, it worked like a charm! i'm impressed. however, some issues.
one thing that others have noticed is that it seems to have disabled any form of scrolling that is not related to scroll bars. for example, both my PocketCM and my Slide2Unlock were nonfunctional once this alpha was running.
2nd: again, as noted by kismat1970, it completely disables any form of tap and hold, which renders a vast majority of PPC applications useless.
along with fixes to those problems, i would also like to see an exclusion list, and perhaps a way to temporarily disable it? like when you tap on the small icon on the today screen, there is only an option to exit. i would like if there was sort of a toggle (as a side effect, a toggle would be a temporary workaround for the two problems i listed; however, not a permanent fix, for sure)
Good work on the alpha, overall. I'll keep my eye on this to see how it develops.
totally useless
I've beeing looking for something like this on this forum and here it is. I know it's still apha, but it's a start. I hope eventual you change change to native language. CF is good and all, but it's just too slow. I'm interested in the progress of this one.

This is one of these totally useless feedbacks. Remember that this is an alpha release. I you don't have anything constructive to say, please don't say anything.
BTW! I think the idea for this program is great and very welcome, and with some more development be quite useful. Keep up the good work.

Agreed. Say (helpfully) what works and what could be better otherwise butt out.
Agree with al the issues raised so far (hey, but that's why it's an alpha right)
An option to hide the trayicon would be cool as well.
Thanks so far. One to watch.
thank and great job.. especially for big fat thumb ppl like me!!
just 2 suggestions
1. instead of enabling scrolling the whole screen mayb can let scrolling only at the right side (thumb size width) and not the whole screen which the tap and hold menu can still works on the other side? hope it does not sound too stupid haha..mayb can include option to change the area and size or side of the screen which the scrolling is enable
2. application exclusion option will be very very helpful too!!
Thank for your efforts and sharing!!
Cheer!!

HTC Album OEM version

An OEM version of the new HTC album (extracted from the Touch dual) has been published on the thread below (post #3).
By the sounds of it they haven't got it working, but there is certainly some interest.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=339587
that's good, but it doesn't work.
Yeah, it didn't work for me, either, on my TyTN II. But I'd love to have it. It's the only thing I feel is missing from my device (the built-in one is kludgey to use).
They have got it to work, but only in a cooked rom. I hope someone can build this into a cab!!!
what is this for? any screenshots?
I saw a .cab for this one around some forums working for the wizard. does it work for the prophet? is it the same you have gollum?
Working fine for me on my Touch.

doesnt work on my (beloved) wizard
it cant start up, i just click on the exe file after the instalation then there is the waiting cursor for like 3 seconds and after that...well nothing
Both versions work on my TyTN II... kinda.
The flick-advance and finger-rotate work most of the time, but the program refuses to do the circle-zoom, putting up a little "No zoom!" icon (for a picture that's not zoomed in to 100%).
Sometimes the program gets stuck in a mode where trying to move the picture just makes it bounce off the edges of the screen. And a little box, much like the zoom rectangle in the native Pictures & Videos application, only empty, appears in the corner. At this point, it's difficult to know what to do with the program, since it's taken over the screen.
So it's neat, but as something I'd start in order to show people my pictures, I give it a miss. There's nothing worse than showing people your flash gear only to end up fighting with it and apologising instead.
Seems to work fine. But when I enter the settings dialog, I can't seem to do anything there. But who cares? I don't need any settings. Circle zooming and rotating works for me. Nice piece of software.

Everything you have described above is 100% intended behavior for this app.
Circle Zoom: Try going in the opposite direction you tried. Amazing. (Clockwise : zoom in. Counter-Clockwise: zoom out.)
Little Box Top Left: This mode is entered by hold your finger down in the app for around 1 second. At this point you can pan the picture by dragging. You have to stop touching the screen until the little white box goes away to get back to the mode where you can flick-scroll. This mode is really only useful when you're zoomed in; the little white box gives you a reference to which part of the picture you are currently zoomed in to.
This app works great.
Right, and half circle left rotates it one way and half circle right rotates it the other, works great on my mogul, HTC Album for the win!

