Reinstalling Stock OZ IM program without Hard Resetting 4 the wing? - Wing, P4350 General

Is there a way to reinstall the OZ IM client without having to hard reset? I know IM+ 4.43 is better and it doesn't cost per message however I'm looking for an easier way of setting up IM without having to do all that port stuff for a friend - OZ is a sure fire way for them to IM people even if it does cost more. I'd appreciate it if someone knows how to do this.
For a black jack - a person has to look for the "Get_IM" file in the windows folder to be able to download OZ but the wing doesn't have that.
Duc

Go over to the thread about registry tweaks and unlock and unhide the ROM. Once you do this, one of the files in there is the OZ cab. Run it and it will install OZ back to your phone. That is how I got it back after upgrading to the Touch_it flash.

uhh a link to that post would be nice, I can't find it anywhere

Could someone just post the CAB if they were able to get it out of the ROM?

touchflo on Wing question

Question is this. I changed my theme to a standard blue theme from the today settings but i cant get it back to the standard black theme that was in effect when i installed the touchflo rom.. anyone know how to get back to the black theme??
Also....after installing the touchflo rom i noticed that i was missing a couple applications. One in particular is Tzones. I have a hotspot service and cant log on because i dont have the login screen.. anyway i can get this back to my phone? the IM client was also lost but i found this...
any help would be greatly appreciated!
Mike
Which touchflo rom did you download? If you got the one for the wing, go into Start>Settings>Today>T-Mobile_Default_Blue should be the OEM theme. Hope that helps a little.
Well initially the phone was apparently set to the Mobile_Default_Blue but was a black theme. When i switched it and went back to it then it was blue. I really liked the black theme and want to switch back but i havent a clue how to do so....i've been searching. Help is greatly appreciated.
I'm running the PDAVIET v14 rom.....Being as this is not a tmobile rom the myfavs are not on it. Its not a huge deal, as a matter of fact i dont even really care. But i wouldnt mind getting the tzones back until my total internet package takes effect on the 23. any suggestions anybody?
In that same Today settings tag you should be able to select which items to show up on the today screen, and there should be an option for T-zones there. Or you could flash a different rom onto your wing that supports T-zones if you can't find it there.

I have the PDAVIET .14 ROM and MyFaves are, in fact, in it. You just need to use a tool like Memaid 2.0 to find the link and add it to your start menu or the Home Page. That's what I did, and it's working fine.
TZones should also in the ROM, and can probably be added in the same way.
Well....i'll keep looking into the Tzones issue. It is nowhere on my phone. I really do like the touchflo rom and the cube feature so i dont neccessarily want to switch roms. I wouldnt mind having it back on the phone as i get ringtones and such from there (thats pretty much it) Is there away to put it back on the phone without having to find another rom?? Or is there a better way to get ringtones?
As for the myfaves, thats not a huge concern either...i'm sure that even if you dont have the myfaves selection on the phone you can still use the service..you just have to manage them on mytmobile.

So I not really familiar with the app Memaid 2.0. how exactly would i go about finding these apps with that program. I dont mind installing it and trying to find it but i wouldnt know where to start. And is there any other program that does the same thing...i mean, i dont truly feel like paying 20 bucks for it, anywhere else i can get it from?
Ok, download and run the Wing Touch it ROM from Tyer's thread. It will still run and operate like the touch, but have all the same features of the Wing RUU, like Myfaves, T-zones, IM clients, etc...
I appreciate all of your help.....like i said the myfavs and tzones are not a hell of a big deal but i guess they are sorta convenient. So the Touch it rom VERSUS the touchflo rom is pretty much identical with the exception Touchit was made with the standart apps from tmobile? I truly like the cube feature and dont want to loose it...if they're the same except for the preloaded apps, i would do it....so this is the case??
Again, you guys have been very helpful, thanks a bunch!
For the black bars, under extra, (within programs) there should be a "glossy black bars" icon. Click on it.
Ur probably talking about Glossy Black Bars
go to ur programs, it should be there, just click it n it'll change
Just Wondering
I was just wondering if any1 has devised a way to use a portion of your sd memory as ram some how?? or is this a stupid question??
its an interesting idea, but SD is too slow to use for RAM

aim w/ gprs ONLY?

i was just wondering if there is a program that lets you connect to aim and just using gprs i have unlimited sms and txt but dont have wireless any help would be great i was even looking for a cab file of the tmobile oz program but couldn't find it thanx in advance
Here you go.
thanx man but for some reason i cant seem to connect.. i have a tilt on t-mobile network it shouldnt be a problem right?
it always says communication error. please try again or check your settings
I don't know, I've always hated the OZ messenger... so I've never used it. Maybe later on tonite, if I remember when I get home, I'll install it and mess around and see what happens on my end. Maybe it's something in some registry setting. Keep in mind, that TMO bought the licensing to include that in their stock Roms ... so there may be some registry setting or something in there that will only let it work on a Tmo Rom... hopefully we can figure out what it is and fix it.
Has anyone else installed the OZ messenger on Touch-IT or Open Touch and had it work properly?
Since Open Touch is based on the tmobile rom, maybe it works on somebody's phone who's using Open Touch.... anyone care to help us test?

