No MMS or internet on 8125 - Networking

I have looked around for some answers to this question and I am not sure it has been addressed. I have the AT&T 8125 that has been upgraded, unlocked, SuperCID unlocked, IPL and SPL above 3, and running WM6. I recently switch to T-moblie and I cannot send or recieve MMS messeges or get on the internet. I have tried T-mobile's help wqebsite and even talked to technical support. Thier settings do not work at all. Can anybody shed some light on this?

i would use search in only the networking forum
and search for "mms AND <your isp>" and or "gprs AND <your isp>"
and manualy type in the settings
or maybe somebody liked to a cab file with your operators settings

XDA II SIM unlocked: how to use GPRS to connect to the Net..

Hi,
I just unlocked my XDA II and I'm using a Vodafone SIM in it. How do I utilize GPRS, WAP and Modem connectivity with this SIM? Is it possible to get rid of all the O2 crap installed on it, i.e. "clean" it up properly?
A new skin would be cool!
Cheers,

you are by no means the first who ask this question
And what's the answer? Is it possible at all?
--
Thomas
yes it possible the xda is not limited to o2 in anyway
you just have to set it up
to do this you need to know the connection point your provider use for mms, grps and wap (if you also want that)
there are many posts which explane how you set it up in the network forum
but if you cant find any i could explane it step by step i suppose
i dont know much about o2's settings but if it's today stuff you can turn it off under today in settings
otherwise you can always make your own rom at www.yorth.net and get a more pure non o2 custom rom
you can get tons of skins as in today skins on many sites
and at yorth.net you can also get phone skins or have explaned how to make them yourself
Works fine now, thanks. Vodafone's acces point is named 'internet' (which was easy to read off the SIM), and the user/passwd is web/web (had to call them up to get that). So GPRS works fine. Needs some more info to set a Modem connection, but it shouldn't be hard.
The reason for my original posting, was that I was lead to believe that O2 had "locked" the device, which is not the case at all.
Anyway, thanks for info. Btw, the link you mention does not work...
Cheers,

Ttm, I'm confused. I am in the same situation as you (xda II with vodafone sim), yet i cannot connect GPRS using your settings. The settings I connect with are APN: pp.vodafone.co.uk with the same user/password as you. This connects fine yet i cannot send or receive emails.
Am i doing something wrong? have i missed something in the setup? what do you reckon? :?:
cheers, coj
well one thing is to be able send mails and another is to get mail working
can you get IE working ?
Yes, IE is working fine and dandy
then i doubt it's a grps issue
if you put in all the mail settings like
pop3 and smpt if you used those protocols
and it still dont work with your type of mail protocol
then i would contact the phone company to see if they rout
your type of mails

AT&T GPRS Settings

Does anyone know what the AT&T GRPS settings for this phone are? I have an unlocked 8125, and can't get the MMS messages to download or connect to the internet via GPRS.
I had the same problem when i first got my 8125. After searching around the Cingular site I found a support page for the SX66. I followed the instructions on how to set up GPRS and everything worked fine.
8125 ATT MMS settings
This what you're looking for? Thank Bullshark...
"To configure the edge I changed "My ISP" Connection Settings. Edit "My ISP"
and in the "Access point name:" change it to "proxy" and leave the rest default. That's it Smile
When I want to use the edge I change my Network Management to "My ISP" from "My Work Network"."

MMS settings greyed out, unable to modify it...!

Hi, this my first post.
I'm using a Cingular 8125, just upgraded to T-Mobile ROM 2.26.10.2 WWE. I'm using this phone outside USA. All things works fine, except MMS. I tried to modify MMS setting but on MMS Configuration, options "New" and "Set as Default" are greyed out like current configuration.
I've spent so much time reading this forum and I've found some information related to edit some registers, but I'm still unable to send or receive MMS. I knows perfectly my cellular company setting, but I'm unable to setup it on my phone.
Any help would be appreciated. Regards.
Pedro.
I'm having the same problem!
I just flashed my MDA to 2.26, and now have the same problem. Pedro, did you ever find the fix?

X01HT(Hermes200) & AT&T's MediaNet Max

I just got this X01HT(Hermes200) with WM6 (Schap's 3.30c ROM) from eBay, and I am new to this forum. I am thinking to sign up with AT&T's MediaNet Max plan. Since it is NOT a Cingular 8525 phone "officially" supported by AT&T, I suspect the settings to access MediaNet and Cingular Video could be different, and if I call AT&T, they will not help because I am not using the phone they support. Could anybody help with the settings, or is there already a link (I searched and did not find it)? Thanks!

Mike
Thanks Mike for the links. But they are for Cingular (AT&T) 8525 which AT&T supports (meaning with Media Net URL already coded in the Today screen and in the AT&T ROM ? etc.) , and mine is X01HT with a non-AT&T ROM. I copied Cingular Video's URL from my son's AT&T-supported phone onto the PIE Address Bar on my X01HT, and the return error message said "CV is only available on supported 3G phones." But I know for a fact that my X01HT is a 3G phone...
Trying to follow the instructions on the second link, I did not even have Media Net on the "Select Networks" list so I could not go any further. I must be missing something and obviously a hopeless newbie. Perhaps some links specifically for using X01HT(Hermes200) with AT&T's Media Net would help to propel me into the wonderful world of MediaNetitng...
There are all different way to use the X01HT on AT&T network. If you don't mind use WM5, the esaliest way is to just DL the latest rom for AT&T - http://www.america.htc.com/support/8525/software-downloads.html.
If you want WM6, then you have to setup the MediaNet connection manuelly.

Hi maximuz329, thanks for your 3 postings responding to my question. The last one's link really helps. Now I can browse the net with URL typed into the address bar. One more question: what is the URL for Cingular Video for my X01HT(Hermes200), or any other way to access it beside typing-in the URL? Thanks again.

For cingular video..you need to make sure your proxy setting are correct. However I would recommend that you flash your phone with vpg's rom...and all will work for you :

Get the lastest one from vp3G... the 3.60 version

Here is the link to AT&T's Online Help. It refers to the Fuze but the settings are the same for us.
