I have a 8125 with custome wm6
and cid and sim unlocked
at the top there is a triangle that means roaming but
it was the same t-mobile sim that i had on my t-mobile razr and dint say that on that phone any ideas why or howto take it off??
Reg Edit
Yeah I have had the same problem with my 8125 thinking I'm roaming when I'm not. Try this reg fix to get rid of the triangle:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\DisableRoamingIndicator
Change value to 1
Hope that helps.
???
Sorry
but I dont really get your directions
Install this CAB to remove the roaming indicator
Thanks you !!!!
Ok thanks for the cab
but there one problem every time I install it, it does take off the roaming triangle but
when i go to my call log it shows the number but the pictures at the left were it said if it was incoming or outgoing are erases those pictures and when i try installing the phone pad it shows the roaming triangle againg so i cat have both
It's a recent T-Mobile problem which seems to only affect HTC (MDA) devices...

This happens to me after switching the telefon mode from off to on. the phone itself needs some time until its "ready for use".
Another possible issue is one using a 3G sim card in a 2G phone. has happened to me with a prophet. Changed to an old sim card and it worked perfectly. Try changing the sim card to a known 2G and see what happens.
Just switched off the phone in the comm manager (it is an option available to facilitate the PDA usage during the flight journey).
Now my phone is fine and working.
Thanks,
Jakob
Phone not ready
Hi all......
Im a first time poster.....
I have an Imate Jasjam.....
I recently upgraded the ROM and ever since, i keep getting the phone not ready and no matter what i have read in these posts i cant get it to work.....
I have even gone as far as starting over from the original ROM and now the original ROM shows the same problem.
Its really annoying not beingn able to reply to msgs im getting and even worse, not being able to modify the setting in my phone to disable call forwarding to my voicemail.
I have the FCW Home HD ROM installed and have tried upgrading the radio, but fail everytime.... im guessin im using th ewrong one so if anyone knows an up to date radio i can install it would be good....
Please help !
I think you are posting in the ROM forum. Are you sure you have a Charmer cause I don't know the ROM you tell us.
I have just got an o2 mini s (HTC Wizard) from work. When trying to use my Orange sim card in it the phone will boot and I can make/receive normal calls.
When trying to send SMS or change the Phone settings I get the message: "Phone is not ready please wait 15 seconds" continually.
Does this indicate that the phone is locked to o2 or not and needs an unlock code - or anyone have any other ideas?
I have tried googling/searching for similar issues on Orange with the Wizard but there doesn't appear to be a clear answer.
Thanks.

No this does not indicate anything. I had this problem before.
Try this::
Go to comm manager and turn on flight mode and then turn it right back off. Wait untill your phone re-acquires a signal and then try sending a text again.
Dan
That does not seem to clear it.

Hmmm. That worked for me. Try using lokiwiz ver.02b to sim unlock the device and then look for network wizard to configure the network settings to your new carrier.
orange SMS problem
did you ever get your problem sorted ??? I have exactly the same problem with my T Mobile Vario, unlocked and working fine for calls on Orange SIM, but same mesage as you are getting for texts. Geoff
same problem here
all sorted just load a new radio rom the faria one from here ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Radio_Roms/ wait about 10 to 15 minutes and the system will update its self and say that the settings are not correct for the service provider. Hit update settings and all working. Can now use waht ever rom i want as well.
Was given a SPV M700 with WM6 (Rom version 2.0.8.1), GPS and WiFi working great but not the phone - cannot get a connection and I have tried different working Sim cards! Do I reflash with a new WM6 rom (which is recommended?) or just with a Radio Rom (current version 1.46.00.11) . Oh, I have checked the IMEI and that is not blocked. I don't mind having a go at reflashing as I also have a workiing HTC P3600. Never done this work so any help appreciated.
M700 not working
I have flashed the "phone" with a new radio rom but still getting the message that it cannot register to any of my selected networks. Next step, I guess, is to try a completely new rom. Any one got any ideas why the "phone" is not registering? **Update** Have tried two different 6.1 roms this morning and still can't get the phone to register with any networks????
Replying to myself, I know.. Latest situation is that latest Radio rom and decent WM 6.1 rom installed. I have inserted a Virgin Sim Card from another working phone and it shows a UMTS T-Mobile UK connection and even the 3G icon. However, when I try to dial out, it immediatly drops the line and if I try calling the phone I get the message that "calls are not currebtly being connected to ths number". ****Any clues****
is the virgin sim new have you used it before ie is it active?
and the phone is not set to flight mode silly i know but my girl put my phone in flight mode and it took me a few hours trying to find out why i was not able to make a call but i only had the phone a few days and did nt knw it had a flight mode.
if its not some thing like that then not sure what else to look at sorry cant be more help
Did the phone ever work? You mention that you got it, did it work for that person?
what provider did he use?
Is it locked?
did you try to cid unlock it?
My phone (Topaz 6.5) is running on Telus new UMTS network which is mainly a shared network with Bell. The sim card has two networks in it 302220 (Native Telus) and 302880 (Shared Bell/Telus). The nework I see when scanning for networks is 302880 but the phone always shows the roaming warning triangle.
I have been going through the forum trying to figure out the roaming warning issue without any luck. I have tried multiple tweaks to get rid of the warning like the reg tweak disableroamingindicator but nothing seems to work.
Any ideas on how to disable the warning or even better get the phone to accept that it is actually home.
Thanks!

