UPGRADE WIN PPC -> WM2003SE

Hi!
I read lots of articles about upgrading device soft but i can't get it clear enough. First of all: is it possible to upgrade my XDA/Wallaby to WM2003SE? I know it can be done with XDAII but I have Wallaby...
If Yes, can somebody write a detailed description about upgrading it or just paste in some links where the description and files are? What radio etc you recommend and why?
Here is what I'm running:
Microsoft Pocket PC version 4.20.0 (Build 13252)
ROM ver: 4.01.16 ENG
ROM date: 02/04/04
Radion ver: 4.21.00
Protocol ver: 32S54
What can i do with that? Thanks in advance
You cant upgrade wallaby to wm2003se.
so therefore is it possible to upgrade it with wm2003? I looked at siemens site looking for update to wm2003 but it is no longer available... anyone having it? is there any news about wm2003se available for Wallaby any soon?
sniffer you have mw2003 all rom versions beginning with 4.xxx are 2003
all that are 3.XXXX are 2002

Not really true.
There is a WM2003SE Version for the Wallabys.
But it´s protectef by an unknwon key, that uses (i think) the IMEI. Until now it´s not possible to use it on every device, since this key have to be adapted in any way to each device....
Stefan
Damn!!!! and why the hell did they protect it with a key?!?!?
you mean that no one ever can crack that key? ohhh

Windows media player 10 for Qtek 8020

Hello!
I want to ask something!
I have Qtek 8020 (it's like SP3i) and it has wmp 9 on it.
I was wondering if i can have wmp 10 on my phone like
Audiovox SMT5600, dopod 565 and 575.
I' ve asked Qtek service in Greece and they said that they don't
know when they are going to release the firmware that has
wmp 10.
So, does anybody know if this is possible?
Maybe a hack on Qtek rom?
Thanks a lot!
Manos!
See the thread about this in the Blue Angel Upgrading section
also Qtek 8020 is not a pda it's a smartphone they cant use programs compiled for pda's as they use a different type of cpu
There are no ROM tools that work with smartphone ROM images. So you cannot cook ROMs yourself.

Upgrade T-mobile MDA2 WM2003 -> WM2005

Hello! I have a pocket PC “T Mobile MDA II” with Windows Mobile 2003 installed. T Mobile support service has told me my pocket PC would not work with Windows Mobile 2005 but they say contrary things in the net. I’d like to find Russian or English Windows Mobile 2005 to check it. My pocket PC has following features:
ROM version 1.72.00WWE
ROM date 03/15/04
Radio version 1.17.00
Protocol version 1337.28
ExtROM version 1.72.901
CPU Itel PXA263
Speed 400MHz
RAM size 128 Mb
Flash size 32Mb
Flash chip type 28F1128K3
Data bus 32 Bit
Storage size 14.57 Mb
Mobel No PH10A
Microsoft Pocet PC Version 4.20 (build 14053) (support English and Russia Language)
Thank you in advance, I’ll be very much obligeв for any help.

Sasha,
Your T-mobile MDA II is the same as an HTC Himalaya (see http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Himalaya), not an HTC Magician. Ur in the right forum, though arguably you'd have been better to post your question in the WM5 Himalaya forum anyway....
There are a fair few WM5 ROMs for the Himalaya available, the latest of which is:-

The same thread is here:

where can i find the wm5 for wallaby

can any budy post the wm5 download link
there is no 2005 for wallaby
why it is impossible to have WM5 in XDAI?
XDAI have at least 32mb ROM, too. Why? :?
Somebody tell me plz?
roms are made 100% for a device
it's not like windows on a pc which have all known drivers
roms have only the stuff made for the device
so unless a wm2005 rom is leaked for wallay
like they were for himalaya and blue angel
it's impossible
wallaby's memory is to less for wm2005. there must be at least 64mb of flash-rom better 128mb like the new ppc's and smartphones have. and what rudegar said is still true: no wm2005 wallaby specific hardware drivers available = no wallaby wm2005 rom.

peter
