So i got my new battery and it's working just fine. Only problem is, some times status for the battery suddently fails. The phone runs just fine, but the battery status bar, on the power screen, and there are just these letters: dsadFSA.
A soft reset fixes it, but it's a little annoying.

Where did you get the battery?? Does it has more capacity then the OEM battery?? I've heard of cases where larger replacement batteries don't report their status correctly in the past.

Bought it off ebay, and yes it has more capacity, 2400ma.
It reports the status just fine most of the time. But guess it might be the problem.
Okay, i can now see that this links to excessive audio output use.. AND while the status is dsadFSA the phone wont output any sound, untill soft reset.

hello all,
First post here! The charge icon on my 8125 is stuck on the charging icon. Sometimes I can unplug the phone from the charger then click on the battery and it will still show as charging. If that wasnt bad the battery lists as a constant 100% but then dies???? I did a hard reset and all still a no go? Any help?
???
Have you flashed your rom?......If so re-flash the rom.....if not call the At&t warrenty dept.
good luck
Nope no flashing of ROMs here.... too scared lol. I kinda did not want to go through the warranty dept. thought maybe someone else had this problem.
help please
bump for a solution! To add on to my problem the green led stays solid and the screen does not time out (doesnt not dim automatically). When going into my power settings it detects my battery but the power remaining stays at a constant 100%. The battery is the original manufacture battery, no flashing of any sort has been done to the phone. I dont even tamper with the registry. Confused....
update.. I flashed the phone with the offical HTC rom and the problem still remains. Running outta solutions to try. Has no one encountered this problem?
Daily Bump. Could it be a hardware issue?
Bump. I changed the battery with my wifes 8125 still get the charging icon. Clicked on the battery status and it reads as charging? My phone dies very quickly now as the screen does not power save and the LED's remain solid. I also used a cotton swab to clean the usb and battery contacts.
So I said screw it and flashed a newer Radio. 2.69.21 I got the green led to flash now instead of staying solid. The icon still shows as charging but a little closer i guess. But now battery is listed as unknown and there is no battery status.
For the last few weeks, my herm has been randomly displaying the charging icon both in the tray area and s2u2, when it's actually running on battery. i've noticed the battery life has started shrinking a lot, going down to one day and a half tops, on 3g with a new battery. has anyone had this problem? could you please help? i've searched the forums and haven't found anything
Don't think I've seen this problem before. Typically folk will suggest a hard reset. You can try that although I'm not so sure it's a software issue.
I would check that all the battery connector contacts are clean and contacting the battery well. I would also ensure that the USB connector has no bent contacts or any contaminants in it. I suggest these things because it's almost as if the device is detecting falsely that a usb cable is inserted.
Mike
I'm pretty sure it's hardware related, because i've done hard-resets and rom changes, and the same thing happens. but usually it happens when the phone is in stand-by. when i turn it on, it says it's charging for a few seconds, then shows the battery as it should

Mmm that though just sounds like a bit of lag.
Mike
so that means it's not actually discharging my battery faster? thank you for your answers, Mike
mine does it too, its just a bug with the hardware i think. usually mine shows charging after i turn the screen back on then after 5 secs or so changes to normal battery indicator.
Hi there guys, I have recently bought an HTC Titan from Alltel (the black one) and noticed that it says the warning message "Main Battery Very Low" even if its at 100% of its capacity (verified this with another titan) I thought that it was a software issue, so I didnt worried about it.
Sadly I have already build and cooked my rom, updated everything and it works great, but I receive the same error, main battery very low, also if I connect the usb cable or the wall charger it doesnt shows the charging state, I mean, it says that its charging but if you open the battery metter instead of showing the increasing and decreasing percentage bar it just says at "0%" and thats all.
Also I have already verified if the phone charges the battery and everything... it does, the phone charges the battery and everything works normally, it just dont stops giving the message, and it also turns the phone off eventually.
Any suggestions? hardware issue? whats going on? =/.
Thanks in advance.
have you tried a hard reset?
try finding someone with a titan and switch out the batteries for a minute or two and see if you get the same worning with a different battery.
Dear all,
Does anyone have the problem where HTC Touch 3G does not fully charged the battery even after 8hours of continous charge. When I do a soft reset the battery will show 100 percent and if I plug in back to the charger, the LED light on the device will turn solid green after a while. Also if I switch off the device via holding the power button and selecting 'YES' from the dialog box then it would also charged to 100%. Does anyone know if this is software or hardware related? Thanks.
Regards,
Kueh.
Me to: It will not completely charge!
Same behaviour here! It will not completely charge the battery. When I do a soft reset the battery will show 100 percent and if I plug in back to the charger, the LED light on the device will turn solid green after a while.
I guess it is software related..?
same on mine!
This is what I understand how it works...
The moment you unplug the charger, the fully charged battery is immediately used and becomes 99.999* %, even if the phone is off. Some power will be used e.g. the internal clock. But the default and customised some battery indicator will still show 100% (depending on what settings you use). If you use the customised 1% increment/decrement level, it will immediately show 99% and down and down. So when you plug on again, the battery is already 99.9999% and it will charge until 100%.
Battery issue..
The same behavior here too.
It appears as 100 % only after Soft reset.
And the LED - when the battery is full the LED flashing Green, but still flashing. The LED use some energy,so its normal for me.