So did this end up working?
Works for me. Thanks

FIXED: BeeJive JiveTalk on custom ROMS!

Finally!! I've made a set of CAB files that actually installs SQLCEMobile 3.0, and works with BeeJive !!!
Please install this on ANY custom ROM that does not have SQLCEMobile 3.0 already. This even works along side of SQLCEMobile 3.5 that is already included.
The latest BeeJive install can always be found here while its in beta: http://www.beejive.com/wm6/ppc/beta/BeejiveIM.CAB
Inside the attached ZIP file are two CAB files. Install them in the following order:
LennySh_SQLCEMobile_3.0.CAB
BeeJive_Fix.CAB
The second CAB file fixes the mistakes I can't seem to get my original CAB to fix yet. This will make it a two-step process to get this running. This works perfect on my Titan 6800 running WM6.1 with my custom rom build 20721.1.4.0.

So...
I cleaning system - ClearTemp
MemMaid
PocketMechanic
!!AND!! SkTools
- it found probs with registry - something with sql
FIX registry and?
WORKING!!!!
SO.... I download your file only because I'm gonna to buy Raphael....
tried on my rom installed beejive after that beejive fix and its working fine
Fix
Yes installed BeeJive followed by Lenny's followed by Fix and still get Unable to Get Key . . .
nice i'm goin to try it and see what happens
Edit
yea still know luck i installed the fix and still can't get beejive to work i'm using the latest build from beejive
thanks for the cabs. they worked perfect.

the reason you are getting that is because you need to connect to the Internet first, beejive can't connect to the Internet to get the key unless your phone is already connected. Just open your internet browser and than open beejive or click on get key in the menu.
this fix worked great! thanks for sharing man!
i just have one question:
could you post a .reg file of all the registry tweaks you made in the second cab? (not the sqlcemobile 3.0).
the reason is that i would love to cook this into my rom, but it's a little "messy" with the _setup.xml
thanks again man
connected online bbut still cant get key. any solutions?

If you include SQLCEMobile from a stock ROM, it will work on first boot after a hard reset. The main reason custom ROMs do not work, are because it's either missing SQLCEMobile altogether, or they used SQLCEMobile 3.5 instead of the stock 3.0.
thanks again for this i got it up and working on my phone it's not bad i went to the site and give them some suggestions on the forum and also referenced this thread because there were some people have issues getting it to install on there phones too
think i'm goin to stick with implus now for the moment but i will keep my eye on jivetalk

Can someone help with Apps and Upgrade!

Sorry guys im a noob to winmo, just wondering how i get into the registry to tweak things and make my HD2 run faster and more efficent, my youtube is very slow, would like to get the N wireless setting and make the screen flow smoother. i have seen multiple things about changing stuff in the registry and what not, would really appreciate any help i get, i dont want to have to sell this thing to get an iphone again, i already have the Wifi router and pandora but just need to learn how to tweak this baby up. thank you
And can someone help with giving me a good location to get a free registry editor, and some tips. thankyou
can someone please direct me to a registry editor i can download and the cab file directory and the settings page that list all of the different registrys you can change to improve performance. Anyone out there that can help me would be nice, i have searched and cant find definate links. Thank you
Try this it might help to find what you are looking for.
You might also want to think about getting off the stock ROM would solve a lot of problems.
what file would you suggest for a rom reflash, in order to flash a new rom does it have to have that HSPL that i see peple mention. I just got a registry program and have been doing some tweaks and also got BsB tweaks.
As far as ROMs it's personal preference. Yes you would need Hard HSPL before flashing a new ROM. I currently run NRG's Energy rom and I find it works well. But I might be moving to a new one this week since I got my new HD2.

The second post will help with general info about your new HD2!
LED notifications don't seem to operate in the same way as all the other HTC devices for some reason! I only ever get a blinking green LED when I have a missed SMS, but nothing else. I have been unable to find anything the reproduces this... but a search will take you to a thread detailing a mod which will make the lights around the buttons blink on missed call/SMS/mail etc..
Delivery reports can be switched on - try using something like BSB Tweaks to toggle reports
Another search should let you find something called QuickMenu - which serves a number of purposes, amongst which is a simple task manager, which allows you to "kill" unwanted tasks from running - it also gives you a "classic" style Start button!
Hope these help!
Remember, MOST things can be found on here, so don't be afraid to search - you can almost guarantee you won't be the first person to ask!!!
Enjoy your new phone!!
LOL! By the time I had posted, someone else had beat me to it!! Plenty of ppl wanna help!!

