HI all,
I am using a 4GB Mini SD, not SDHC ones, and it happens that my X7500 doesn't read it properly, I mean that it recognizes it but it reads it as full while it isn't so and I can't access to the folder and run applications installed on it either. To have a correct reading of the card, I have to remove and insert it from its slot.
What could it depend from? Any suggestion to solve the problem...considering I tried a format card from pc and ppc both?
THX so much for you help!
Any suggestion?

Hi all!
Quick (I hope) question.
I have a M1000 that I have been using with a Kingstone 128MB SD Card. I also have a PC with one of these multiple card reader built in (6-1 I think they call it).
When I put my Kingstone card in the PC 6-1 a window open automatically with the card content.
Now I have finally bought a 1GB SD card from Billionton (48x) on eBay.
When I put the Billionton in my PDA everything seems fine, I can see the card and record on it.
When I put the card in my PC it can't read it at best, if I try to turn it on with the card inserted windows get stuck before login... (I am using XP)
I can see the GB card only through ctive Sync.
What can be the reason for it? Updating the drivers on my 6-1 is not an option... I have already looked for them...
If the solution is "formt the card" can u suggest a SW that I can use from my PDA?
Thank you!
Chris

Hi all,
I have searched hi and low for the resolution to my problem. I have owned a Magician (sold as Xda II Mini) for just under a year and have a 1Gb SD card (eagletec turbo 66x speed) which has worked beautifully until two days ago
File explorer does not recognise the SD card. I have tried the SD card in other devices (e.g. PC - using a card reader, digital camera, dvd player, my friend's pda etc...) and it works fine.
I have tried inserting different SD cards into the Magician and they all get recognised ok.
I have tried soft reset and hard reset to no avail.
I have formatted the SD card using a card reader on the PC (tried both FAT and FAT32) and also tried formatting it in my digital camera.
When I insert the card into the Magician (from power off state), the Magician does light up indicating to me that there is no problem with the spring load mechanism of the expansion slot. What is strange is that when I go to Settings->System->About, I get 'Expansion Slot: Not in use'
I also tried (after a suggestion in another post) to add a "shim" of plastic of paper on the contact side of the SD card. No use.
I am reluctant to flash the ROM as I have not had any other problems with the Magician to warrant it.
Any ideas?
Have you tried cleaning the contacts of the SD card? Try soft resetting with the SD card in it.
Hi thanks for replying.
Yes I have cleaned the contacts of the SD card and also tried many soft resets with the card in and also with the card out.
????
Hello,
Try formatting your card with a different reader or from a Nikia phone.
Regards
Carty..
I have tried formating the card in several card readers. Still not being recognised is file explorer. Again, the card does work in any other device I put it in - just not my mini
Anyhow, I'll just use a different card for now. Just wondered if any other people had the same issue as I do.
Thanks all.
for me the same **** happened with my new, exchanged, mdac. using the sd card with the previous machine was no problem, now the card is not being recognized at all. using it in notebook, camera ... no problem.
any ideas?
i dont want to start another thread but im having the exact same problem with my MDA Compact II. I have a 1gb Toshiba SD card that wont even work in the MDA but it works fine on my camera and PC. So I would like ot know if there is a solution to this
Thanks
Hi all
I am a newbie and am experiencing the same issue, external sd card not showing up in file explorer.
Sniffer can find it and I can play media files from there. Is this the norm or do I need to change something?
I am using C&C 1.5ghz Froyo Combo VERSION 8 final.
The 16GB card is seen by all other card readers I have tried.
Hi
I have read the thread about problems experienced by Media player not recognizing bigger SD cards. My problem is that my XDA doesn't recognise the card at all.
I know the card works (Sandisk 4GB) as I have tried it elsewhere.
The solution to the Windows Media problem was to delete a rogue file. Shall I delete this file or is it a hardware problem ?
Cheers
SDHC cards are only supported with Windows Mobile 6.
Could you be a bit more specific what version you have?
XDA did not recognise 4gb MicroCard
The WM6 one is a good obvious one.
Also I did not see what PC OS you are using.
If vista, the 1st time you sync the 4mb card in the phone, I had vista want to format the card. ..RUN AWAY !
If I ignore that, it is fine.
If you format the card it will likely not work (without another format, or worse)..
Storage Card
Thanks for the info on the card and WM6
I think that is it. I'll go and buy another card !
Cheers
Try to flash the Radio Rom. I know it sounds totally weird but I did that and suddenly it recognized the card.
Hi Guys,
I am facing one peculiar problem while writing to my MicroSD card from PC.
I just got 8gb card for my HD2. I tried it in my laptop it was working fine and showing me 7.90 GB space. But I read somewhere that we should format our card from HD2 first in order to optimize its performance. So I did same, inserted card in HD2 and format it.
Now after format, I can write on card while in HD2 but when I insert card in my laptop and try to write it I get error “Access is denied” and on top of that I am getting only 7.60GB space after format.
I can see one file in card “EncFiltLog.menc”. Don’t know if this causing the problem.
Guys need help how can I write to my card via PC.
Thanks in advance.

I take it you are using an adapter to sd size to insert it into you pc. Make sure you haven't flicked the write protection switch on the side of your adapter to "on" Failing that try connecting your hd via disk drive mode see if you can write files that way.
The EncFiltLog.menc is meant to be there. Im not sure what it is (its never bothered me to look) but ive got one and my diamond used to have one on it also. The 0.30mb will prob be that file and all the folders the hd creates setting up the sd card.
Hi Friends!
I've faced a very strange problem... One day my MiniSD card is crashed... All information is lost and device doesn’t see the card inside.
Utility to format the SD card isn't presented in standard programs. Format can be done using Resco explorer. I've installed it in internal memory and tried to format my SD... unsuccessful. I've formatted SD in PC using adaptor.
Now device can recognize the SD card but I still can't format it.
I have installed all software today but afraid that the SD will crash tomorrow…
Is it available, generally, to format SD card in HTC HD? May I need to but a new one?

Shalom, just to boost your question: No, I don't think you can format an SD card in htc (hit the cell ). I had been looking for the same before and didn't find it. But hang on, there might be people who know it better.
There should be a clear / format sd storage option in your WM settings. using windows to format it is just as good