Look for files that have 04 in the name on your mobile device. Read the other 2 digit 04xx. Copy HTCAlbum.exe.0409.mui in \Windows dir on the mobile device into a new files called HTCAlbum.exe.04xx.mui. Now u can see menu in english.
Thanks to Itje 4 explanation of country code in MUI.
Work like a charm with just one minor bug on my Kaiser; when the keyboard is slid out the picture is up-side-down. But that's like that with many apps that were ported from other roms. Hell, even for some of the applications with the stock rom.
Still I like it, make my TyTN II a litte better again.

It's an application, not today screen It's dependent on flash and mortscript.
The keypress that is locked to the program while it's active is "keypress: <enter>", which is, as I found out a click on the middlebutton. So there will probably be no problem with dpad.
It's real, and to me it seems stable. Still a few glitches here and there, but "all" I really have to do now is make it prettier and add more functions
Thanks for all comments so far!!

Looks nice, I especially like the custom "loading" picture, will definitely add a nice touch! I don't know if it's possible with flash, or mortscript, but I know there's a way to capture a specific button OS wide in C/C++. It would be really nice (for me at least) if this could be implemented so that the <enter> key would close any current application, and flip back to iTask.
I'm thinking, I could map the <enter> button to ok/close in windows mobile itself, but would the flash settings override this? Or would it close iTask too?
Nice work though!
Waiting on the new release.

Thanks Radical. But I have tried this, it doesn't give the option that we get in this viewer.. It's Photo contacts is very good and it's like Diamond one, but not the photo viewer. I am really looking for the one in the video.. It's really awesome, you can use the finger scrolling from the main screen to swipe thru the photos.
It is most likely that your device won't support it anyway... TouchFlo 3D is very graphics intensive...

Actually i did a test like that for pictures first, but it isnt very usable.
I think that feature in Daimond is just to show, not really to use regularly. I prefer the Camera album to view pictures because you can see all the photos in a list and then choose from one.
It can easily be done in flash but the finger motion effects have a problem with the current 'players', if you press the screen and dont release it for a second only, it pops up the "about flash" window.
Still, if you use simple buttons instead of finger motions, like I did for my flash contact list, all you need is a ouside program to list all the images in \storage card\my documents\my pictures (or whererver) to a xml or txt file, then the flash would read all the picture names as variables and present them in that kind of slideshow (or even better animations, like 3d cubes turning or fade-ins) . Do remenber that the 'photo turn 3d effect' would slow things down.
So, depending on the speed of the pocket pc model it would be slow, it isnt very slow on my dual because it has 400 mhz, but there are a lot of models out there with 200mhz...
Also, for some reason, the flash lite engine works faster but has more bugs reading images than the flash 7 engine. :/
And then it comes back to the today plugin, the only good current one is from the Throttle author but it only has one hardcoded size, he is doing a better one, and THAT one I cant wait for... it sounds as good as melted cheese!
That's exactly what I am looking at.

Thats not dependant of me, just of the trotthle author, sorry, like I said I gave that to him.
But after he releases his new plugin, I'll be sure to make a lot of flash goodies for everyone, always releasing the sourcode, because, as I said, I'm a iilustrator, not a programmer, and Im sure others can do so much more.
thanks Twolf

Thanks Twolf.. I tried this before and I am trying the Tempus V13 now..It works perfect, but the till still skips by 1 sec every 2 secs and becomes very slow during skip.. And also takes lots of memory around 3-4 MB on my HTC Touch... Which is a lot for my phone.. . is there is a work going to reduce this... I can't wait !!! for Throttle author to release new version.. ..Tempting
Actually the skipping is good, it does skip sometimes but thats my way of making sure the time is always correct. Otherwise the minutes could change before the seconds reached 59.
The slowness is really because of the 200mhz of the touch, sorry...
As for memory, thats flash...
Maybe in the next version of throttle since the weather and clock are separated and in flash lite, they may become faster, time and tests will tell.
Thank you Twolf
Thanks Twolf.. This is a great application and I am currently trying Throttle launcher works great on my Touch.. Thanks for all you guys work.. Fantastic... Hope to see more from you.. thank you..
