WiFi problem :(

Hey, i have a problem with wifi ... its already showing that its connected to wifi router.. but the internet not working i had this problem from weeks ! .. till now cant find the way to fix it ! ... what do u think ? is there any apps can let the wifi work perfectly with internet ? .. or is there anyway to get back the internet ? .. i dunno its just showing that already connected to my wirless but no net ...

This problem can not be answered with the information you gave us, for the problem might well be the network you attempt to connect to. If for some reason your router only allows local access, you will be able to connect, without being able to reach the internet.
First try disabling all security on your router (including mac-filter!) and attempt a connection. If it doesn't fly from there, give us some more info. (What kind of router, phone firmware etc.)

i checked everything .. and my laptop works perfect with wifi 100% ! , but my xperia still doesnt work and also i restarted my router .. so here's the information about my router ..

From the looks of it, your settings aren't "flawed" (to any extent you can speak of flawed anyway).
I meant disabling the security as a temporary test. If disabling allows you to connect, the problem lies there.
Also something that might help is changing the channel you're on.
If that doesn't help, update your router's firmware.
Finally, try connecting to another network with your X1, if that does work, the problem lies in compatibility (most often resolved with firmware updates for your router).

mstx while you are at it also test the following:
1. are the proxy settings on the phone correct? normally they should be empty
2. can you connect fine with the phone from activesync from the laptop
3. are your ip settings correct? some networks requires them to be static (you manually set the correct ip, subnet,gateway) instead of dynamic (from the dhcp server)?
4. when you connect to the wifi network it should ask you to select internet or work. select internet.

Heeey , i fixed it !.. now its work perfect !! ... well, the problem was in the xperia my wifi connection setting, the wifi setting was "connect to WORK" .. so I changed it "connect to THE INTERNET" .. and it works ...

WiFi Channels

Hi.
I just found out my Nexus One cant find my access point if it uses channel 13. I bought my Nexus One in UK.
I know the US disallows channels 12->14 but since it was bought from UK channel 13 should be working!

Check Settings / Wireless & Network settings / Wi-Fi Settings / (press menu button) / Advanced / Regulatory domain.
Select 11, 13 or 14 channels.

Have you tried going to Settings -> Wireless Controls -> Wifi Settings -> (press menu) Advanced -> Regulatory Domain and setting it to 13 or 14 channels?
EDIT: Damn it! Should have reloaded the page before answering.

I notised that they removed the "Regulatory domain" option in the patch.. and my WiFi is VERY slow..
I get a connection of 5mbps sitting 5meters from my AP. It was not this bad before the patch.

Same for me I applied the patch this morning.
I don't have the regulatory domain anymore and still can't see the wifi of my house.

Wireless N Froyo

Hi ,
i dont know if this requires a new topic, but havent seen much on this. but has anyone been able to connect to wireless N Speed with Froyo?? i check my router stats and it still says my nexus is connected to G at 54mbps.. I have a Mac that connects fine to it in N Mode. anybody else been able to connect at those speeds?? or was this not included in the froyo update??

Well I have connected as N and speed 65mbps...but then again I had that already in 2.1.
If I look in my d-link dir-655, it says that I'm using N-version in both android versions.
I tried with speed test I came up to downlink 16.44mbps uplink 4.24mbps with 2.2 and with 2.1 max speed was down 18.92mbps and up 2.21mbps.

hmmm... is there a specific channel ur using maybe? :S
im using a Dlink DIR -615.. its only a 2.4ghz, no the 5ghz N'

[Q] problems connecting to router using Wi-Fi

I have an Indian Tablet called penta T-pad, and I have problems connecting with Tp-link Td-W8901G router. The First one is that the tablet doesn't connect instantly to the router using Wi-Fi . it shows in the Wi-Fi network list that the Wi-Fi access point is "saved, secured with WAP/WAP2", And it doesn't connect until I tried several times and when it connected (this is the second problem) it sometimes doesn't send or receive and data. And I have tried resetting the tablet and the router and changing the broadcast channels and use static IP... But, this doesn't work.
By the way, other devices (smart phones, laptops...) can connect to the router without problems, and my tablet was working well during the last six months connecting to the same router. And now, it can connect to other routers or access points (i.e. portable Wi-Fi hotspot).

You mentioned you are using WAP/WAP2 for security, but have you entered the password or entered it correctly?
Does your router have the ability to add users?
If so, then activate this option and enter the MAC for every device you need to grant access through.

No other information on actual WiFi setups were able to be located. I wish I could be of more assistance.

Hi I have very similar problems with my devices!
I noticed it is extremely popular problem being discussed everywhere, but no general solution is ready yet, neither straight way of diagnostic...
Only some particular solutions sometimes appear, but they are for particular cases, usually involving deep and accurate adjustment and "pairing" of gadget and equipment.
It would be good to know any general tips like where to look for any info about the wifi connecting process, what are the possible reasons to fail to connect when the signal is high, wifi is visible, password is 100% correct, etc.
Perhaps we can find the log of wifi connecting process, switch it to debug mode, show to experts?
Please, experts, we are all waiting for your replies!

Wi-Fi Channel 14 on A5 2016

Hi,
My Wireless router supports channel 1-14 for b/g/n standards , but when I choose channel 14 on my modem, my Phone is unable to see the network. I am sure it is working fine because my laptop can connect to my modem and use the internet.
does anyone know any methods to enable channel 14 on Galaxy A5?