A .cab is basically a "cabinet" for the software/file - you download it, or drag and drop it onto your sd card (through your pc) then click it in file explorer (on the phone) and it will extract and you can select where to install the program.
Look in the themes and apps section of this forum for lots of useful things and use the search bar

Hmmm, good point about Delivery reports on O2 - I had heard that the network doesn't offer them, but I could be wrong on that count. If I'm not, that does pose a problem because if the network doesn't send anything, there is no way of the phone knowing the result of a sent text. :-(
A .CAB file is an installation file. (Short for CABinet - an old Windows term) You would transfer the CAB to your phone and run it from there to install the relevant software contained within the CAB onto your phone.
BSB Tweaks is a program which has LOADS of tweaks and mods which can be easily selected by a simple ON/OFF interface - and makes making these small mods MUCH easier than trawling through the registry for new users!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=589305&highlight=BSBTweaks is a link to where you can find it!
Cd78 - Thanks for the help, ill do a search in the themes and apps and see what i can come up with. With the .Cab files if i download one and put it onto my device via the windows mobile device center then do the extraction on the phone. Will that work?
namwollem - I know thats the problem im hoping if i can get the BSB tweaks the SMS sent notification will work.
As with the BSB Tweak Thread, i cant seem to find a link to download the programme. Where can i find this? And for the installation on my HD2 is it practically the same as download a .cab file? Sorry for all the questions :/ but one last one do i need to download anything to be able to install the BSB tweaks? Its just i saw on the important note at the top of the thread that .NetCF 3.5 is required. Is this true?
Apologies for all the questions, im really not too sure how to do most of these tech things on my HD2 and i dont want to do it wrong and have an expensive brick lol
Thanks for all your help though guys you'v ebeen great

bsb tweaks can be very helpful, but do not turn on the screen sensitivity or tap time tweaks or your phone screen will be inoperable while in call....
nrfitchett4 - Thanks for the advice. And the attachment of BSB Tweaks.
So to install on my phone i would need to download the attachment and transfer the .cab file to my phone via the Windows mobile device centre and then find the .cab file through the file explorer and extract it, then follow installation. Is that right? or is there an easier way?

If you have a PC/laptop with Bluetooth, that is probably the easiest way - its the way I move files to and fro. Or if you have a card reader on your PC/laptop, you can copy all the CABs and other files you want onto your memory card, and then transfer the card into your phone, and off you go!
As for whether BSB will enable delivery reports, thats a "No" I'm afraid, it will only react to what you network send out. I do recall reading that if you prefix your text message on O2, you could get a delivery report, how true that is I don't know, but I am sure I have read it in a couple of places. I'll have a look into it for you, and come back to you!
O2 Delivery Reports
As I am not on O2 myself, I cannot check this, but apparently, the following will allow you to receive a delivery report from the O2 network.
Start a new text message and before you begin typing your message, enter
*0# followed by a space and then your message, the other person does not see the code but you will get a message back saying when it has been delivered.

I assume by Windows Mobile Device Centre, you have either Vista or Se7en installed on your PC. I am an XP man myself, but I assume that it is essentially the same as ActiveSync (which XP uses to connect to Windows Mobile devices). Once your phone is connected, you can use the explorer to navigate "into" your device, and copy the CABs of your choice into your phone, so you can run them at your leisure.
If I have missed anything I apologise as I don't know WMDC myself, but I'm sure someone on the forum would be able to help you out on that one!

Seeing as the .NET 3.5 for Windows Mobile is freeware, hopefully posting the two CABs here will not be a problem (needless to say they are COPYRIGHT MICROSOFT).
View attachment dotnet3.5.zip <<< Download here!!
unZIP this file on your PC and transfer the two CABs to your phone, and run them. One will install the actual .NET framework itself, and the other is for error debugging and diagnosis etc..
If posting this causes a problem and a MOD removes them, a search on google should point you to another download location!

Sorry for slow reply, I've been tied up with work for the last couple of days! I don't actually use the Manila clock myself, but I have read that many people don't like the excessive flipping it does when you first goto the home screen. If this is what you mean, there is a modification which will stop it from doing that....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583161
Otherwise, another option is to install the Cookies Home Tab, which allows you many customisations of the Manila home screen (which includes clock faces etc).!

Hope that this will help you!
