The application can be found through links here or by googling commmgrpro Use the application to force phone to certain bands only.

Signal problems i didnt have with my Wizard

I got the Hermes (cingular 8515) a couple of days ago. And everything is just fine but the most important part. I keep having dropped calls in places where the Wizard didnt have any problem at all.
ROM: 2.06.502.3
RADIO: 1.34.00.10
PROTOCOL. 32.67.7020.10H
I had the shipped ROM but i had this signal problems so i upgraded to this one in the hope that the problems would be solved but same thing.
Cingular did change my SIM card to a 3G one. I was wondering if it is a different network inside cingular and that is why i have problems. I really dont care about 3G, don't use it. Would my problem solve if i ask for a new regular SIM?
Thanks guys. I looked a lot for the same problem already posted so i dont repeat but didnt find anything, wich worries me a little
Yes, it could be that, because if you're in a major metropolitan area it'll try to use UMTS instead of GSM.
In any case, there is a fix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286844
This is a small app that will allow you to quickly change back and forth between the two.
If you don't want that, there's a reghack to enable a Band page in phone settings where you could force it back to GSM. Check the wiki.
Wow! thanks! it looks like the problem was solved!
I won't know for sure until i really tested it. But this is what i wanted to try

Signal Problems

Hey ive had the HD2 for a little under 3 weeks now and i struggle to actually find a signal on the device.
According to voda my area has full 3g network coverage and when i tested my sim in my old N97 i indeed recieved a full signal.
I've sent many emails to both voda and htc but none have been replied too.
I was just wondering if this was just me or is anyone else finding problems recieving a signal also?
and if so is the a fix for this at all?
any info would be appreciated
Hi there,
What radio do you have on your device? To find this out reboot the phone and watch the screen carefully at the bottom.
Get yourself a pen and paper and write down the series of numbers that comes up starting with R. Once we know that ....
Also being in Macclesfield, are you in a low signal area or dead signal patch? Used to happen to me a lot when I was in oop there.
WB
R - 2.05.51. 05~2
(~ because it was a squiggily line lol)
and no i get full coverage when i put it into my other phone so thats why im lost =/
and thx
Im going to flash the radi rom of this now and see if that works =)
i laughed so much when it came up with the "we hacked it" screen XD
*update*
ok i have actually picked up my 3g signal but its only 1 bar, but I HAVE A SIGNAL!!!
Good news! You have already gone down the route I was going to suggest.
WB
Ah i see well i wouldnt of thought of it if you hadn't asked for my radio version =)
thanks for the help much appreciated

htc hd2 telstra australia

I purchased this phone on Ebay and didnt realise at the time that it came pre loaded with Telstra software which prevents me form accessing the net etc. I am with "3" and would prefer to keep the phone - can anyone help solve this issue?
your quick fix would be to Flash a new Rom
Thanks for that. Next question - is how do I do that, where do I go, do I need to do via computer/net or phone/net - never done anything like it. Cheers

Wow. Could probably do this.
This is all about getting a phone for my sister who has vey poor reception at her farm in the country but where my HD2 works great. None of her three children who all have different types of phones gets as good as reception has the HD2. She wants to buy a phone doesn't want to get it home and find the reception is poor and having wasted her money. I could sell her mine (as I quite like the look of the Desire) and try to tweek it - or she could get one of her own from ebay (item 300447152858) which has already been done. Question then is, will it have the same reception - what part of the phone tells me that sort of info.

the very first thing that you're gonna have to do is flash an older Telstra ROM after you HSPL it. then you can flash whatever ROM you want. i speak from experience. good luck!
no no no... The Telstra phone doesn't prevent you from connecting to the net, it simply doesn't have the settings to connect to 3...
Ring 3 and get all the settings and create a new connection on your HD2...

Actually, whilst you'll get your 3 sim working, you'll have problems getting any desent net connection
Advise, actually flashing HSPL & then custom rom. It all takes a bit of time reading & understanding how it all works but trust me its the best thing to do.
I had probs getting my 3 sim working properly but eversince I started using custom roms, on 1st boot the device picks up the 3 settings automatically & runs perfect

As far as reception goes, your best bet is to stick to telstra. Or 3 as a second option, which runs on the telstra network when roaming.

that's actually more because the cooked roms generally contain the.global connectionsetup program that includes settings for most carriers than the rom itself. you can find it as a cab, which should work on the stock Telstra rom.

I'm having problems with my data connection...PLEASE HELP

I don't know if I'm the only one this is happening to, but I have noticed that my data connection is way more spotty then usual. Half the time my email doesn't download and stuff stops downloading in the middle. I don't have any major problems with my voice connection, just my data. I have tried out several different ROM's just to make sure (I am running Elegancia right now), but the problem stays no matter what I do. I have radio version 2.10.50.08_2, could it be that our something else.....PLEASE LET ME KNOW...

yeah im getting the same but im still getting all my data fine its like i have full 3g but its not showing up on my phone werid
Flash MIRI's WM 6.5. I did it yesterday and i've been having great luck with it so far. I haven't noticed any places where i get less data connection.
Moved as not ROM Development.
Thanks for the help so far....Maybe I just revert back to stock...does anybody have the step by step instructions how to do it?? Thanks...

T-mobile NETWORK RECEPTION ISSUE-****SOLUTION****

For everybody using HTC HD2 that is connected to T-mobile or simple mobile network, depending of the location in the USA, u will have a problem with poor reception. no mater what ROM or Radio u use the solution is very easy.
Just go to: Comm Manager( wireless controls)/Phone/Band and change the band from Auto to WCDMA, the phone has problems with going automatically from one to another
U have no idea how much research I had to do for this. I almost changed the phone because of this issue, after this it works perfectly. And don't worry u still use the GSM and 3G(WCDMA) even if its set like this.
Well I hope this will save a lot of people lot of time and nervs that I lost If it works for u too, advertise the solution on more places, because when I needed I couldn't find it anywhereeeeeeeee
No questions on this, because I don't follow this tread. Just leave comments if it works or not, and give alternative solutions. Thanks
