Hiya guys i have a o2 xda exec but about 2 months ago there was a fault with the usb port broke so i could not charge or sync with the computer so i bought a exturnal battery charger and only today managed to get it fully charged for the first time is there a way of updating to wm6 via the sd slot of the device as i got a 2gb sd and a 4gb sd card
also just to add tried extracking the installation exe and put on memory card , booted the wm5 then used file explorer to access memory card then tapped enterbl.exe it rebooted into boot loader but also now is stuck tried using the http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...rsal_Technical tried all key combinations any help realy appreachiated

i'm just gonna get a new one i cannot be bothered to get the usb fixed it would cost 300 for a new motherboard and so i have decided to get a bnib (for noobs Brand New In Box)

I managed to pickup a JAMin to replace my aging O2 XDAII Mini. (*I wanted WiFi)
But on setting up everything again, the SD slot has junked out on me in around 2 hours of usage from new!
Ive got 2 cards - SanDisk 2GB Ultra II & Lexar 256Meg - both of which worked for the 1st test, now both are not recognized by the phone.
My SD reader on the computer says and plays them fine. - In the ABOUT of the phone it says that the "EXPANSION SLOT" is not in use with any card installed.
I've tried firmwares:
1. RUU_Prophet_2151327_21513121_021921_DOP_ASIA_WWE_Ship-NoVendorID
2. JAMin_WWE_2130923_21309112_020720_ship
3. JAMin_WWE_213923_2139123_022021_ship
.....With no luck....infact Im stuck on the RUU one now with the NBF file error now! and still no SD able to be read in the phone!
PLEASE give me guidence before this becomes many...many...MANY bits of plastic!!! :evil: :evil:

Try reformating your SD card in the PC card reader. It will erase all data, so back it up, but it might work.

But the SD's work fine in my Magician and my SD reader.
I've tried that though...just in case.

I've found a Telstra patch on the iMATE site in AU....and strangely it started to work for a bit.
It now will lock up for no reason and black screen.
Soft-reset will work, and I got to watch/try out things on it!!! YAYAYA!
Then 10 mins into watching a .avi show it froze and now will no longer see any SD's again.

In order to get a repair I think I should downgrade its OS/firmware to the original imate versions. (The current one is a DOPOD).
But it gives me the ERROR [296] : UPGRADE ONLY
This NBF file cannot be used for your PDA Phone. Please get newer NBF file.
How do you downgrade the OS/Firmware versions?

You'll be stuck in RUU (or DOPOD) ROM cause is 2.15.13.27 and it's newer than iMATE 2.13.09 you can't downgrade if you have uoyr PDA CID locked. You've have to upgrade to a ROM like the DOPOD one that you have or to one with upper number i.e. 2.15.14.00 but no to an older one.
While putting some music onto my memory card i noticed that it was showing that there was only about 100 mb of space left when there should have been 5-6 GB. This was showing both on the phone and on my laptop when i plugged it in with the usb cable.
I took the card out and put it back in again and did a soft reset but now it just says "not installed" in the memory bit in settings and i cant access anything on the card.
Ive tried a different memory card and a few soft resets but it still wont recognise that theres a card inserted. Can anyone help me with this?

i had the same problem with my HD but it happened when i was downloading to the phone( a problem quiet a few others have had too) my HD just wont recognize the card, nor will my pc now, i think the hD has corrrupted the card, i have got another card and it is working fine, this is a known problem with the HD/card, give your phone provider a call as it is covered under warrenty
I tried a 4 GB card from my old n95 but it was no different.
And i bought the phone on ebay so i cant go back to the service provider. Doh!!

Did you flash your ROM in the near past?

The ROM version is 1.14.405.3 (22273) WWE so its a standard ROM. Like i said i tried another card and that wasnt recognised by the phone or by my computer via usb so could it be a hardware problem? Ill try emailing HTC and see if they can help
Well the memory cards back but its showing i only have 0.3mb of space left and when i plugged it into my computer via active sync a services.exe error message came up on the phone

as mentioned in the thread I gave to you, try to backup your data of the card and format it (fat32, 32 kb cluster) then restore your data. ready

think my phones knackered but just thought i'd check wi u pro's 1st,tried putting android onto the hd2 but ive just not got the skills,too long in the tooth as they say.i managed to put MAGLDR V1.13 on,hspl 2.08 radio 2.15.i partitioned the sd card 1024 as was suggested but i cant root the sd card think its something to do with the usb connection wont work with the sync,i put the micro sd card into the sd slot on my lappy and put the zip file onto the sd card but then the hd2 says no files are present.so after 2 days of messing/playing around ive given in and decided to put another rom back on but that wont even work,tried going back to my origional one elegancia gtx,progress bar doesnt move from 0%,tried another and the same so i think im stuck with a broke phone.unless anyones got any ideas.what i cant understand is why theres no active sync,i deleted program and re installed but still the same.
any help will be appreciated but i think my tinkering has broken it.

