Since my older thread seems to be dead, I'll rephrase the question.
How would I go about porting, say, the newer Kaiser ROM to the Wizard?

Hi,
I'm totally new to this thing called flashing roms i've read the faq and I still have some unanswered questions about it. If i download a new rom to my hermes, does that mean that i've added the "cooked" OS to my phone and it cant be removed and sooner or later i will run out of rom?

I dont quite get the question exactly but think of the ROMs as an alternate OS for your phone. You flash it onto your phone (make sure to read all the guides before doing this) and it replaces the previous one. If you dont like it you can download the original ROM from your providers website.
so the rom works just like a normal memory? whats the difference then?
here's a wealth of information on upgrades, questions, etc...enjoy

Hello,
I have seen that the question was already asked, but the question dated from one year so may be there will be new solutions :
Can we put the cooked rom in a Device Emulator?
Thanks in advance
Guillaume
I don't think so, however it might be possible. The problem with it is that the emulated hardware will be different to that of a device, and so the ROM would have to be specifically for it.
I'll try and dump the ROM image, and see whether it is similar to other ROMs...
Hum...interesting question....
It appears that the OS is not the same format as any other ROM (it can't be dumped properly) and so I don't think it could be rebuilt with different parts...
I read alot in this forum but, I haven't seen if most of the Cooked Roms in here are compatible with all the different "touch" phones out there. I have a new/used ppc it is the Hermes or Cingular 8525 and I like some of the Roms for the Wizard. Thus the Question, are the roms compatible with other phones or only the phone in that particular Phone Forum?
No, you must use a rom that is designed (either cooked or OEM) for your specific device.
Ok, that's what I needed to know.
Thank you very much!
If you see a wizard rom you like look in the hermes section for that same chef. Most of us cook similiar Roms for each device we have.
I have a hermes (spv 3100) and wondering where i can get some newer, custom-brewed ROM's for it? there doesnt seem to be a rom section for it here on xda
There's a few scattered in here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=306
Even newer ones here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=355
Actually, there's a WHOLE section devoted to WM 6\6.1\6.5 ROMS... I don't think we need to tell you where it is as if you look, you might find it yourself...
is there an android-like rom? or any roms similar to android..
what is the most downloaded rom??
First of all, this is not the right forum for a thread like this. This is not a thread about ROM development, so it doesn't belong in the ROM development forum. That's common sense, come on.
THAT SAID.
..I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "Android-like ROM". 99% of these ROMs are running SenseUI on Windows Mobile 6.5. They all generally behave the same way.
If you're looking for a ROM that just looks like Android, then the WM Themes forum is what you're looking for.
The most downloaded ROM for the T-Mo US HD2 is likely EnergyROM or Kumar's.
