HELLLPP!! Ear Phone Blow out? - Wing, P4350 General

This is the weirdest thing/worse thing that can happen to my wing so far....
I was on the phone talking like normal, everything ran fine, everything was perfect. The next phone call I get, I can't hear the other person...I'm yelling HELLO!?!? HELLO?!!...I thought it was their crappy flip phone. However, it was MY PHONE.
So everytime, I had to make a phone call or receive a phone call I have to put the person on speaker phone to hear them.
I did a hard reset and ERASED everything and that still didn't fix my problem.
So, I took a deep breath in and took apart the wing to check if there was a loose connection where the Ear Phone Speaker was connected to the board. Everything looked fine and un-plugged the speaker and used the Dust-Away Can on it and put it back in...and it still didnt work. I took disconnected the speaker again and just threw it against the table cause I got so mad. Connected it again. and Viola! It works again! I was extremely happy until....
Today during school it happened again, I couldn't hear the person, I did hard reset (thinking it was because of all the mods) but it wasn't. Then I took the speaker out again and did the same thing...but still doesn't work.
Any ideas guys? You think the speaker is just blown? I've only had the phone for 3 weeks. Any idea where I can buy a replacement speaker? (if you need a picture of the speaker, let me know and i'll post it)
Thanks for the help!

That happened to me... and it was because I was holding my Wing and a water bottle in the same hand, and apparently, I got some moisture in the speaker... and shortly after, the touchscreen stopped responding.. so I took it back and got a new one.

only thing i can suggest is if you figure out the part number for the speaker (either the HTC part number or the manufacturer part number) then search with that term on google and I am sure you will find atleast a few wholesalers and retailers from Hong Kong that sell that product. Did this on numerous occasions for lcds, antenae, and various parts for random electronics.

Did you try throwing it again?

yeah I did.
I guess the speaker is just blown. I went to a Cell Phone Repair place and they gave me a BlackJack speaker, its the same plugs but a little thicker, so theres a little bulge where the ear handset is.

How much did that cost ya?

JASJAR SOUND PROBLEM

Hi,
Am using a Jasjar. One fine morning the phone stopped ringing. No sound from the speakers at all. Though I could hear the other side on recieving or making calls. My voice does not go.
I sent it for repairs to I mate service center in Dubai (am in mumbai), Got back the machine working today. After making 5-6 calls ,the same problem has started again.
Please advice.
thanks ,
AT.
sounds like they didnt fix it, my 5.1 amp has just done similar, well not similar, but similar issue lol, grrrr
amp stopped doing video, sent to yamaha for repairs, got it back !!!AFTER 2 MONTHS WAITING!!! 2 weeks later its doing it again.
Back to Dubai it goes then! This time, try to shout enough so that they actually fix it.
A quick suggestion: (just in case)
In some cases people have had problems with sound loss from their Universals caused by the headphone jack. The sensor that identifies whether a headphone is plugged in is faulty and cuts out the speaker sound.
You could try putting a headphone jack into the socket and wiggling it, or plugging it in and out a few times. That might fix it.
I've had the same problem too a couple of times. I found that it was something weird with the battery actually. It always seemed to happen when I switched batteries. Everything would work fine except the audio. I could make a call but the other side couldn't hear me. When I would "click" on anything like Start all I would hear is a small popping sound. I found that if I took the battery back out, and then put it back in and made sure it was securely set in place & locked it the sound would work again. Sometimes I would have to do that twice before it would work again. I'm not sure if it really is a battery thing or something else that gets jiggled when I put a new battery in/out but that's what's worked for me. Hope that helps.

Dropped Magician. Sound stopped working!

I dropped my magician when i stepped out of my car.
The problem now it that my sound isn't working anymore. The back speaker as well as the ear speaker are both dead. I disassembled the phone, cleaned all the contacts with alcohol and bend the ear speaker contacts a little bit up, but still nothing. When i connect the headset i can hear sound and make a phonecall.
Another thing is that i hear a high frequenty sound coming from the screen. I only hear it when my ear is near the screen. Never had that before.
Maybe you can help me! I want my baby back working again. So if you have any suggestion i can try..

Since disasembling my phone, cleaning everything and putting it back together not fixed my problem I put the phone on my desk. It just layed there not working. Till this morning... i picked it up again and knowing it is not working but out of frustration I just try again. And to my suprise. It Works again! My sound is back?? How the hell is that possible... I tried shaking the device to see if there was maybe a lose contact. But how hard i shake the damn thing. It keeps working. 8)
Anyway, I'm happy again Only thing left is the strange sound coming from my screen, but I can live with that.