So to check out wp7 on my hd 2, i put a new 2gb micro sd, wipe with task 29, installed magldr, installed xbox mod sp1 rom, used it for two days, synced with zune, installed reg tweeks on windows ultimate so that my hd2 is shown as a drive, copied some stuffs, etc..
Now i tried to install htc oem app cab through cab sender, successfully done, to use it, i reset my device from the about menu of wp7, rebooted, after the windows phone boot anim, it got nothing, other than the 4 dots moving all the time, i then removed the sd card, then reboted, this time, it boot up fully, but when ever i use the card, it will stuck on boot. So i put card on my comp using card reader, but windows cant formatt it, when i use mini partition tool, it says the disk is bad, i cant formatt the card any more, not with android recovery menu or wp7 or android, i tried to clear mbr sector from mag ldr service, it wont make things right.
I put card in some other nokia, samsung phonez, non have detected it. I am sure the card is not locked, as its a new one. Also was working for two days as i synced some music etc with zune.
Does this happened due to wp7 or the card is just dead? If it is due to wp7 how can i correct it???

Tried every thing, psp 1000, nokia c5, china mp4, cybershot camera, samsung phones, nokia phones. Nothing detects the card. My last hope is sd unlocker, which is a device( yap straight from china thats why we say - GOD CREATED MAN, THE REST IS MADE IN CHINA) used to unlock any sd which is locked, the device is just as small as a card reader, and dont even require any computer, if u have comp, u can use usb to power it, if u dont have comp u can use 9v pp3 batt to power it. Put the card in it, an led indicator blinks( ho it must be calculating 512bit aes encription!!!!) After 1-2 min it will stop blinking. And ur free to go.. the card will be unlocked.
The only draw back is the card will get formatted if u use it.
And i am sure if it cant do it, i will safely place the card in dust bin. Thank god i never went for my 8gb card to try wp7.
Wp7 owners must use this china dev... its an inevitable device 4 u guys..

i recently flashed thors 1.7 touch recovery and when i rebooted my sd card wouldnt mount so i tried inserting it into my computer and my computer would not recognize my sd card either does anyone know how i can fix this its a 16gb sd card and I'm not trying to spend another 40$ for another one but I am thinking this one is toast.....any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!
As far as I know, there is no way to recover them. Once they are dead, they are gone. You can find the 16gb ones now for under $20 though.

You could try reformatting it. If that doesn't work, it's most likely dead.

if its a cheap card you might be lost.. i buy pny cards they have a lifetime warranty.. I Think the reason they do this is because i have NEVER EVER had a bad one from them. They are a cheaper memory provider that is often over looked for there superior quality.. Of course some other brands are backed just as well..
If your tab phone or computer will not read it . well i do not think anyone can help you.

Yea its a 16 gb sandisk and I can't get it read in anything so I just went out and bought a new one but o well
Try Reformatting it through CWM recovery, then see if it mounts.

I don't know if that will work cause when I have it in my tablet and I go to install flash from zip there is nothing to choose from but I can give it a go but I doubt it will work I'll post back and let you know

I have been able to recover photos from a corrupted SD card using the free version of this tool from Zero Assumption Recovery. Worth a try before you reformat.
My SD card was corrupted recently after my phone rebooted. All my photos and important data were recovered successfully after using TestDisk (developed by Christophe Grenier).
After recovering my files onto my laptop, I reformatted the SD card. I did it because the recovery process undeleted useless files.
Just do a Wiki search for TestDisk.
Note: As I am a newbie I'm not permitted to post the link.

I've never ever had such a bad experience but I really don't think that the card is dead unless you pushed it hard and crack the chip.If you use a windows PC ,once you plug the card (make sure it is properly placed into the micro sd adapter) then nothing happens ,as you say (it could be auto mount turned off ) press the windows key + R and type diskmgmt.msc.
This will open the disk manager of windows OS and you will be able to see all attached devices e,g HDD partitions ,USB thumb drives ,sd card and so on.If it s still not visible try to plug the card reader into another USB port.As a rule windows always informs you once you plug any USB device.If the device is not responding it gives an error

Not always true... I had an sd card that just died... Neither Android, linux or windows pc recognised it... Windows recognised the sd card reader was attached but "was empty, attach an sd card"... 16Gb card to be tossed...
If the card is truly unmountable/unreadable and you really need to get data off of it, you could also try the service at recoverfab.com . They start where most free data rescue and formatting software can no longer help.

I tried using all kinds of different zero assumption recovery software and sd card repair software but with no look. I thought I wouldn't be able to retrieve any of the pictures I had on my sd card. That is until I found a company called recoverfab.com, they've been able to restore the majority of the files I thought I'd lost forever. I would certainly recommend them to anyone who desperately needs files recovering from an sd card.
My SD Card had the same problem and this, all of a sudden it was unreadable! I tried every method under the sun including trying to access it through an arduino and using SPI which is the alternative way of communicating with the device. I found a company called RecoverFab who said they could read the data from the memory chip even if the erst of the card was dead! So in a last ditch attempt I sent it over to them and the day after they received it I got an email and they had recovered 100% of everything on the SD card! I have never been so happy as it was all the photos from my girlfriends 21st! Superb communication and service!