i have the exact same problem. I haven't found a fix for it yet either...
Sony X1a
I signed up for Telus and have an x1a, I have the same problem. I did however get the LG IQ when I signed up. I was wondering If someone would help me dump the device and maybe there be a cab or we can find the settings to allow other windows mobile devices to show Telus as home.

Did this ever get solved?? I have the same problems on a Tilt 2.
Tilt 2
I still haven’t found anything; I keep searching the net with no success. I got an unlocked Tilt2 on eBay and when I put the TELUS sim card in it didn't show the roaming indicator, it also shows the proper name in the network settings "TELUS UMTS". Once I used Hard-SPL Unlocker for Rhodium and flashed a custom ROM the symbol showed up again. I'm not sure where it is located (Either ROM or radio) that the device things it's roaming.
Anybody else have any ideas?

So this is the exact same problem that I have with my Bell SIM. Any of the cooks got any ideas how we could solve this?
Just curious, does this actually harm any functionality at all? i.e. is it purely a cosmetic issue of the indicator itself appearing?

Most applications restrict data usage if they think the phone is roaming. We can disable this on a per-application basis but if the phone is ACTUALLY roaming then be ready for a very large bill.
Just to add it is just a real pain. And risky if you live near the border.
Same problem here in Austria... Would be very nice if we could find something
regarding this!
So any ideas who might be able to solve is it an HTC problem?
So still no solution on this issue? I am sure LG iQ (a winmo phone) doesn't think it's roaming while on TELUS network. Maybe somebody can pull registry info from it to help us resolve this problem?
It is really annoying as pretty much nothing works without confirming first regarding the roaming.
Tilt 2 Registry
I'm on Telus and have a Tilt2. The original ROM that came with the unit didn't show the roaming triangle. I have attached some screen captures of the ROM. I've attached a copy of the registry (Remove the .cab it was the only way I could get it to upload).
Hopefully somebody can find where the settings are located and hopefully it's contained in the registry.
I have an unlocked Tilt 2 that i bought on eBay. It also says it is roaming. Is it because of the Telus Native + Telus/Bell networks or is there something in the phone that thinks it must be roaming if it leaves AT&T's network?

It's something specific to Telus as these phones on a Rogers SIM do not indicate roaming.
NO since the home network is basically hardcoded into the software.(except OEM unbranded nexus or 1300$ iphone 3gs)
its pretty simple, its the os software that comes on the "carrier branded" software that hides the roaming triangle ie: the fido branded pearl, has no roaming, but the unlocked pearl, with a competitors software will show roaming, can't get any easier than that.
Rogers and Telus PLMN compared
I'm not sure if this will help,
I have attached a picture of the PLMN from a Rogers sim and a Telus sim
Maybe someone knows how to adjust the information on these lists.
Im running into the same problems. Rogers HTC Dream with a Telus SIM. Its not giving me data services though which I find frustrating because I am currently paying for them.
Hello I have recently unlocked my dads MDA Vario that was for T-Mobile and now I use it for AT&T as some might know T-Mobile stores MMS (multi media messaging) as Data on there plans but AT&T does it through texting charges. Does anyone know how to allow me to MMS on the phone? If this helps everytime I try to send one it tries to connect to T-Mobile's GPRS then has a pop up that it could not connect and then the message stops and just sits in my Outbox.
Help ASAP please that would greatly be aprechiated
_Johnny
cing_mms_settings.cab is what you need.
These others might be useful as well.
i have installed the cab and rebooted my device now what do i do i still cant insert things into a message

Okay, let's start at the beginning.
I assume you've SIM-unlocked your phone, so that it works on AT&T.
What ROM do you have? Is the phone G3 or G4?
What numbers are displayed when you first turn it on?
Do you have the MMS software? When you get into the text message application, and hit the menu key, is there an option for "MMS Options"?
If you have an old Windows Mobile 5 ROM, you might want to head over to the ROM development forum, use the sticky threads to guide you through burning a new ROM. Try one of those in my signature (Not the Kaiser ones, the wizard ones).
ok
yes i have a sim unlocked phone
it is G3
and no numbers are displayed because as of 1 hour ago i have windows mobile 6.5 from megawizard on my phone i am about to try the cab again
and no i do not have any mms software
thanks now that im on 6.5 the cabs worked thanks soooooooooooooooooooooo much
