Hi to all!
I`m new in this forum and ba world.
Last week purchased spv m2000 with wm2003se and simlock. After reading wiki I unlocked SIM, unhided an unlocked EXTRom , resized DOC and upgraded to latest radio rom and wm6 (thx Helmi for great job).
I did also some set up things in wm6, for example password (something like - "if device is unsed for 30 min. you must insert password") same as my PIN.
My battery after whole day of exploring new features and programs became week (10% - you may loss your data..., etc) and I decided to push power button and replace with another one. But I forget that other one is also week (5%). After soft reset and booting wm6 asked me for a password to unlock system - and I was surprised coz wm6 told that password is incorrect - apparently lost all my settings.
Hard reset and boot options helped with sweeping whole system. So I must now install again all programs and patches.
I don`t know if this is normal wm6 behaviour (I`ve read wm6 is data lost proof - this feater was major cause of upgradind) or I did something wrong with switching batteries.
Best regards
I do confirm this problem.
If unlock password was set, after you changed the battery,in the first boot the phone would be No radio,so you should reset it again. Then the problem came, all the password you typed was incorrect, you could not get into the desktop.
Even after you hv hard reset your phone. You will also need to clean the registry, that is incredible.
Can any one figure out it?
It is a serious problem.
Same problem
I have just the same problem that with my PDA2k. I upgraded to WM6 and put in a Phone Password. When I came to reboot the device and enter the password, it was not recognizing it ( tried to hard reset etc but still got stuck on the Password screen no matter what I do?
Any help on this pls pls?????
thanks

Trinity P3600 have this problem too
Hello, I just got the same trouble on WM6 Trinity P3600 (AXL ROM from 2007-08-30). So possibly this is common DOPOD ROM bug?
Also have the same problem with XDA IIs. Tried to reload the new ROM but the enter password is still there. Any other solution?

Thanks it worked perfectly
100 points !!!!
this is called hard reset it wipes all of your installed software and settings. it is like freshly installed windows
Dear Xplode , what on earth is the reason behind the blocked password and reseted clock if u remove the battery ? ( backup batter working ). Another question , any idea if i can use a 3rd party application replacement for the Lock application ?
Karim.
prophet upgraded with wm6 hv this problem too
One easy tip
Before you replace the battery, turn off security lock on device. Works for me and is not too.... much hassle.

As far as we noticed, Wm6 has a terrible bug. Locked device with a password wont be recognized if battery was removed. Also it resets the clock. I believe there is a solution for the password thing. here's what i've done
1- Download and install this cab file Omega-Pass : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OTW2NZT6 ( A password application that is gonna be used )
2- Go to the application and set the Password- Now the builtin lock application will take the settings from Omega-Pass .
3- youll notice that Windows Lock will require a password as if set as alphanumeric
4- Go back to the Built-in Lock Application and reset the password u want if u need a numerical form Only.
I think also u can just install the application and go directly to the builtin lock application and configure it but didnt try that. Dont wanna risk it i already had 4 hard reset
Now if you do all 4 steps even if u remove the battery for an hours , it will keep recognizing your password. The clock will be reset only. That worked for me .
Please inform me if it works for you also.

well it may work but i just dont use password lock so ... it is useless to me, but this software does not fix the bug only prevents it from happening
Yes of course it interacts with the Builtin Lock code. if we can know how it's preventing it from happening maybe we can fix it ?
i am not so sure where exactly the bug is, but backup battery is only enabled when the main battery is depleted... but when you remove the main battery the power needed for preserving the basic information like time, date, lock password is not transferred from backup battery maybe this is power management or driver bug, and i have seen this in WM5 too
Buth at this time this problem is not yet solved
The thing i dnt understand is that WM6 devices Dont have a Backup battery as i saw on a HTC Touch device. So is it that BA is not 100% compatible with Wm6 ? or it's just a bug with all wm6 devices ?
well I tried, it seem working. for my case, I didn't need to remove the battery to have the problem, after a simple soft reset (after a reconfiguration with the advance reconfiguration tool), the password was lost.
So I do not know if i will have the problem again .
hope not
how did you get in your BA once the password is lost?
i just got my BA and installed WM6...
im down at my 20mins per retry...
Once the password is forgotten , You gotta hard-reset it. This solution only prevent it from being forgotten and cannot restore it.
What is original pass for that device?
Solution
Hi Guys..
The only way to skip this password screen taht i found was it:
Do a HARD hard reset (All data will be lost).
just soft reset first your device, than after you see the stripped screen, press the record and camera button quickly before the the version appears (radio,etc).. then you will see the three options..
enable kitl should be no
clean registry hive should be yes
format storage should be yes
to choose just use the camera and record to change the options...
No more..
I hope that it help.
Help!!!

