Hello
The back speacker of my Hermes-qtek-htc-9600-tytn is broken down.
I have done a hard reboot, checked the connector but it still does not function.
Please could you give me an URL to buy a back speaker for France ?
Thanks all for your assistance.
Sorry for my english.
Cordially, NewCom
Try this xda-developers thread to begin with: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317870
Best advice is to do a search for "Hermes speaker" either on xda-developers.
I am sure however that you'll find what you are after if you spend some time searching this forum for answers to begin with.
All the very best.

Hello,
Are you sure your microphone is dead? (Can check with the headset) And if you really want to replace it yourself, go ahead give a try. Be carefull. There is a thread in this forum with complete guide to disassemble the unit, search with the string "how to disassemble mda"

Hello all, I listen to a lot of music at work using my XDA EXEC not a good idea on a fork lift as the uni gets knocked around a bit! Anyway the headphone socket has broken off the circuit board so now I have no sound and can no longer make calls and I'm getting cheesed off with looking at it to see if the amber light is flashing?
I have another XDA EXEC which is like new, I bought it off Ebay some time ago hoping it was the screen and battery that was dodgy but it was blocked so as good as dead!
So what I want to do now is take what ever I need to take off the motherboard from the uni that I currently use with no headphone socket and replace it with the blocked uni so I can make calls and have sound!!
But I don't know what I need to take off or what it looks like?
The reason I want to do this, is because my uni I use has had a hard life and the motherboard is a little brittle and I'm loosing buttons!
If anyone can help me out here so I can carry on using the old girl!!
Cheers..
Have a look on my sig link, there is the service manual on hot to dismantle the Uni
Good luck!

Hello Orb, I have this PDF manual which I have used many times but what I want to know is what parts on the motherboard do I need to remove so I can get a radio signal from my spare uni as its blocked/Blacklisted. I presume its a chip of some sort? Where is it and what does it look like?? I can then make a good uni out of the two of them!
Oh! I get it, perhaps you can ask enigma1 as she is an expert on this matters
Haven´t seen her in long time
Good luck!

Yep, try PM her, hope you fins your way soon!
Have you tried contacting your operator? I accidentally bought a blocked HTC from eBay, and after contacting Orange to see what was going on, they unblocked it with no fuss.

Hello Jonny, Yeah I contacted O2 and they wasn't very happy that I had a blacklisted phone! I told them I bought it off Ebay but they had no intention of unblocking it for me so I didn't stay on the line long!

Let us know how all goes and good luck!
Right have have sent a message and received a reply so I am going to copy and paste it here, Hope she doesn't mind!?
Hi, I had a quick read through the problem you have. I am not sure how the broken off earphone socket affects the main speakers or internal speaker altogether, there has to be some other underlying problem to stop the sound all at once.
Unfortunately, the only suggestion I can make involves soldering of the broken off socket/replacement of one with another socket. The entire board of the new Uni you purchased is of no use to you due to being blocked, however, I had some evidence that being blocked on one network will not necessarily mean being blocked on all, therefore you can always try it with another network's SIM. Of course you can take both apart and swap housing and LCD to make it into 1 device, the suggestion Orb3000 made is a sound one with regards to seeing the disassembly procedure, alternatively there is a HTC Universal Service Manual floating on the net that you can search for and download, it is very detailed and will lead you every step of the way.
ALTERNATIVELY, you can always try using your semi-broken Uni with bluetooth headset to make calls and listen to the music.... Even with mono bluetooth headset and Pocket Player you can do anything you want, from calls to MP3s and Voice Command - Pocket Player has an option of sending your music over the bluetooth.
My uni seems to have the sound back so hopefully it will stay on!
Glad to know that
Long live to Uni!!!!

No need to hump.
Search through MTCD forums, both solutions to MCU version and also tool to stop error message are there.
Up ?
Marchnz....your replies to almost all posts of "this has been covered before" and search the forum for a solution" and "what does your local repair shop say is a solution" lack any sense of assistance on a forum that was designed to assist. If you do not have an answer or solution; please do not post anything.
Nah Marchnz' answer is perfectly appropriate for a post that's been getting bumped daily. Now that's obnoxious.
Where to start? The post title does nothing to attract the attention of someone who might have the answer. I have answered to similar problem many times. If the sound cuts out suddenly and there was no changes in software (updates, mods...) then it's fair to assume there's a hardware problem. Here it's likely the amp chip pins that need re-soldered. Had the guy taken the time to search the forum he could have saved a lot of trouble knowing not to fiddle with the firmware. Had he searched the forum before fiddling with the firmware he would have known to export the MCU settings before flashing it. But that's besides the point since it seems the guy wasn't on XDA before he did all that.
The point is make the effort to research before going all out trying a bunch of things then bugging for someone to bail you out.
My question is why would you bring back an old post if you have no answer to provide?
Hello everyone. I received an updated Firmware directly from seicane for their head unit. This is Android 10 update for the 2/32 GB unit. Everything seems to be working great so far on unit. If you would like to try it for yourself please feel free to download and install. I'm not too tech savvy so if you have any questions I'll answer them the best I can. Thought I would share for anyone to update their own unit if possible
PLEASE BE ADVISED YOU USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
I will not be held responsible for any damages done to your own unit.
Thank you!
