wi-fi speed - P3600 General

Is it rue that the wi-fi speed available on the PDA depends from the CPU speed?

Internet fast on PDA, slow on computer

Hi,
I have att 8525 and when I connect it to the computer and do internet sharing my max speed is about 260kbps. If I browse internet on PDA the speed is about 700 kbps. What could be the reason for slower internet on PC? I use both USB cable and Bluetooth PAN with the same results...
How do you measure the speed?
Try WiFi sharing - Bluetooth and/or cable can be limiting you.

Will I notice a difference in switching to a wireless n router?

Hey I'm using the Linksys WRTU54G-TM with Comcast. I get ~16mbps on speedtests if connected via wired. If I buy a new router(wireless n) then am I going to notice a decent speed increase?
Btw I do not use T-Mobile for home phone anymore.. just still use the router
Gimme a couple a days to come up with a new sig that is cool.
Not to your router's internet speed.
Assuming you've got wireless G devices in the house, then those devices will have a faster connection to the router.
Wired connection to the router is likely to be 100Mbps, so more than your internet connection of 16Mbps, so something connected directly to the router is going to have a 16Mbps internet connection.
Wireless connection is much slower, depending on how far you are from the router, you may only have a 6Mbps connection to the router, therefore you can only use 6Mbps of the 16Mbps internet connection.
Think of each connection as being a pipe, 1inch diameter for every Mbps, so you have a 16inch pipe coming into your router.
Any pipes going from your router to your devices that are bigger than 16inches will let you access the whole 16inches, whereas any pipes that are smaller than 16inches will only let you access up to their own diameter.
You will only notice a difference transferring files on your own network. 802.11G is rated for 54 Mbps which is faster then the 16Mbps going to your house. I believe 802.11N is rated for a little over 100Mbps.

wired vs wireless
hey i can tell you difference b/w wired n wireless connection simply...
wired===> more perfomance,less convinience
wireless===>less performance,more convinience
n has more bandwidth and extended range so you MAY see an improvement.
The speed test you're talking about is on wired. Getting a wireless N router won't necessarily do anything for wired connections.
If you have a very fast connection, like something in the ~30-40mbps range, then Wireless G might not cut it. Even though it is rated at 54mbps this is basically never possible in real world scenarios. You need wireless N to reliably push 30-40mbps or higher.

[Q] Defy+ 802.11n link speed?

I connect Defy+ (MB526) to my 802.11n AP (TP-LINK WR1043ND)
But the connection speed only 54mbps ( >1 FT=30cm)
My laptop connection speed is ~300mbps
Why Motorola Defy Wifi speed is so slow?
I found the tests:

Despite the poor results on the test I'd like to try to achieve higher speed WiFi connection? How to achieve that?
Ummm, even though your router has the "n" wifi protocol, your defy hasn't ... i think the maximum protocol for defy is "g", with a top speed of 54Mb ... so your tests are ok...
no, it isn't:

[Q] question about wifi connection speed

hello guys,
i recently bought a new router tp link (td-w8960n) that supports 300 Mbps connection rate. as far as i know nexus 4 supports Wi-Fi 802.11 n dual-band, that supposed to be 300mbps.
when i connect to the network (with and without wifi optimizations) the connection rate is 72mbps reported by the device.i have full signal (about -50 to -60 dBm) and the router about 1 meter from the phone without anything in between. the network is broadcasting in 2.4 GHz and channel 13 without any interference from other networks on the same channel.
my question is why can't i connect to a higher rate? at least i should be connected at 150 Mbps. this is very strange to me.

[Q] Wireless storage speeds

So how come i got such a slow file transfer over wireless storage speeds? I can download files from internet at 12mb/s speed over wireless, so my router is capable of high speed wireless transfers, but when i try to transfer something over wireless storage i get around 1-1.5mb/s speed