Is not like that...
When battery is about 10% gives a message about the low battery level. I charge it, and the battery level becomes up, until 70%, then stops growing up and the led continues in orange. It can pass hours and the level maintain the 70% and the led doesnt turn to green.
Any could say what could happen?
I think it wolud be problem of:
1- the battery
2 - the charger
3 - the hardware in the htc that manages the charging.
4 - The software in the htc that manages the charging.
5 - ...any idea?

Have you tried charging your unit with the screen turned off ? or maybe shutdown the phone and charge it, I do it in my Jade and it charge very quick. in less than two hours the LED turns green. Hope that helps
Hi,
I have to a Hard Reset for the battery recharging status to work. Also when third party battery Icon program is used the problem comes back again. So now I have remove them all and it have worked for a few weeks now. Removing the third party program without a Hard Reset does not do the trick. Hope this helps.

Kueh

My opinion, you may have problem with the hardware, charger or even battery itself. You should send the set to the service centre.

I use a customised battery icon (the 1% incremental) and there's no problem. Full charging from about 10% is reached in < 2 hrs, even charging using PC or laptop.

Hi,
Have you tried ArielBattery program. I like it but it just interfere with the full charging problem and without it the system works perfectly in my case it is not hardware problem.

Yes, I have used ArielBattery for quite a while, and I did not give me any problem. Now I am using this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3330601&postcount=69) and there's no problem either. And I do check and compare between the two

I would be expectant next time i recharge...
My phone is shutting down automatically after showing “google” logo. I went back to stock lollipop 5.0.1 but the problem still persist. It’s working fine with the charger plugged in. If I remove the charger after switching on, if I kept it idle, it will stay on till the battery is empty. But if I try to do something it will shutdown. In recovery mode it works well without the charger.
Please help me is anyone facing the same issue.
may be you should try flashing a new kernel
i tried stock Google images still no use.
Is there any noticeable bulge to the battery? It might be a battery issue.
This is almost certainly a battery issue.

I don't think its a battery issue, because if i keep my device idle it'll last 1 day.
It only crashes if i use the phone, even swiping home screens crashes the phone.
Well, you've already gone back to pure stock which rules out a software issue, and so the next thing I thought would be a battery issue. I have read here about defective batteries causing all sorts of problems like losing signal, non responsive touchscreens and bootloops, and so it's a possibility that this is a battery problem.
I got strange problem with my n4..
Battery % randomly change and shut down, unsensible touchscreen, battery icon disappear from menu..
Maybe this hw problem could touch the SW part
that's how my problem started

My nexus 4 cant't turn on without charger plugged in. But when I go to Recovery, it work fine. A few days ago, it's sometime shutdown suddently when I was playing game. Then it worked fine after I plugged charger in and turn it on. Is this battery issue?
So even when the device is fully charged it won't boot into Android?

It can boot with a little trick (press the lock icon on boot screen continuously) and work fine with charger plugged in. When unplugged the phone shutdown immediately
