Bluetooth problem - works after softreset then won't activate - P3600 General

As mentioned above, if I soft reset my device the bluetooth works fine. I can turn it on /off many times but after a few hours I can't. I can manually select the tick box but after selecting OK and go back in, it is deselected. The only way to get it going again is to soft reset. Anyone got an idea as to why?

shotcuts disapears in settings/system tab

sometimes it happens in my kjam that some shortcuts disapears from the system tab in settings, like device information, regional settings, screen, power, & mic AGP, and i have to reset the device to get those shortcuts back.
does anybody knows why this is happening?
anyone???
here's what i have in my system tab.
No explanation, but I do get the same issue. Seems to be when some program messes up.
I got the same problem, but not that often. If i reboot the wizard evrything gets back to normal again
Same problem here after installing applicatios which put a shortcut there. After a reboot on the wizard everything work fine and the lost icons appear.
it does appear after the soft reset, but is there any solution anybody knows about to solve this issue?
i hate having to reset the device to get those shortcuts again, specially when i need one urgently.
I noticed this happens when you install MS Voice Command. A simple soft reset brings everything back. Don't know why it happens though. it is annoying.

remote screen display

How can I view my screen on my laptop now that my screen is dead? Anything that involves tapping buttons on my Hermes would be difficult, but I still have access via activesync...
Try http://www.mymobiler.com/
Good luck!
Thanks, I'll give it a go.
I installed it but I can't tell what's happening on my mobile now. I tried to hard reset because it was making all these alert noises when it booted up, but it didn't work... now Activesync won't connect and gets stuck on 'retrieving settings'. The phone just beeps one alert beep when it boots up, I've tried typing my password in but that doesn't do anything... I'm a bit stuck
I'd like to be able to hard reset it, but I don't know if I can do this without entering my password first. When I push down the 2 soft keys and push the reset hole I should then be able to press 'r' on the keyboard for a hard reset, but that doesn't seem to work, so is there any other way of hard resetting, am I doing something wrong?

Keyboard backlight off too quick

Hi guys,
I'm very new to pda's/smartphones 'n stuff, so be gentle.
I have a Touch Dual since few days, and the one thing that irritates me is the keyboard backlight. When typing an sms the lights go off just after 8 seconds or so... That's too fast for me, I still have to get used to having a qwerty keypad on my phone.
to be clear: I don't mean the backlight on the display itself, buy the light beneath the keypad when open.
Is there a registry setting, or a tweak/application that could correct this for me?
Thnx in advance,
Lukas
same problem here...
You could try the most excellent KaiserTweak, I've found most of its tweaks to be compatible with my Nike, haven't tried the backlight though -> http://www.jongma.org/KaiserTweak/
yes try the kaiserTweak. it's under option Keyboard->backlight. The default value is 10 sec. you can up the time to more in the tweak.
Downloaded the tweak app, changed the keyboard setting and a bunch of other interesting settings (because I'm a curious idiot in case someone asks) and now the device kind of hangs on the password screen... I can't unlock anymore.
The device reacts to taps and both screen and keypad input. Also, if I type the wrong password I get the obvious error message. If I type the correct passcode, and tap 'unlock' then nothing happens and after a minute or so the * disappear and I can start over again..
Is this a known bug?
What do I do now? Hard reset? That will wipe out all my settings and files right?
Thnx
Lukas
please help... Hard reset did not help. Device is still unresponsive...
This are the numbers I get when the device is booting:
M 04
B 04
R 1.58.16.27
G 25.61.30.03H
D 1.31
just want to make sure you did your hard reset correctly. how did you do it exactly? the button by the battery after you remove the back cover?
I took this from the manual because from what you described. doesn't sound like you did it correctly. a hard reset should put it back to its factory setting.
Hard reset
You can also perform a hard reset (also known as a full reset). A hard reset should be performed only if a normal reset does not solve a system problem. After a hard reset, the device is restored to its default settings -‑ the way it was when you first purchased it and turned it on. Any programs you installed, data you entered, and settings you customized on your device will be lost. Only Windows Mobile® software and other pre-installed programs will remain.
To perform a hard reset
1. Press and hold the TALK and END buttons, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the left side of your device.
2. Release the stylus, but continue pressing the TALK and END buttons until you see the following message on the screen:
This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to the manufacturer default settings. Press ENTER to restore manufacturer defaults, or press any other button to cancel.
3. Release the TALK and END buttons, and then press ENTER on your device.
Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Please ensure any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before a hard reset is performed.
Hi Fatlove...
Indeed you're right. And I did read my manual. And I did it EXACTLY like stated in the manual.
This is what I posted in the General forum:
Ok,
This is going to be stupid, but I'll admit to it anyway...
I've read in the manual on how to perform a hard rest. It states to push the send and end buttons, keep the pushed in, and then press the soft reset button until a text appears on the screen. That text states to press "Enter" to continue, and any other key to cancel.
Well, the 'Enter' key to me is the 'enter' key on that qwerty keypad, not the shiny silver button between the Send and End buttons.
To the writer of the manual the enter key on the keypad does not exist.
So that's why a hard reset did not help. Because I did not perform one.
My bad. Anyways, my phone is ok again, sorry for the doublepost.
Grtz
Lukas
Anyways, thnx for the reply, and for the record: the keypad backlight still doesn't work after har reset and re-applying the keiser tweak. Still lit only 8 seconds or so. Does it matter that I copied the Keiser executable to my storage card? It doesn't have to be on the device itself now, does it?
Thnx again.
Lukas
Nope.. kaisertweak is not working for this property (Keyboard backlight)
Anyone
I tried several Registry settings but nothing worked so far.
Anyone else had succes?
Still no solution for this problem?
It's pretty annoying
I tried changing values in the registry as well, but nothing worked. So I'm also interested in a possible solution...
Damn, I hate that light turning off that quick. There must be a solution
I also have been trying a lot of registry settings without solutions
Anybody knows?
I tried this kaiser tweak on my dual and it had no effect. Had to remove it.
kaiser tweak had no effect on my dual either..
qwerty key board
hello i have the htc touch pro and my external keyboard light go's off in about 3 sec does anybody now how to get the time longer
I've the same problem, keyboard backlight stops after about 8 seconds
I tried some register settins and also with Advanced Configuration Tool (Julien Schapman), but no result.
Hope somebody can fix this