I press reset and do the above but all I got is a screen normally u see when you do rom upgrade...Please give me advise how to hard reset.
thanks

Hi Haile...
Did you these steps correct???
After you press the reset button with the stylus, immediately press and hold the record and camera buttons.
It should work.
No more.
wat i did when i experienced the password not accepted thingy was, when i did the hard reset, we needed to follow the "no, yes, yes" sequence. what i did was not choose yes on the option where it asked to reformat rom(i forgot what was written on the display). i think i chose "no,yes,no". after that, everything was still there and the password on startup was gone. hope this helps to some of u guys.
thank a lot

If the device is locked, when the device is locked how can you download and install something...? Please somebody tell this clown that a device locked on password on WM6 ,you cannot access the phone whatsoever at all, WMDC will ask you to "autenticate" on the phone if you want connection...
The guy who gives this solution hasnt got a clue just as much Bill Gates hasnt.
yesss
yes it worked on mine this way as well.
Obviously the correct password wouldnt work...
Id like to see that billionaire giving some appologies for that....
Anyway mind this first;
Press and keep holding Camera and Record buttons .
Press reset in the same time
Keep holding Camera and Record another 2 more seconds .
Using the same two buttons do the No-yes-yes then
Attention ress just "OK" . pressing reset wont work.
IK does unlock .it just did my HTC .
Hi all,
I recently applied the WM6 upgrade http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=372485 to my PDA.
However, I removed the battery so I could take out the SIM card, and now it won't accept my PIN anymore. It seems like the registry has become corrupt and does not recognise the PIN anymore.
I can't get into the phone, and a hard reset does not work (I know how it's done, unfortunately). I have also let the battery drain completely (including backup), and it does not hard reset the phone.
What can I do? Are there any tools that can wipe the device through USB?
Thanks!
Problem Solved: Flashed device with provider's original ROM upgrade.. I see this is an issue with WM6
have you perform the hard resett this way ?
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BlueAngel_WM5_For_Beginners
Cool, thanks for that. Should help for the next time
Have to disable this Corporate PIN policy now..
Hi!
Please someone can help me?
I have a O2 XDA Exec with a SDHC 8GB...
I'm the second or third user that own this device. Because this, I don't know about roms upgrades with precision, but it's running WM5.
All was work fine... But some days ago, it was stopping in a black screen when I perform a simple soft reset...
I tryed remove the battery, all the cards (include the simcard), but the problem still there...
I tryed a hard reset, but the problem still there...
I tryed all that I know, but the problem still there again...
Trouble details:
The O2 XDA Exec aleatory freeze in a black screen after soft reset.
I persists pressing Reset key with some seconds intervals, untill it (aleatory) turn on the screen and load WM5.
The Bootloader and the HardReset screens comes normaly when calleds.
When I perform a hardreset, immediatly happen an freeze without the new system never was loaded before.
I disassembly the device and test the RESET key... there is no problem.
My big suspect is something corrupt in device's bootloader or other "BIOS" program.
I use many PDAs for a long time (8 years ago), but never see nothing like that...
Seed someone something like this before?
How can I solve this problem?
Can someone help me please?
Thanks a lot.
P.S.lease, excuse my poor english...

Hi All,
Got me a P3400i a few days ago, and tried the usual trick of hard reset, followed by soft reset to get a clean vanilla WM6 setup, without all the HTC Custom stuff, but the phone just goes back to the main screen with "Tap here to setup your Windows Mobile device"
Have any of you encountered this as well?
Is there any other sequence to be followed to get RID of all the HTC stuff in the extROM?