o2 XDA Neo no sound help

something weird just happened today the phone has no sound what so ever screen taps, playing music on speaker, incomming and outgoing call no sound no mic on both ends, the only sound I get is the ringtone when someone calls any clue?? I tried a hard reset twice but nothing only way now for me to make or receive calls is to use the headset then there's sound and mic.
after some searching the post I guess I have the common rear speaker problem I try opening it and touching the wire but no go I guess I have to send it back. Now heres the problem I'm in canada and I bought this in hong kong I have the recipe and everything and I pretty sure this has the standard manuafactory warranty but I have jester rom on this do I need to flash it back to the o2 because I'm sure I can't I have the G4 model and can't downgrade any suggestions?
After some tinkering I'm thinking that its the headphone jack thats causing it I think there might be some sort of sensor in there to let the phone know a headset is in and now the phone thinks that theres a headset even though theres none because when I recieve a call the ringtone goes off. I would open it but there 4 screws holding the plate together and on one screw theres a sticker that reads void if remove and I'm scared that if I'm wrong O2 won't fix it if and when they anwser my email.
I have the same problem with my Dopod 818 Pro bought in Malaysia. So I ended sending it to pocketctech.com for repair btw I am in Canada too.
how much did it cost no including shipping and is pocketpctech canadian or american??
fixed it kind of well heres my story after opening it up and having no idea what to do I put it back together got a little pissed and jammed a screwdriver in there now my my headset only has sound from one side, so I said F it and decided I was going to take it to a cell shop when I have time to get it fix since o2 asia is no help, when I was at work I was thinking what could be wrong I know that my speaker works and I'm sure there's some kind of switch in the headset hole so when I got home I decided to find a small pin and bend the front of it a little so it looks like a very small hook. after that I was jaming it in the hole (LOL) anyways I was right theres a small switch in there if you are look at in my view the screen is facing down the switch on the left behind a metal place, to my supprise my speakers came on yay!!!. But this is not the right way to activate the switch since if the speakers on and you plug in the headset the headset don't work lol you have to use the pin again to switch it back but then the speakers stops working. I did this a few times to confirm the switch is there but don't blame me if you try this and screw up your headset plug hole.

Help! Huge speaker and mic problem!

Ok guys, i've a really huge problem: the speaker and the microphone of my wizard don't work anymore. Don't know why - there was no impact on the phone (it didn't fall out of my pocket or so). The two speakers on the sides are working sometimes but the one for calling doesn't work. Even the microphone doesn't work anymore - no one can hear me and I can't hear anyone. This sucks!
I thought of a software problem, but even after the third different rom I've had the same symptoms. I'm thinking about disassembly the phone with the service manual.
What do you guys think? What should I do? Anyone experienced this?
Had something similar
Speakers weren't working at all so i had to use my headset . 3 minutes later I got furious and took the phone and headset and repeatedly plugged and unplugged it to and from the jack.
it actually worked somehow, i was able to use the speakers again
I guess my actions caused it to short itself back to normal
You can easily replace it for about 5 bucks.
Well, i'm goning to take the phone apart to fix this - maybe the contacts to the speaker are just corroded. But I have to say, that the phone sucks! Nothing's working like it should.
I'm having this same problem, it happens for a while then it fixes itself. anyone find a solution?
Fix
The contacts that switch between the headset and the internal speaker/mic are most likely not making a good connection. You can take it apart and clean them/replace the jack.
Another (much easier) approach is to put some dielectric grease (auto parts stores carry it, it's used to keep spark plug boots from sticking to spark plugs or coil packs) on the contacts of the headset jack (the part that goes into the phone) and plug it in and out a dozen times. This will usually fix it for a long time. I've fixed several Wizards this way, and they haven't failed yet.
Tom
I just had this exact same problem for the first time last night, I was playing a computer game on my desktop and a plane flew over head and my wifi internet went out and my phone did exactly what your talking about.
It was just weird that it all happened at the same time. I can hear anything out of the speaker except for when someone is calling or i get a text.
Thank god i found this post, I will try doing something crazy or maybe cleaning it out.
Be checkin' back!

Lost sound 'and' mic while in call

Ok, so I may have caused my problem, and it's not related to radios, etc. As you can see in my signature, I'm sporting the latest stock radio.
I spilled a drink on my kitchen counter this evening, beside my phone. I quickly picked it up to inspect, and, really, the only thing wet was the bumper (thank god I use a bumper). The back was completely dry, the front, almost everything. When I took the bumper off, the only bit of the drink that touched the phone was around the headphone jack. And when I say 'bit', I mean a very small drop of liquid... smaller than would be squeezed out of a normal dropper.
I felt relieved... as if I'd avoided disaster.
Then I received a call. I couldn't hear the person on the other end, so I hung up. They called back. I still couldn't hear them, and went on to state to them that there must be something wrong with their phone.
Needless to say, it was (is) my phone that had the problem.
Here are my symptoms.
1. While using the phone normally (against my ear), I cannot hear the other party, -and- they cannot hear me.
2. While using the speaker, I can hear the other party and they -can- hear me. I guess the microphone magically works while on speaker?
3. Everything works while using Bluetooth as well.
If a small bit of liquid did get into the earphone jack, could this have shorted something out and caused my problem? If so, could it resolve itself over time (surely it's dry by now... it happened a few hours ago.. but if not, when it dries)?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Problems have been resolved. Not sure why. Just started working.