network lost (but not really)

Hi,
since a couple of days I'm facing the following strange bug:
- I start a call, get connection, screen goes out: all okay for now
- I end the call, I loose network connection (an "x" is next to the antenna symbol)
- I can perfectly start a new call or receive one!!
- As sms can't get through (outgoing) because "no radio connected"
- the phone dialer screen says "phone off"
- when I check the Connection Manager it says "airplane mode"
- switching of the "airplane mode" is not possible
- when I press the power button (into sleep mode), and press it again (even immediately), unlock my S2U2, everything is back to normal. Very briefly I see (on the S2U2 screen) a switch from: network name => no service => network name. I don't even need to enter my PIN.
Side note: when I end the call before it gets connected (AND the connection vibrate), nothing happens...
I first encoutered this behaviour after installing SmartLock 1.7E (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505032).
I removed it shortly after. Searched the registry, but couldn't find anything.
Problem of course remains.
Anyone has a solution, hints, things to try...?
Thanks for reading!

try this.. uninstall everything new. clear all cache. Soft reset. See if it returns to normal. If unsuccessful.. try hard reset.

Imagio screen turnoff time

Anyone know how to change (extend) the amount of time the screen will stay on? Or disable auto-shutoff all together?
I have tried Setting> All Settings> System> Power> Advanced> "Turn off backlight if not used for" and "Turn off device if not used for" but changing the times and unchecking the options all together don't seem to make any change with the screen shutting off. It shuts off halfway through messages in visual voicemail, and it's annoying to try and read things on the internet when the screen shuts off every 30 seconds and I have to 'unlock' every time.
Any help?
Thanks!
I haven't tried it, but have you unchecked the auto adjust backlight option on the Backlight tab in that same Power Settings menu?
i havent but i will try it now.
that didn't fix it.
I did a hard reset and now the options in the power settings menu work as they should... going to run sprite backup to restore everything and hopefully it will stay fixed.
ok so after hard reset the backlight would stay on per the settings... then I restored via sprite backup and now it won't stay on again...
Sounds like there is some reg settings you imported, maybe from a cab install you did prior to backup? Not sure of all the keys involved offhand that would potentially affect this.
bump.. It's back. The screen turnoff and turnoff device setting in the power options have no effect.. it turns off the screen after 30 seconds no matter what. Really annoying when trying to watch videos or read an email.
Any ideas?
It's such a pain to hard reset.
From what you've said it sounds like you've imported something in the sprite along with the rest of your stuff. This is the number one reason I don't use back up apps. Buts that's just me. If you can't figure out what app you've installed that is causing it then you will have to HR again and restore apps one by one.