I think improper extROM setup may cause a bad battery drain
SOLVED
Sorry, my bad....
It seems I had to do the soft reset before the customisation started. Its working fine now
Hard-resetting...... how?
I have tried pressing the reset button time and again but of no use. Problem is, my messaging option just doesn't appear. I mean, it's there, but when clicked, doesn't activate. Please help. It's been about a month since I bought the HTC p3400i
If your phone is patched or if you are ready to patch it (thus loosing your warranty), you can always get a custom rom with smaller, empty extrom. Or if you like to have the original ROM, get the original WM 6 ROM from this forum and the tool HTC ROM Image Editor, remove extrom.nb from the ROM and inject the 4 MB, empty version of extrom into it. YOu can get it by requesting any of the chefs here, including me
OK heres my situation:
i upgraded from the stock o2 wm2003 to wm6 using the wiki ROM:
Helmi Windows Mobile 6 Profesional R0
CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)
now on bootup it says
R:none
G:none
D:5.60.00 WE
It boots up fine but....
i cant get any reception.- just says "no service"
i have also tried disabling and re-enabling "Phone" in com manager
Yes, i have done a soft reset, hard reset and ive tried XPLODE wm6.5 and my current wm6 ROM.
XDA unlock all reported a successful unlock.
HELP!!!
OK, i did the thing in the ROM post said:
"R None if you take out battery and turn it on without push the reset button twice.
SDK?"
and it works now but when i turn it on i have to press the reset button twice every time
can someone help?
first of all you must unlock sim under WM 2003, then remove the extrom of 2003 to gain adidional 16 mb of storage (resize DOC), then you must upgrade to radio version 1.15 and then you must try any WM5, 6, 6.1, 6.5 rom
so now flash your shipped rom, you may find preferred rom for your operator in my signature, then start everything from the beginning
ok, it has kinda settled down now, working as normal.
I have "unlock sim under WM 2003, then remove the extrom of 2003 to gain adidional 16 mb of storage (resize DOC)"
If i wanted to upgrade my radio version would i have to flash the ROM again?
no you can flash radio rom only without the OS
Jejeje
Hey Xplode i never was able to see that tools like unlock extrom and repart DOC works on my BA... it always shows an error! when i execute the unhide hide repart etc etc.. so I upgrade even tought jajaja.
they only work on WM 2003

are you sure xplode, cause i unlock my phone using the tools from the BA wiki and im using wm6.5.
ok,
i upgraded my radio to 1.15.....
but i still got the problem
none
I get this on my wm6.1 but normally gets sorted after a soft reset
HMM!!!!
Same problem, after updating from stock WM2003 to WM6.1PRO all steps done like the wiki steps except the ExtRom step, couldnt get the unhide, unlock program to run (missing file or libraries error), so i flashed sun's WM6.1PRO without the extra storage, now when i change the battery i get the NO radio bootloader, still im able to fix it by doing a soft reset, but the strangest thing is that im not able to use the wifi :/. So the thing is, when i turn on without the radio i can use the wifi, but no the phone(airplane mode), and when i do a soft reset, the radio shows and i can use the phone but the wifi doesnt turn on at all!. Any help please, dont make me choose betwen my phone and my wifi
PD: is not only the radio missing the i change the battery, also R:none G:none
I have a Qtek9090
very odd ,i can use my wifi when the phone is on.
But i went from wm2003 to wm6.5 to wm6
wierd....
so, is there a solution? I've got the same problem
Ops! Solved. Do a soft reset via the button.
(I always do a softreset via unlocking the battery and locking it again)
Every one here should know that there is no WM 6 for BlueAngel by microsoft. it is ported on BA by helmi_c and that >> R none and G none << Bug is in WM 6 from very first day. SO Whenever u pull the battery out u need to SOFT Reset the device after putting the battery on phone.(u need to wait to start the phone to reset, just put the battery and insert the stylus at reset point.)
there is no point discussing about this anymore. thread should be closed.
i have the solution about this problem, im recovery from it.
first of all, downgrade ur ba tu ship rom, and go back to upgrade 6,5 rom, after finis doit "WM5" hardreset.... search the way in wiki.
wala........its done and run normal r;none g;none not see again. have try it
This is an old problem... Rnone Gnone
solved by sticking your soft reset button after changing battery or a hard reset.
The Wifi-Phone problem is solved by buying a new battery. The Wifi module wont fireup because of the lack in power draw since the phone is using much of it.
Buying a new battery solves plenty of problem. even OS speedup because it solves the lag the "modules" (e.g camera/lan/phone/mmc) detection gives while in bootup or execution.
If you still have problems. We can always point to the wiki.
Have a nice day!
