Downgrading & Upgarding ?? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I have intalled a new rom on my wizard
but before I did that I upgraded to the new t-mobile rom before upgrading to the new one
and now i want to put the cingular rom and then upgrade to the other rom
what should I do to downgrade
my wizard is sim and cid unlocked
can any one please post any directions please and also the cingular rom
thanks

I believe you can get the cingular ROM on HTC's web site. If you're already CID unlocked then all you have to is download it and flash it.

??
So I dont have to downgrade it anymore??

unable to upgrade ROM on my AT&T SX56

I cooked a ROM (3.17) from yorch but it tells "can't find rom image" so i cooked another using the 4.00.05 ROM which was succesful except it didn't ask to unlock my device. Any ideas? Please help.[/b]
WM2003 roms do not unlock the xda, why dont you download the developers se rom then once its unlocked you can upgrade from there.
Success!!!
Thanks for the tip but it was easier than i thought. Here's how i did it. The instructions i read said after installing the 3.17 ROM it will ask if you want it unlocked however, in my case that wasn't so. I download and install the XDA tool and WALLA!!! it's unlocked. Then i upgraded to WM2003.

MDA Vario ROM

Hi guys
Just a quick question and I hope you guys can answer me.
I have got the MDA Vario with T-Mobile and have upgraded the ROM to 2.17.7.2 WWE (this is the Qtek Rom) and it works just great.
My question is, however, can I downgrade this ROM to the original T-Mobile ROM it came with?
I am wondering since I want to send the phone back to T-Mobile but am worried if they see I have upgraded it they will not take it back.
Please help.
Thanks kindly
You'll need to use lokiwiz to unlock the device and then reinstall the opriginal ROM. As you have an AKU2 ROM you'll need to downgrade the ROm first to an old custom QTEk ROM and then run lokiwiz to unlock then re-install the ROM. There s along post on this forum or the upgrade forum on how to do this. There are alos posts re putting the device back into it's original state if you need to ship it back to a vendor - can't find them just now but would suggest you trawl the forums... painful though it may be
Hey thanks loads. I have looked around to try and find how to restore everything but can't find it yet. I'll carry on looking but if you can suddenly remember where they are I'd appreciate it
Also, do I have to downgrade the QTek ROM first, or can I just install the T-Mobile ROM straight away?
Thanks again

Does it matter that the link above looks like it is for US? I have UK T-Mobile
DaveyG th solution is explained at http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...IBwAAABi/2UG&bcsi_scan_filename=viewtopic.php
If you want a TMo UK ROM got ot the TMo UK Site http://t-mobile.iris-global.com/mdas.html
Thanks JoninLA, the phone is unlocked using Loki already as that is how I upgraded the ROM, but I will make sure I have unlocked it and then install the original ROM from the T-Mobile site.
Thanks so much again, now I should be able to send it back, providing it all works...

Updating the ROM

I have just got a mda wizard vario and just wondering what is the best rom to update to, i have sim unlocked it but to update the rom i need to cid unlock it as well dont i thanks for your help.
yes you need to cid unlock ...best rom... latest i-mate one.

how to put back CID lock

Hi everyone,
I have an mda vario which has to be send in for waranty, so i want to put back my CID lock. How do I do this. I have the cid backup file.
grt,
Ruben
You can restore cid by restoring the lock_backup.bin file that was created during the unlock process.
to do that see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...postorder=asc&highlight=cid+locking&start=400
look for britman's post.
ok but i now have tmobile aku 2 rom flashed, is this a problem? or can i put the cid back even with the aku2 rom?
i think you would need to downgrade as lokiwiz CID only works with v1 ROMs, and not v2.
will this rom do the trick?1030710_110_10410_Qtek_NLD_Ship
And how do i then upgrade from the qtek rom to the new aku2 tmobile rom. Beceause then i have my CID back in the machine. So it won't allow me to update from qtek to tmobile.
grt,
Ruben
Need to upgrade to the stock t-mobile rom ftp://xda:[email protected]developers.co...RUU_Prodigy_1060204_105_11210_TMO_UK_Ship.exe
first and then cid lock and then upgrade to aku2 rom. (if you have already locked it you will need to unlock again)
But surely it did not come with aku2 rom when you bought it as it is only just released.
I did above steps, but it only put back the simlock, not cid lock beceause i could update to qtek without problems so i gues cid was not put back
Just some experience. I sent my unit back to HTC Europe without CID-lock, and it went through without problems.

Help Me Flash !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just recently got my 8125 and i use the button rom and ipl is 1.01 & spl 1.01
and also it is sim and cid unlocked
I was wondering if you had to install t-mobiles 2.26 rom or can i just install any other wm6 custome rom.
or install t-mobiles rom then any wm6 cooked rom?
and can anyone here give me some instructions
ive been thinking the same ive got a g4 device and dont know if i should flash 2 this rom before i step up 2 wm6 or if i can do it direct from the a2uk rom from the uk 02
any pointers guys would b great.
Yes, you need to upgrade to the t-mobile 2.26 rom (or any other updated ROM of 2.xx or higher). Most, if not all, of the WM6 ROMs on here do not include an IPL/SPL upgrade and WM6 will not work without and IPL/SPL of at least 2.xx.
