Yeah, read and search first.. this question have been asked a couple of times already. But anyway...
SD works, SDHC doesn't.
Read the label of the SD card box/carton, it will say SDHC or just SD.
I have a 4Gb Transcend 150x. Works perfectly well.

then what about 8gb SD Card? is it useable?
Sorry, i just post then realised theres a thread available..

I believe all 8gb cards are SDHC and will not work. To the best of my knowledge, 4gd is as far as SD can go and so is the largest that can be used in a Universal.
I've been using the same card as DaVince, the 4Gb Transcend 150x with no problems at all.

i have tested 1 gig sdhc card and it worked .

My Dopod900 can use 4G SDHC and 8G SDHC

Max momory card.

I currently have installed a 1GB card and I want to know how much capacity wizard (wm6.1) can handle?
can anyone tell me ?
I believe that this is 2Gb, people appear to have problems with anything larger.
non-SDHC 4Gb
Been using a 4Gb normal mini SD(up to full capacity at some times) for 2 weeks now, so far no issues(no additional driver installed) I also have a 4Gb SDHC but never got that to work, and now it doesn't really matter now..
keeping fingers crossed...

thats interesting, and your running WM 6.1? I'd be interested to go get one now and test this out on mine as well, I've been swapping 2GB cards for some time now!
Thanks
Actually, a 4GB SD card should even work with WM5. The problem is that it's rather hard to find 4GB standard SD cards - most cards of this size are SDHC, and they won't work with wizard due to hardware incompatibility.

Holy SH*T!

so i bought this class 10 micro sd BEAST a couple months back and the rom i was on would just freeze when i popped it in. so i gave up and had this $100 tiny chip lying around.
well I decided to try it again tonight. guess what? IT WORKS! and I mean really works... this thing is so fast... if you have a 100 bucks lying around, get ittttt. a2sd is amazing
I see the SanDisk 16GB class 10 cards are claiming 30MB/s and selling for just under a Benjamin. http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-16GB-...1_fkmr2_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1271059962&sr=8-2-fkmr2

Where did you purchase it from?
Edit NVM found some!
Man, I just finally did the apps2sd thing with a class 6 and hardly noticed a speed difference.. This thing is tempting......!!
Isn't class 6 the fastest the Hero supports?
The class of an SD card doesn't tell you how fast an SD card is - it just guarantees a minimum level of performance. You can find class 2 cards that perform better than the class 10 minimum if you shop around (example here).
See here for more details.
The point is, don't get too het up just because you can put a class 10 card in your device, because it may well be that a much cheaper and lower class card can perform just as well.

Dave

[Q] how to migrate to a new SD card?

Hello again!
My brand new Transcend 8 GB microSDHC arrived today and i want to ask you the easiest way to migrate to this SD from the internal 2GB card.
How should i partition the new one?
Do i need a special program like SD Formatter or a linux machine?
thank you in advance with your help!
Nope, put it in and you're away. if you want just copy the contents of old sd card to pc and then put what you want back on new sdcard.

Transcend 8 GB microSDHC Class 10 (on card reader)
Transcend 8 GB microSDHC Class 10 (on Huawei Ideos X5)
why there is a performance drop when i put the SD in the mobile? Android cap or just huawei choosed a crap controller?
for sure its the hardware in the device and the format of the card (fat, ntfs etc.)
the OS has nothing to do with the transfer speed, i think its more of the drivers used by huaweii for the controller
that's a shame!
i should have bought a class 6 instead! same performance, less money!

weird SD card problem help me

hi guys,
I flashed back to future rom and was updating to 7720 rom and suddenly i dont know what happened my phone hung for few hours after flashing 7720 successfuly.I restarted my handset and my memory card seemed to be affected. When i removed it and put it in my laptops card reader it detects memory card but cant access anything.I formatted the card by wp7 reset your phone option but the card is being detected by phone but it cant be read by comp nor can be formatted by panasonic sd card formatter nor by easus partition manager and each and every program and comp hangs.i tried one software which read the card and said "corrupt partition 1".tried recovering but was useless.
I bought a new 16gb sd card san disk one and wp7 will not detect the card in anyway but detects the old one.I can tranfer music to the old sd card but i just cant format the bad partition.
any experienced user can help?
Dude, are you serious?
Its a well known fact that WP7 now encrypts your card. Its also stated in the OP of the rom thread.

Samsung 64GB Pro Micro SDXC UHS-1 64GB not achieving the approx. reading and writing

Good Day
Am not sure if this is the right category or thread. But I'm wondering on what I bought
I bought a Samsung 64GB Pro Micro SDXC UHS-1 that should be around 90MB/s of Read and 80MB/s.
I tried benchmarking it using the A1 SD Bench and the result is:
Read: 40.54 MB/s
Write: 37.73 MB/s
Screenshot:

}
So as you can see it's not accurate. Also this is formatted to exFAT.
I have the same SD card but with 32GB. My benchmark is the same. I have a custom kernel and increased the read ahead buffer to 3072kbps. Now I got 50mb/s read, but I want 90mb/s too.
Samsung Galaxy S5 - G900F
ROM: CM12.1 Nightly
Kernel: Boeffla 2.2-beta2
CP/BL: G900FXXU1BOH4
Recovery: TWRP 2.8.7.0
try to check it with internal usb to pc program.
The stats with the PC are ok. Speed as expected.
Do I need to use a Card Reader 3.0? I tried using a Card Reader 2.0 and it is only 20mb/s both on read and write
Yes you have to use a USB 3.0 card reader and your PC must have USB 3.0 Ports.

OK Thanks, but the benchmark on phone isn't still accurate..
Yes that's not accurate. I don't know, but maybe the SD card bus limits the speed?
