hello,
I'm in Belgium I just order a QTEK S100 (Magician) I guess my retractable USB cable from my old QTEK2020 (XDA II ) won't work
I see on images that there is a mini USB connection on the botom
What can I use to recharge my S100 in my car ?
A retractable USB cable would be nice, but where to buy it ?
any idea ? Is someone as any clue on how to recharge a S100 ?
Thank you
PS: I do have a car holder with a USB port, maybe that can help, on finding a simple cable (mini USB in one side and regular USB in the other side, and Sync and Charge)
Aftermarket USB Charging Kit
Well, there is good news and bad news about aftermarket charger cables for the Magician series-
I purchased a "minisync mobile charging kit" from Boxwave for my MDA Compact. It consists of a retractable cable with normal USB on one end and MiniUSB on the other, plus a wall adapter, car plug, or battery adapter, each of which have a USB socket in them ($50 US).
The good news is that the retractable cable works fine when pluged into a "real" USB port on a computer;
The BAD news is that when the retractable cable is plugged into the Boxwave wall adapter, car plug, or battery adapter - NO CHARGING!!
I checked the voltage on pins 1 and 4 of the 3 power adapters, and there is indeed 6+Volts present. I tried using the cable that came with my MDA Compact along with the 3 new adapters - still no charging.
Since the cables are known good, I suspect that I am experiencing problems similar to those discussed in the XDAI&II forums here, where additional connections must be made to prompt the MDA to accept charging. But the Mini USB cable end is so different (only 5 pins and unserviceable), I don't see a way to incorporate the "fix" reported in the XDA forums.
I've sent an Email to Boxwave with this information, in hopes that they have sorted this out. Am awaiting reply.
Anyone else encountered this (or found a fix)?
Eric
before the Magician I have a XDA II, and a car support with an USB port
and a retractable USB cable, same things happend.
When the battery charge was lower than 50% no way to charge.
I have to go and buy a regular 12V charging cable, special for XDA II

Great
GREAT
thanks I just send them an Email to make sure it's the right cable (picture show a regular XDA II USB retratable Cable, maybe just the wrong picture)
I keep you guys posted on that matter
I ordered the minisync and versa charger from boxwave and they both work with Qtek S100.
The Minisync is a little irritating though....it seems to retract when I do not want it to. I am not sure if this is normal for a minisync or if I just got a failty one ???
retractable cables
I remember my first retractable USB was working fine.
Retraction OK, but it broke (after 6 months)
I order a new one (allways for my XDA II ) and this one look more well build, but from time to time it retract also like yours.
Now I'm looking for a new one for my MAGICIAN.
But I get an update on this matter : the guy i'm going to buy the MAGICIAN from, already have a car chargeur (wich is great news)
So I ask him where did he buy it from ? and he told me that the car chargeur is the same as SPV C500

Maybe that can help
It seems you can use Motorola MPX200 car charger for the Qtek S100 / MDA Compact... I haven't still test the solution because I ordered one yesterday evening :

I use an ordinary usb to mini usb sync cable alongwith my Car lighter to usb adapter and it works. I have been able to charge it even when battery was 15%. Bought the USB cable locally for around $5USD and the car adapter was from my old XDAII car charger.

Hi all,
I am having issues connecting my OnePlus 2 to my windows 7 using the original oneplus type c usb cable. Whenever connected the phone is charging only. No option to select any mode what so ever.
I thought it may be drivers or OS issue, so then I tried connecting with my MacBook Pro but it's still the same.
USB debugging is ON. Even installed android SDK, platform tools, Android File Manager on Mac but nothing changes, it's Charging and shows no devices in Android File Manager as well as Terminal adb
Settings > storage > USB connection option says to make USB connection to PC even though it's connected
Facing same issue..I'm also finding solution
Me paso lo mismo. Lo he solucionado con un adaptador micro USB a Tipo C y un cable normal.
El problema es el cable del OPT

This tricked worked for me, and I posted the update on this thread on OnePlus Forums.
I hope this helps.

it started the same for me. after some days of no solution it would then also not charge anymore... for me it was the cable that was defect. bought a new one and the behavior was back to normal immediately! in case you have another usb-c cable, give it a try!
just disconnect the phone, reboot and reconnect, it will give the USB options
had same problem, after trying everything recommended and nothing working...easy fix
swipe from top to access Notifications
click on where it says USB for Charging and then choose File transfers
not sure how this happened but it seems to default at USB for Charging when I connect to PC
This worked for me:
Go into the "About phone" setting and press "Version" until you become a developer. Then go into "Developer options" and enable "USB Debugging." I should work now.
Good luck!
In my case after scouring the internet and discovering the many people who'd tried several cables and still can't get any PC to recognise their OnePlus, I suddenly had an inspiration: Could it be fluff and other debris in the socket? So I powered down my phone (VERY IMPORTANT! SWITCH IT OFF FIRST), got a pin and very carefully scraped the inside of the USB-C socket on the phone. I scraped very carefully either side of the tiny contacts tongue in the centre of the socket and an enormous amount of pocket fluff popped out. After several scrapes and after blowing it all away, I plugged a cable into the phone.
For the first time in years, the cable "clicked" in properly (and did not fall out!) and the PC immediately responded recognising the phone! After that it was simply a matter of clicking on the "USB for Charging" notification and selecting "USB for File Transfer" and all the folders appeared. What a relief!
Hi guys the LYB it's so thin that i found some problems when it come to periperals, every one i buyed so far ( 3 OTG cables ) are way bigger than the Ultrabook itself and this put strain on the internal port when i place it on the table and use the Halo Keyboard.
Can someone link me to some OTG cable, HDMI ( guess it's M-HDMI ) to VGA adapters, and an ultrathin mouse ( i have the Lenovo N700 but it's way too big and i never use the extra features ) wich won't cause the issue above?
Can't help you with the HDMI, but I do use the USB port a lot. I'm not sure what problem you're having; most OTG cables are simply micro-USB, identical to that on the power supply. I use a hub adapter like this one without any problems;

@tjupille usando un'adattatore come quello che hai indicato il LYB riesce a gestire più periferiche insieme? Per esempio se colleco un mouse, un hdd esterno e il cavo di ricarica, funziona tutto assieme?

Sure, it's a hub so you can use all peripherals at the same time...

I know exactly what you mean: the plastic head/end uses to be much thicker, so the YB is like floating on that side and could break the head or even the plug ...
I tried different ones, but only this HDMI adapter worked for me (see the plastic heads are like squeezed? Exactly the millimeters others are too thick). Yes it's way more expensive than others

And this micro USB OTG Hub, although I had to rasp the head like 1mm as it was just a tick to thick. By the way, this one was the only one which allowed me simultaneous charging.

I'm going to get one of those, because the one I referenced does not do simultaneous OTG + charge (there's a switch to choose one or the other).

Maybe to clarify before you buy it: I have the Windows Version. As we know the Android Version has some weird restrictions or behaviors the Windows one doesn't. On the other hand I don't see why an OS should suppress simultaneous OTG charging. But just to have it mentioned.
