WIFI not active on Tytn !! - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hi,
I have a problem with my Tytn. When I press the WIFI Icon on the Comm Manager appears the Windows ball but the Icon is ticked, and I'm not able to switch on the WIFI module.
Has anyone had the same problem? Really is very annoying because this unit has less than month.
Things that i did without success were: Hard reset, Install WM 6.
I really don't know if can be a registry problem. I noticed that problem after install Hubdog software.
Thanks if somebody can help me.
Next step will be send the unit to the Service Technical Assistance.
Regards

If you have the Touch or Kaiser Comm Manager please use a registry editor for the TyTN and check the following key:
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN\DeviceName
mine is:
{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}\TIACXWLN1
turning WLAN on/off in the Comm Manager is working for me.

Thanks for your comments.
Finally, I was not able to revieve the Wifi module and I sent my unit to the Technical Service.
I will upgrade with news if I hear something new and unknow.
Regards

Hi,
I have the same problem with the Wlan... I can't activate it...
As you ask, I check this Key, and I have the same ...
If someone has a solution...Thank you !

I upgraded my Jasjam with the original HTC Asia ROM (Doopod).
I too cannot switch on my WiFi anymore. Before the upgrade this was working perfectly.

Fellas, read the links I posted above.....there is a method there to determine which problem you have and some research on a possible solution...

I have gotten a XDAII and have it setup and working, however the gprs only connects when needed and won't stay permantley on. Has anyone else found this to be true, or is there a way to make it stay connected?

I dont have any other known answer to that to fix it but there's a program on PocketGear.com called GPRS Keep Alive. $2.45 to buy it and there's a trial too so give it a try.
Her's the link incase you want it:
http://pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=12673
But if you guys have alternate fix let us know, pls.
Here's a solution I've done to my XDA II with T-Mobile GPRS problem. I don't know who came up with this solution, but thanks to my friend who suggested this at PDAMobiz.com.
1. After a hardreset and completing the initial screen alignment, interrupt the auto-installation process by softreset your XDA II (you have 3 seconds before the files in Extended_ROM will automatically install).
2. Make your Extended_ROM viewable, whether by using the Extended ROM Viewer from http://www.ppcw.net or Extended ROM Switcher (sorry I forgot the link).
3. Now, install each cab files, except TMD_AP_NL.sa.CAB. In fact, I also disregarded, Caller ID, and some other TMD stuff.
As a result, the GPRS is now always-on as it should be.
Cheers,

New O2 Xda II mini ROM - GPRS disconnect button has gone

Hi,
I've just upgraded my O2 Xda II mini to the latest ROM (1.11) and found a problem.
Previously, I could end a GPRS session by tapping on the icon at the top and then clicking on the "Disconnect" button in the dialog bubble.
On the latest ROM, the "Disconnect" button has gone from the dialog bubble. It's simply not there any more.
I called the O2 Helpdesk and they have not had any other reports of this, and simply told me to hold the red "end call" button. While this works, it also backs me out of application I have open and active, which is a nuisance.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Yes you are right my MDA Compact came with the latest rom from factory and I was wondering why there is no disconnect button...? now I can see that it's common problem in 1.11 made by some mistake or something.
I guess they remove it because of the "GPRS connection problem" as I used to have problem on GPRS re-connection (after disconnected), however, after upgrade to 1.11, the problem no longer exist !
Thanks for your responses, Shamus and waiting4u.
I posted a message on the Mtek forum in Australia and one user there has the latest ROM and does not have this problem. Maybe it only happens to upgraded minis as opposed to new ones that came with 1.11?
Would really like this back. O2 support was no help and didn't even know it was a problem.
But this is obvious stupidy always on GPRS connection drains battery as a charm, I omitted the problem by installing SPB Gprs Monitor but disconnect shoud be implemented in system. M$ stupidy is enormous
PeterW mine MDA came with 1.11 it wasn't upgraded!!!

Hi Shamus,
In that case, it must be a stupid Microsoft oversight. I checked my colleague's Xda mini this morning - he is still running 1.03 ROM, and he does have the disconnect button. Very frustrating.
this little fine proggy finally makes me happy

Thanks Shamus! Will give it a try.

Qtek 9090 and problem with On/Off mode

Hi to the list,
i own a Qtek 9090.
It have just got a problem.
I cannot switch the Pda off by the switch.
It seems to be a problem with the switch but i think that the switch works because how i said befor it does not only switch off the pda.
if the Pda is already on and i switch it on with the bswitch it works. Also if i keep pressing the switch the light goes off and if i repeat the command the light comes on again so the problem is only for switch it off.
Actually to switch the Pda off i am using the SPB software but i cannot use it forever.
Anybody had the same problem?
Is there anybody which can suggest me how to solve the problem?
Thanks in advance.
Any help will be apreciated.
You're always welcome here but since you own a qtek9090 it's best that you repost your question on the BA forum. This is the Magician forum.
That seems like a software problem as the physical switch seems to work for other states. Have you tried hard reset to see if problem persists without any programs installed. Make sure you backup your data first.
To cruisin-thru
Hi,
i've made as you said.
I made and hard reset and tried without any software but still does'nt work.
Any other help will be apreciated.
Thanks

Bluetooth disconnects and doesn't respond

Hi,
Just got my Magician (Orange SPV M500) and unlocked it so I can use my Vodafone sim (using the software from this site). My problem is that if I leave my phone on for a while, for no apperent reason the Bluetooth turns itself off (disconnects - the Bluetooth icon in the bottom right of the screen is crossed out). I try and re-connect by clicking the Bluetooth icon, but there is no response. I've tried going into Settings>Connections>Bluetooth but there is no response when I click on that icon either. To rectify I have to do a soft reset. Anyone had similar problems before and known how to fix? Hard resetting doesn't solve the problem
Cheers
Try a bluetooth patch. There is one available for instance on the Extended Rom backup of QtekS100_WWE_11.11.129. Just try it.
I'm a bit of a novice at all of this. Can you explain how to do this? Is it safe or could I permanently **** up my phone?
It is just a patch wich originally shipped with the official roms. You can download extended rom copies on the ftp of xda-developers in the magician folder. Take the QtekS100_WWE_1.11.129 and in the zipped folder will be a BT patch.

GPR settings, bluetooth...etz

Hi,
I'm a new user of SVP m3100. Quite happy with .
I just installed WM6 BM ,And works fine.
But I can not connect to O2 GPRS I tried to get the settings, use some .CAB that I found on this forum, change the details ... So many times. And still can not use it. Is that because I still have the Orange software on it? If so, how can I delete it? (so I'm not seeing the Orange logo everytime I switch on my device..)
Another question is about BT. I don't know if anything wrong on mine, or is all like this but, there is no way to , for example send a picture through BT ? I can not uset either to sync my device, so I'm always using USB.
Is that for any reason? Is the Hermes BT like this..? so what use has it, just connect with handsfree and GPS ?
Thanks for help, and sorry if that has been discused on the forum, but I couldn't find the information to sold it out.
