The memory leak issue with WM6 just bothers me. I want to try other ROMs with WM5 but I can't tell if there are any in the wiki.
Also, if I load one of the original OEM ROMS, do I have to run USPL again? Also, will I have to load an extended ROM as well?

I have been looking for a cooked rom for the herald or tmobile wing but all I can find is the pdaviet one it's better then the ship rom but still has a few bugs, the ideal thing is to cook my own rom but I dont have the time or the patience I just like to flash the damn thing. does anyone know of a good cooked rom out there other then the pdaviet?
You need to remember that rom take time. Give it a little while and plenty more will be out.
Hi! im new to this and I havn't tried to upgrade any ROM for my atom except for the ROM in the o2 website which is the 20060426B1WWE. I have read in the forums that there are a lot of ROM's available for upgrade and as far as I got it right, the AKU 3.3.3 is the final ROM and is stable for the WM5 platform? (kindly correct me if im wrong.) I want to know what is the difference between the AKU 3.3.3 and 20060426B1WWE ROM. Hows is the upgrade process? is it the same? I just download the ROM, run the .EXE file and wait till the upgrade is finished? Would love to know your inputs. tnx!
ROM for Atom is like OS for PCs. ROM comes in different features, different patches and different applications. The latest ROM from O2 is like a standard upgrade only. And it has been a long time since O2 released an upgrade to their ROM. Here in the forums, there is a lot of versions of ROM that you can use. But it is advisable to back up all your files first, including contacts, messages, notes, tasks, calendar notes / reminders and the likes 'coz once you upgrade your ROM all informations will be wiped out. The latest ROM that is available here is Sir Jiggs' WM6 AKU0.7.0 WWE. I myself use that ROM also and I'm very satisfied with it. (Thanks Sir Jiggs for the wonderful ROM! ). Though its an evaluation version, it works perfect on my Atom. If in any case, you didn't like the ROM after you upgraded it, you don't need to worry also because you can still go back to your previous ROM. Try reading other threads also to get an idea regarding the different ROMs. Gud luck!

i dont think that it has the hardware specs to run 6.5
It doesn't have enough ram to hold the rom. You cannot even use WM5 on the Wallaby. If you try to install it, you will likely brick it.
I realise that this is a bit of "sort it out yourself" question but i was hoping for a few recomendations for which rom to flash to my uk vodafone HD2.
I am currently running stock 1.48 with the latest radio. I am after a stock feel ROM but dont want to have to hspl my device again after the flash. I have also read lots about 576 rom but not really seen anything convincing that proves its definatly in. Is it true or is it the same as the 1ghz hack?
I have read you can use SPB backup to backup all your applications etc off your SD card and restore them post flash, is this true?
Finally is there really any differences with the later versions of WM6.5.X than just the stock version supplied in my 1.48rom?

Why don't you upgrade to 1.66 as it's out for unlocked devices...
im going to, didnt want to have to reinstall but cant get mms working under 1.48 so might as well flash. Just wondering which version of 1.66 to go to. Stock or custom? Dont really want to put hspl back on so thinking custom could be the way forward
Can anyone help me. I got an htc Elf not long ago and I've flashed it from wm6 to wm6.1 to wm6.5 and back to wm6.1 and now want it back to its original state. is there a rom outthere that's got the basic apps n stuff. can someone post a link n pics. I want a uk rom im on o2 let me know asap

Yes that's possible and you can Flash your device with original ROM If you have a custom ROM installed.
I did it several times, try it, there should be no issue.
it recently failed to Flash Origional ROM on my device but device still works and there is no issue with my current ROM.
I didn't got much time to figure it out though but i suspect its either because of HSPL 3.14 or connectivity issue with Synch on Windows 7, i will try to downgrade HSPL to 3.10 and try to Flash Origional ROM again.
Indeed it's Hspl that prevents overwriting spl from shipped roms (custom roms don't have spl). If you want to flash a shipped rom you need to remove Hspl and use Uspl.
